France, 2 days ago, a 14 year old was driving a stolen car, dodged a police control who had to start à poursuit. He crashed into another car killing the driver who was 34 year old. It happened at 2h50 a.m.
On March 2024, a man was driving dangerously on a supermarket parking lot in a small town in South West France. Someone yelled at him. He got out off his vehicle, walked towards the concerned man and started striking him with a knife, he and his wife. The husband died, the wife got wounded and their son was shocked.

My shop used to be about 100 yards away from this location until I moved five years ago after three break-ins. It's a godforsaken, drug infested, homeless crime haven intermixed with suburban tract home enclaves. I've heard folklore that Ramona cursed the Hemet/San Jacinto valley and I believe it. One of the better choices I've made was to leave there.

Many years ago when I lived in Massachusetts I was driving home on RT 128 and I heard to watch out for a man with a knife attacking motorist. And like you I wouldn't be in Chicago or any other blue city at any hour unless I absolutely had to.

Considering that when he was at the store, he was sweating, acting weird, asking for a dollar's worth of booze, I have to suspect he was definitely stoned on something, along with being nuts.
I was in a store where an immigrant rushed in. He was only there for a couple of minutes and took something to the register. Then he started acting really nervous and rummaging through all his pockets and backpack. I was certain he was about to rob the store. Luckily it was a false alarm, but the store owner was thinking the same thing.
Hemet / San Jacinto area used to be nice, working-class area. But state or county agencies decided to ship their deranged people out there, since the area wasn't as populated and was not rich as LA, Riverside, SBdo, ... Not a surprise anymore.

Every day, when I drive home from work while on the freeway, I have to look up over each bridge I pass and watch out if there's some lunatic throwing rocks at cars or possibly pointing a gun shooting. This is in the 405 hwy in Irvine, one of the "safest" city in the country.
