  • In this video I will show you I setup and made the cables for my new pedalboard featuring the Bluguitar Amp1 and the Line 6 HX Effects. These two units when put together make a powerful sound with lots of flexibility. I highly recommend this setup to anyone who likes using real amps with multi fx units. I use my quad cortex with the amp 1. It’s super powerful

    I like what you have done here, so much that I’m intending to copy your ideas. I’m confused by the power underneath the board. How did you plug in the HX effects power into the IEC splitter? The IEC lead has 3 holes, and the HX effects adapter has 2?

    Thankfully I’ve seen your video. Question. What type of aftermarket midi cable did you get to connect the Amp1 with the switcher? I have the Bluguitar midi cable (1/4 inch Jack to female midi I think) so is it a male to male midi cable? (If that’s even a thing)

    Just bought an Amp1 yesterday.... do you use the Blug midi adapter or is there a less expensive option? I would like to get it to talk with my Line 6 Helix. Thanks!

    Will this work if you don't have the midi set up? I just cabled mine exactly the same, but I don't have the midi... changing channels on the amp1 manually doesn't do anything right now.

      You can use the EXT Amp switch on the back of the HX to toggle channels but you have to choose while drive channel you want to switch to. You can't access all of them without MIDI.

    Hi
    what type of adapter do you use to replace the original Hx effects 9V transformer. Can you send brand specifications or the link.

    • @DoctorMcFarlandStudios
      @DoctorMcFarlandStudios  Před 4 lety +1

      I am using the original transformer but I have two IEC adaptors so I can power both units with one lead going to the wall. I will add links to the adaptors later today.

    Would it make sense to use a Gigboard instead the HX-Effects, because midi on Headrush is very limited

    • @DoctorMcFarlandStudios
      @DoctorMcFarlandStudios  Před 4 lety +2

      I will be doing a video next week in how to use the GIGBOARD or Pedalboard to change channels on the amp via midi. It is limited to sending PC messages at this time so this doesn’t allow the Amp1 to change the gain of the channels but just the amp channels themselves.

      @@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Im running my Headrush alongside an HX Effects with the HX Stomp. I currently use Midi for the Line 6 side but want to run midi starting at the Headrush through the effects to the Stomp. Is that what youre going to be showing everyone?

    • @DoctorMcFarlandStudios
      @DoctorMcFarlandStudios  Před 4 lety

      BrokenDreamRox so you are using 3 units at once??? That is a lot going on in one rig. My video will show how to change channels on the Amp1 using PC messages from the Headrush. Only 1 PC message can be sent per rig so I doubt you could control 2 units at a time like you are suggesting.

      @@DoctorMcFarlandStudios yes sir. I am using the Stomp and the Helixtogether as a mini helix via the Aux in/outs then that is fed into the aux in/out of the Headrush.
      In addition I'm running two outputs from each side of my setup into a mini mixer and using an A/B/Y pedal as the second expression pedal for both sides at the guitar I'm running into an A/B/Y switch.

      @@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I'm trying to get information on the MIDI cc list for both sides.
