Doesn't have a lot of replayability? Woooooooo boy are you guys wrong. No way you're gonna get a feel for the game after only 5 plays.

I disagree quite a lot with the problems he brings up about Avalon. namely the "optimal strategy" and "luck factor" of the assassin.

I know this is months old, but one rule you can add that most people forget to mention is that whoever is the leader can control which mission they're going to try and pass, allowing you to complete missions in any order, so that adds quite a bit to the game, I feel.

I have to disagree with you on this one. First off, the ability to lose a game due to a weak link on your team is not a reason to give a game a poor rating. You wouldn't say Pandemic or Arkham Horror are bad games because you can lose if someone on your team is bad. And in a game about deception this is even less true. 1 strategy is for the spies to all try and win over 1 Resistance member and alienate the rest. Also, if you're going to rate a game poorly because it makes people upset, then just about every competitive game would be considered terrible.

Did secret Hitler pretty much copy this game?

yeah I have come to same consensus as you. After the first time playing of Resistance the passing of the first missions is the key for spies. About the only time you can get a hiccup is when both spies are choosen and they both fail a mission. I was excited about the thought of Avalon, but again it feels cheapen if a wild stab in the dark gets the merlin player. I will most likely not pick up either and rather pickup the game Shadow Hunters instead.

I was just about to subscribe, then he said "that is a filthy lie". Why do you think we are watching video's about Avalon? Its because we're interested in it. Know your audience.
