Do They Know It #60 - DO COLLEGE KIDS KNOW 80's MUSIC? #3 (REACT: Do They Know It?) - ZĂĄbava
"This is him as Ziggy Stardust."
*Shows a picture of Aladdin Sane.*
yes
People not knowing who George Michael and not being able to recognise David Bowie's voice. I wanna cry.
Yeah it is pretty sad
It is really sad
Agreed
âLabyrinthâ? Seriously? Thatâs what they think David Bowie was mostly known for? They donât even know the artistic and creative impact Bowie created.
@@Dino23968 She didn't say that's what he was known for.. She just said that's what she knew his look from, and compared it to the other pictures. Besides, people are born at different times, and discover people at different points in their career. To me, Roger Moore has always been quintessential James Bond. To many of course that's blasphemyđ. Obviously tho' to many older people it has to be Sean Connery, Younger people Pierce Brosnan, etc. etc. I can't even remember the name of the blonde guy, and I don't even remember if he's still the latest ha.
How did they not get David Bowieđ
Horrible parents
"it has a Rolling Stone vibe..."
YOU DON'T SAY!?
Wasn't Bowie's character with the lightning bolt called 'Aladdin Sane'? I'm quite sure Ziggy was the one with the circle on his forehead.
yes, you're right.
"He sounds like Franz Ferdinand to me." It was at this point that I left the room
I wanted to strangle someone.
George Robbins I've cried 6 times throughout this whole video
I'd love to see a "Do You Know The Original", in which they determine which of a song is the original an which is a cover.
And, I'd love to see a "Real VS Weird Al" show too.
Nada Sheppard i actually like that idea
"it sounds very 80s" maybe because it's 80s music
Do you know 80's? "I have a Metallica shirt on" Proceeds to get them all wrong
also she got at least 2 lol
PAT BENETAR, 70S NOT 80, SOME PEOPLE NEVER GET IT RIGHT!
"I have a big music repertoire, I should do pretty well at this". Cut to 4 minutes later, "I've actually never heard anything by the Rolling Stones". I found that absolutely hilariousđ
Fergal Quinn not everyone listens to every genre ever
Dionne Sier he's saying that if someone says they listen to a lot of music you'd think they'd know one of the biggest bands in the world. I've met people who "listen to everything" and she thought jimi hendrix hosts the tonight show
"That sounds like Queen" BLASPHEMY
You'll be ok.
G Michael was actually largely influenced by Queen so itâs not a surprise that he kind of sounds like them
@@eaqua56 I think some of it is that neither Freddie nor George sound American.
@@773SleepyHollow Maybe because they weren't.
âLabyrinthâ? Seriously? Thatâs what they think David Bowie was mostly known for? They donât even know the artistic and creative impact Bowie created.
They don't even know who George Michael is??? WHAT
I KNOW!
Ikr ...I mean if it was Wham! instead of George Micheal Alone , it might've been noticed lol . Either way George Micheal has that godly sweet pop voice...
Peter Liakakos
I'm 17 and I knew who he was. Everyone here in the U.K. Knows who George Michael is! He was my idol ever since I was little. I love what he stood for, his fans music and individuality. He was such an inspirational person and he will be missed. Christmas will honestly never be the same. đâ€ïž
HOW DO YOU NOT RECOGNIZE DAVID BOWIE'S VOICE!?!?
Seriously lol!!
And how do they NOT recognize George Michael's "Faith" ?!?!?!
Or Janet Jackson's "Nasty" ?!?!?!?!
Or Bobby Brown's "My Perogative" ?!?
Damn :(
I swear if Madison says "it's a classic" one more time, I will literally throw my phone right across the room
"It sounds like Queen"
Really? REALLY?
"I have a pretty big music repartoire" ... "Ive actually never heard anything from the rolling stones" srsly dude?
fancy wrong Lol at the time, I was drawing a blankđ đ
"I've never heard anything from rolling stones..."
bro, I'm sure you've listened to at least "satisfaction"
HOW DID NO ONE KNOW LETS DANCE
Aoife Leonard IKR
Aoife Leonard but half of them knew it
Dionte: I have a really big music repertoire...
Dionte: I've never actually heard anything from The Rolling Stones
Ghost_Hands ikr
The fact that so few of them knew George Michael hurt my soul.
The didn't recognize David Bowie's voice? And George Michael? đź
George played with himself, in the wrong place!
I bet you they play Careless Whisper or Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, they'll figure out who George Michael is FAST!!
David J. Boles I honestly thought it was wake me up lol
Highly doubt they'd even know GM was part of Wham!
HOW DO U NOT KNOW WHO GEORGE MICHAEL IS
Keep Chelsea true! am asking the same question ))) have they been living under a rock or something?
TAHT IS NOT ZIGGY GOD DAMN IT, THAT'S ALADDIN SANE
Brooke Forey-Wells that hurt me so bad. How could they mess up that badly?
@@CustardColonel POSERS.
"I have a really big music repertoire"... 4 min later "I actually never heard anything from the Rolling Stones"..... Yeah, you need to redefine how 'big' your music repertoire is....
I know right... Feeler
I'm more upset the guy said he's never heard of BOBBY BROWN. I've never met a single person who's never heard his music and/or heard of his drama and addiction that involved his ex-wife Whitney Houston. C'mon man.
+jmvice41 who is bobby brown?
well he also knew the two songs that nobody else knew so he did well
just because he doesnt know the rolling stones and a few other singers/bands???
A small fact about David Bowie that they failed to mention is that his birth last name was Jones and he changed his last name so that he would not be mistaken for Dave Jones from the Monkeys
I remember Ziggy Stardust...
Monkees.
If The kids in this video had heard of the Monkees, Iâd be *very* surprised ⊠!
Also that this was Aladdin Sane, not Ziggy Stardust
That's Aladdin Sane, not Ziggy - come on people...
David Hartin wHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY THAT'S ZIGGY?!?!?! HIS NAME IS EVEN IN THE ALBUM'S TITLE
The persona with blue and red lightning is not Ziggy Stardust.. It's Aladdin Sane??
It hurt my soul when they said ZiGgY
HOW DO THEY NOT KNOW GEORGE MICHAEL
Evelien1802 haha I know right!
Evelien1802 legit!! it makes me feel so oldđ
how does wearing a Metallica shirt all of the sudden help you guess songs from the 80s lol
Well if a song from the first 4 Metallica album comes along, there's a decent chance she has heard it.
All the kids missing on David Bowie's Let's Dance.
"sounds very 80's" gee, i wonder why!
guy with glasses looks like a South Park chracter
im thinking a mexican cartman
Were they living under a rock not hearing about George Michael?
Every song that comes on at least 1 person always says "This is a classic"
These kids parents have failed them. Like late 80s/early 90s babies know all about 70s and 80s music but these kids seem to know very little about every decade I noticed. Even the 2000s đ
Do more "Do They Know 70's Music". It was awesome.
I love how Ethan is like "of course. Everyone knows this song" and then it cuts to like several people sitting there with no clue đ
WTH how do people not instantly recognise David Bowie's voice????!!!!!
i feel your pain but not everyone listens to david bowie
âLabyrinthâ? Seriously? Thatâs what they think David Bowie was mostly known for? They donât even know the artistic and creative impact Bowie created.
I'm still wondering who uses a picture of Bowie from Aladdin Sane on their 80s music clip...
@@jackwells8107 yes they call it ziggy star dust
@@roshihamal2419 itâs like showing a little kid a picture of a cheetah and saying itâs a zebra.
do a react to the smiths
it's funny how they're all like "it sounds soooo 80's, it's sooo 80's" uhh duh? you're guessing to 80's music. lol
I didn't even know the song but I recognized David Bowie's voice in like 0.2 seconds
HOW DO PEOPLE NOT KNOW FAITH BY GEORGE MICHAEL!
They're stupid
Angelique Parras EXACTLY!
Angelique Parras iiiii
When they called Aladdin Sane "Ziggy" I got so pissed
same
That's not Ziggy Stardust, that's Aladdin Sane... Ziggy is the one with the gold circle on the forhead and he used to dress up as Ziggy during concerts, he never painted the lighting on his face for shows.
ikr!
đ
Adam is my spirit animal
How about doing one of these for 1950s or 1960s Music sometime? That would be quite interesting to watch for sure.
if she says "this is a classic" one more time.. i will do nothing..
If she says "thats a classic" ONE MORE TIME, I am going to lose it.
who else was mad that no one knew let's dance?
Caleb Jacobsen not mad..... just sad.
Dakota A Schmal yeeeaaaa..........
brendon urie said that the inspiration for his song Miss Jackson was inspired by Nasty by Janet Jackson. lyrics being "miss jackson miss jackson miss jackson are you nasty"
but like im not obsessed with panic or anything.
Really original lyrics work there.
No Journey, Michael Jackson, Queen, Gun N' Roses??? Really!?
Lexi McCulloch I KNOW!!!
Guessing 80s songs and says NSync. Bravo
really it was totally 1D.
"Here he is as Ziggy Stardust"
*shows a picture of Aladdin Sane*
Can't wait for all these kids to be 30 and yell at their holographic computer screens that some teen doesn't know a Rae Sremmurd song. You think it won't happen to you, but it will.
"It has a Rolling Stone vibe" im crying
Next time you do 80's Music... Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time!"
PLEASE MAKE THEM REACT TO BOWIE'S SONGS
"Let's dance by Blake"...oh no...my heart!! they should react to classic bands semi famous songs
I need as many of these "do they know" videos as possible
these people never heard of George Micheal..............................
They're kids. Of course they haven't. Don't act all surprised.
Cthulhoop I mean I'm a teenager and even I've heard of him from the last Christmas song. Not really an excuse.
Tragic.
+ Cthulhoop There are some cases where age isn't an excuse, and this is one of them. Someone like George Michael should be common knowledge, even if you're not into 80s music or whatever.
WE NEED A ROCKY "DO THEY KNOW 80's MUSIC" WITH QUEEN, AC/DC AND GNR
ADAM! I'll always remember him from the panic at the disco and My chemical romance videos đ he was my spirit animal, still is.
narayani mendoza same
I like how Ethan says: I don't listen to that old 80's stuff-I'm not a big 80's guy and yet he knew and liked some of them LMAO
Why no 80s Metal or Hard Rock? That chick was literally wearing a Metallica shirt, and all their best albums and songs were in the 80s
this boy said george Michael sounds like queen!!! WTF!!!
Caleb Fox yeah the voices are nothing alike
Holy Jesus.... the Bowie one got me crying
The asian girl is GORGEOUS!
Do a 80s and 90s Rock and Metal video
Didn't know Bowie or the Stones makes me so sad.
I don't pay attention to new music all that much so I'm not suprised that younger fans have much more focus to older artists...it's a continuing theme throughout music in past century...
"Everyone knows this song!"
Cut to reactors looking blankly into space.
Thank God this video isn't a try not to get mad challenge
React to Pink Floyd cmon
Really enjoyed the selection of 80's tunes that were chosen!
Thank you, React Channel, for making me feel old. _AGAIN!_ ;-)
React to Depeche Mode
Oh good one!
Please do 60's music please!!!!
OMG I love this. Love u guys!!!
That first one from 1987 sounded nothing like queen Adamđ
"This sounds like Queen" what đ
Camp flamboyant pop kind of rock
I didn't think so either lol
George Michael has actually very similar voice with Freddie, search for "George Michael-somebody to love" with queen
i can hear a similarity between that song and "who needs you"
This is "Let's Dance" by Blake. Are you serious?
living under a rock? no, honey...try a friggin boulder.
"I'm wearing a metallica shirt" aren't they more 90s??
started in 1982 and released four albums in the 80's...compared to three in the 90's...think you could say Metallica are also 80's
No not at all they released their 4 most renowned and in most peoples eyes their best albums during the 80's. The band was formed and made its debut way back in 1981 :)
How do you not know who George Michael is.
Moral Harlot well he's a frozen banana salesman/child.
One of my issues as a European with Do ... know 80/90's music is that some songs you guys feature were perhaps quite popular in the US, but never really popular in Europe. I listen to quite a lot of 80's music but I had no idea what some of these songs/artists were. I mean it's fine because Americans are featured here but still.
I love how Madison always says "Oh, my God, this is a classic," but completely gets it wrong
She knows it, just not the title or artist
I love Michelle's hairâĄâĄâĄ
Best ERA 80s was the BEST DECADE OF ALL TIME PERIODâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.. NO Question
Do a "do seniors know 50s-60s songs!"
Kids react seeing there dads react to -80s Heavy Metal
"This has a Rolling Stones vibe!"
me: IT IS THE ROLLING STONES *starts having a break down*
"if it's rock, i'm definitely gonna get it." "It sounds like Queen." Shame!
George Michael was more Pop than Rock though.
+Jake Moore yeah but queen was rock, and he thought a pop song sounded like them
Have Americans never heard of George Michael đ±
IKR!!! I was so mad
I praise him đŒ...I'm never gonna forget " Careless Whisper" by George Michael...
I love Heavy Metal but I have to admit that I started doing the hand dance thing when NKOTB came on!!!....lol
Shows a picture of Aladdin Sane
"So this is Ziggy stardust"
HUH??!
Madison, please stahp it with the "this is a CLASSIC!" You're making the term redundant :p
What she knows or doesn't know is less of an issue to me. The teens in general suffer from overusing terms they've heard someplace and trying to make cool, or thinks it makes them cool by using it. "Stop trying to make X happen, it's not going to happen!"
how do they not know who george michael is
8:05 BOWIE BOWIE BOWIE BOWIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! AHHHHHHH
college kids or adults react to 80's new wave / alternative !!
