- This 100W amp (yes - amp! Not pre-amp) packs a huge sonic punch in a carry-on friendly yet bullet-proof form factor. (Full review: goo.gl/rAvKMY) Designed by Thomas "Strat King of Europe" Blug, it can go from pristine crystal clean to saturated liquid high gain and everything in the middle! Featuring a crazy military-tech "NanoTube", the Amp1 has all the features you'd want from a fully gig-capable amp, and doesn't lack for tube feel either.
Direct recorded track from the AMP1's recording out starts at 2:10
Sounds great my friend! And nice Goding you have there. Love the color!
Absolutely awesome demo bro!
Nice demo, these units are quite amazing.....I've been gigging with mine for 3 months now, superb clean or dirty....takes pedals really well...and so small and light....I'm hooked
I enjoyed your demo and great playing. Thanks for posting 6 String!
+Sirvice Man Thanks for commenting! Love this crazy little gizmo.
Great Demo!
Getting ready to buy one of these bad boys! My biggest concern is that it will be too loud for small pub gigs. Can you dial in a good sound at lower volumes?
+Jason Maltz You sure can. I didn't feel that the tone itself changed much between low and high volumes, and you have heaps of control - master volume, channel volume, mode volumes etc.
+Six-String Samurai Gear Reviews, where did you purchase? Not alot of options in the US as of yet for retailers.
Hey Jason, I got my review unit from the local distributor. I live in New Zealand though, haha sorry.
+Jason Maltz It has an integrated powersoak down to 0.15watts.
MsAndy60 no it doesn't, the midi controller does and that costs almost as much as the amp!
Yoy can use 16R speaker at 8R out to reduce the power as well---
+MsAndy60 I feel like this is really not that necessary. The AMP1 has a perfectly functional master volume, AND channel volumes, AND extra volume controls on the side...
+Six-String Samurai Gear Reviews What about to add the power stage distortion at lo volume, did you try it?
To me the circuit feels designed to get whatever tones you need at any volume (i.e. mostly rooted in preamp gain) which makes sense considering the portable concept. I didn't feel that there was any particular benefit in trying to drive the power section, or any huge difference when turning it up super loud. Still sounded great either way ;)
