    If a DR. told you your bp was 260 over whatever, how long would you figure you had to live ? Or how long, with out any other symptoms or injury ? I'm alive and well, and years after being told ... and now, I'm on home-made kefir :) Thank you Donna, for sharing this valuable and timely information with all of us, your friends !!!

    It’s true. I’ve been on Kefir for 5 days and my bp is PERFECT!

    I started drinking Kefir a couple weeks ago. I noticed this past week that I was feeling weak and tired. Finally I checked my blood pressure. My normal BP is 125/75 and the last three days (still feeling weak) My BP has dropped to 114/56 116/64 114/62. Taking Kefir is the only change I have made in my life. So am trying to monitor my intake I take in the morning. Today I took about 6 ozs. Tomorrow I am going to drop it to four ozs. And, get this, I am still on the store bought Kefir. My culture has not arrived yet. Can't imagine what that's going to do. I will probably start out with 2-3 ozs. and see what happens. I really don't want to stop taking it. Just need to monitor my effects and go from there. I am 72 and never could take medications without having a devastating effect on me. So I don't take anything although my doctor insist I do but I refuse to do so. My belief is that a healthy gut is a healthy body. That's why I want to stick to Kefir. Thanks for the information with the video.

      Hi! This could very much be a healing crisis/ detox. Kefir is extremely powerful probiotic that can assist the body in detoxing and purging excess bad bacteria/yeasts and more. I'm not a doctor so keep this in mind. I can only share what I know from personal experience through myself, my family, research and from helping others. But I think reading this article on the healing crisis will help you: www.culturedfoodlife.com/the-healing-crisis-and-cultured-foods/

    High blood pressure and glucose are due to high consumption of sugar , refined flour and processed food. When I cut these food out, everything came back to normal and lost some weight.

      I've cut those things from my diet for years and still had high bp. Having gut dysbiosis and/or SIBO, which can cause systemic inflammation, can also contribute to high bp. Kefir helps heal those conditions.

    Love kefir, you inspired me with your podcasts. I am going to try making it with strawberries and bananas, blended then I am going to put that mix in a cheesecloth and strain it through. To make cheese then I am hoping the whey will taste good enough to drink as is. Do you think this might work?

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  Před 5 lety

      Hi Darla! Kefir whey is naturally a little bit sweet (very little) and i mix it into a homemade lemon water and love it! I'm not sure if making a smoothie will work for making kefir cheese but you can certainly try it!

    Hello Donna, My daughter's gut issues got me here to your channel. I'm new and recently subscribed. This podcast mentioning BP, kefir may be the answer for both of us. How much kefir should one consume daily to help with our issues? Also how much to maintain good health? Thank youuu, in advance much appreciated! :)

      Hi! Start slowly as you can go through a healing crisis/detox which can be not so fun (but is a good thing in the long run) I would start with 1/4 and gradually increase. You can learn all bout the healing crisis (and many more subjects on cultured foods on my website) www.culturedfoodlife.com/the-healing-crisis-and-cultured-foods/

    have you blended fruit and put it in while fermenting?

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  Před 5 lety +3

      I don't recommend this. It's best to let the grains ferment just milk. You can add a piece or two of fruit (or part of a smoothie) in after fermentation and the grains are removed to do a 2nd ferment. But don't do it with the grains there will be too much sugar and it will cause the kefir to be watery,

    Hello. I make kombucha, fermented fruits and sauerkraut at home for my own consumption. My question is do foods with anti bacterial properties like honey, turmeric, virgin coconut oil, do these kill both bad and good bacteria?

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  Před 5 lety

      Hi Nyra! Coconut Oil and Honey seem to do just fine with ferments. Coconut oil specifically is designed to kill the bad guys but leave the good guys alone. I've fermented with honey also and had great outcomes. I've made things with turmeric as well but can't say for sure if it's killing the bad bacteria. I mostly stay away from things like essential oils which do kill good bacteria because they are so condensed.

    Is lowered blood sugar one of the most common comments / responses, following drinking kefir ?

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  Před 4 lety

      Not necessarily. I've seen just about every type of healing response you can think of. A big one is better bathroom trips (after the initial detox), reduced cravings and reduced inflammation. But everyone is different and it depends on how much you consume and the rest of your lifestyle.

    Where do I get it? Does it matter if he milk is pasturized

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi! You can find already made kefir at most health food stores and even a lot of grocery stores ( I like lifeway brand) homemade is more beneficial but store bought is a good place to start. I sell the live kefir grains whenever you are ready to make it at home. You can use pasteurized milk to make it but avoid using ULTRA pasteurized milk. The kefir grains dont survive when the milk has been ultra pasteurized.

    • @sylviasanchez5868
      @sylviasanchez5868 Před 5 lety +1

      Could raw milk be used? Or is organic grass fed pasteurized safer? Either way how would one start the process? I’d be interested in buying milk kefir grains? Do you have water kefir grains as well?

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  Před 5 lety +3

      @@sylviasanchez5868 You can certainly use raw milk. Just make sure to remove the cream. Raw milk does have its own good bacteria so it can compete with food from the grains and be a little bit less consistent. But I used it for years! Yes I do sell water kefir crystals also :)

    Very interesting information, you say it also helped with your diabetes? I’m wondering if it would be beneficial to a type 2 diabetic. I’ve been taking kefir for over a month now, so I’m hoping for some benefits. Thanks again for this very interesting video.

      Paul B ,
      4 months ago, my BP and BG and triglycerides were high. My Dr suggested I check in the emergency room! Anyway, I removed sugar, refined flour and processed food, within 3 months , everything came back to normal and lost 12 lbs. I had insulin resistance (type 2 diabetes ). Check CZcams video on Dr. Eric Berg

      Hi Paul! I've seen kefir help many many people with type 2 diabetes as well. But keep in mind that other factors can help you heal also. Overall lifestyle, exercise, getting good sleep and reducing stress all are crucial to healing just about anything. I'm not a doctor but this is what i've learned with myself and watching others , over the years.

    I'm starting to think your over hyping kefir for a couple of reasons
    first I've been drinking milk kefir for almost 3 months, I bought my kefir grains and there doing excellent
    however after 3 months of drinking 2 cups, total 16 ounces per day I haven't noticed anything
    you claim reduced appetite thus promotes weight loss in obese people
    my appetite is exactly the same, asthma benefits have been zero and all these claims you make are non existent in myself or 2 other people I convinced to drink kefir based on your wild false claims
    I realize your trying to get views, sell books and sell merch
    I think your kefir claims are completely exaggerated in order to sell your merch
    after 3 months, myself and 2 other people I convinced to drink milk kefir everyday have not seen one bit of difference
    I think all the people selling vitamins and all these so called super foods are simply looking to cash in
    taking vitamins hasn't changed anyone's health, otherwise I would be super healthy as would be my friends but vitamins and these super foods do nothing
    eat fruit, vegetables lean meat and eggs, don't smoke or drink, moderate exercise is all u need
    kefir does nothing, 3 months every day, 1 cup in the morning 1 cup at night, ZERO RESULTS, same with 2 other people I'm embarrassed I got them over hyped about this supposed miracle food,
