Yeah I liked that guy
Yes he is pretty good. I normally don't care for these press junket interviews because most of them make me cringe. His are great, and you can tell the actors know him and like him. Like they are thinking " thank god, not another idiot with the same stupid questions.". I wish his interviews were longer. I am actually binge watching the BBC 1 channel right now after seeing some of his interviews with the avengers cast members. I also love Grahm Norton, I am American and I think his show is one of the best talk shows ever done. I have to give credit to Mr. Oldman too, besides being a brilliant actor he always gives a decent interview, even when the interviewers are not that great.
He's actually pretty awkward but in a way where the interviewee wants to open up in order to make it less awkward. Plays it well no doubt.
He's a great interviewer but people over use the word legend.
I like how Gary goes from being slightly guarded and tense to totally at ease and relaxed by the end of the interview. Props to the interviewer for his skill.
I saw exactly the opposite. Freaking weird at the end ... Maybe a little preview of his next character. What the f was that though? :P

Being a good entertainment interviewer is all about getting the people you interview to relax, have a good time and show their personality and this guy does it brilliantly. It's not about trying to get them to reveal personal secrets or to say something they shouldn't have, it's about helping the actor show off the best and most positive aspects of themselves to the audience.
It's so great when a superfan gets to do the interview, none of the same BS questions, etc.
'Tell me you had a good time' I thought that was kind of a silly thing to say, wasn't it?

Gary Oldman is a legend, but the intervierwer guy really knows what he is doing. I watched quite a few of his interviews and they are really good conversations. Mainly because of his passion for movies and his knowledge and preparation. Keep up the great work. Greetings from Germany.
Yes I agree, like I said in another reply here, he always gives a great interview, even if the interviewer isn't so great. He just seems like he is very present/in the moment and stays on point with the question. I don't know much about his background but he seems very intelligent and well educated. Him and Allen Rickman are two of my favorite character actors. They can pull off any role you throw at them.
Agreed. I just came here from his interview with Christopher Nolan talking about how Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, etc always wear masks. Then what topic comes up in this video? Gary Oldman wearing a mask 😂 genuinely made me chuckle when he said he’s too good to have his face hidden.
I think its a British thing as well with this interview & the Nolan one. Just the easier communication & our more laid back banter. Generally more informal than US ones but still professional & insightful
Actually disagree. These interviews are too much about “see how much I know and how well I prepared for this interview”, and not enough about hearing what the actor actually has to say
he definitely has some aura that relaxes the stars and finds questions that arent too absolutely redundant
That moment half way the interview when you realize that Oldman could have played: Gordon, Joker, The Scarecrow, Dent, Penguin, The Riddler and well why not, even Batman.
I think he would have made an excellent Alfred myself.

I like how Gary let himself get a little silly at the end. He's usually very reserved. By that I mean, cool, calm and collected.

It's completely insane that it took all the way until 2018 for Gary Oldman to win an Oscar. He's absolutely incredible. A true shapeshifter and master of the craft. Truly one of the greatest of all time.
This interviewer is great. Watched the one with Tom Cruise that was also well done. He puts his stars at ease because he researches their movies so well, bringing out memorable touches in their parts that compliment their performances.They revel in it and open up to him because they see he is rooting for them. They do not feel threatened by him, relax and have a good time. He needs to be careful. He is walking a fine line of real to fake admiration that could backlash if he is not sincere.

@@DM-bv9uh The most obvious is for the interviewee to shut down and simply give yes no answers for the remainder of time if they pick up on the fact the interviewer is going through the motions or actually knows nothing about them or what they have done. Another backlash is to never allow another interview with them. This has happened.

These interviews are fascinating to watch.
I could see Gary Oldman being cast as classic actor John Hurt in a John Hurt biopic, and delivering a spot on performance. Gary was brilliant in his film role as Winston Churchill, and he comes across as being a true gentleman in his interviews.
I like how at a certain point of the interview it just feels like they forget they are there and they start talking like they are at the pub. Sharing stories without the typical “think carefully about what you are about to say movie interview”.
This has to be one of my favourite interviews of Gary ever. The interviewer is amazing, so natural which made Gary just so comfortable
i consider Him one of the great actors, because He is one of those who plays DIFFERENT rolls..
The man has a hell of a career. He played some of the best and extraordinary characters in movie history.

He's so soft spoken and adorable, though.He's one of those guys that you'd never suspect is good in the spotlight.
There are so man actors that are fantastic but to me the one that rules them all is Gary Oldman. The diversity of his roles and his acting together with amazing make up can make him into anyone. I have seen a few films not even realizing he was in the movie until the end credits rolled. The transformation is unreal.
Have to agree here, for once, that the "The Dark Knight" name drop at the end probably hyped me up more than most movies. It was exquisitely done!

Gary Oldman in True Romance is some of the best acting ever done.
Great interview. The only thing it's kinda wrong is the way that the interviewer called Jim Gordon's roll as "the guy gets the coffee". Actually he's practically one of the main protagonists in the trilogy and Nolan made him the real hero of the history, leaving Batman with the title of something more, like a legend, a myth... When we analyse the three movies, Jim actually saves Gotham in the final of the first and last one, and saved the own Batman in The Dark Knight.
