Watching you demo install the barrel mounted front sight with the 45° offset sight on the rail made me laugh. Thought this could be a redo of the Most Tactical Rifle video. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date with latest gear!

You have to do the Apollo, but I do want to see both. These look really interesting.

nice overview. i agree with your thoughts on a barrel mounted sight as opposed to rail mounted.
although that particular sight isnt really my cup of tea.
i replaced the A2 front sight/gas block on my modded FN 16" M4 with a PRI G2 gas block/folding front sight to fix the image quality degradation of my Primary Arms 1-8x ACSS SFP scope caused by zooming through the A2..
the A2 sight was visible on 1x and actually co-witnessed with the ACSS reticle and was no issue for me.
but as i zoomed up through 3x to 4x and beyond, leaving the A2 behind completely a "milky" optical blurr or "film" remained all the way to 8x.
its one of those weird things that optics do and it was degrading the optical image of my 1-8x by a good amount.
so, even though i didnt want to spend any more money on my pet project FN M4/RECCE carbine, i couldnt see dealing with the optical image of a $100 scope when i spent almost $600 between it and the ADM recon qd mount and mag adjust levers, scope caps etc.
so i bit the bullet and plopped another $182 down.
it was the best $182 spent on that rifle except the scope itself.
not only does it totally elliminate the problem with optical performance of the scope, but it also provides an excellent front back up iron sight that teams very well with my Magpul MBUS rear sight.
also when folded, the PRI G2 sight is almost entirely absent from view in my scope while set on 1x. only the top 1/5 of the sight is visible which is much better than i would have had with even the lowest profile folding front sight atop the handguard rail or a low profile pic rail gas block.
by 1.5x the sight is completely absent from view.
and as youve mentioned, being attached to the barrel is much more stable and consistent for accuracy as compared to a handguard mounted sight.
im convinced the combo gas block/folding front sight is the way to go and plan to install one on all my builds and any M4 style rifles i may purchase.

Can you mount the sight to any barrel? Or you have to mount it to the proprietary Ultradyne muzzle device?

It'll be interesting on how you get that front sight aligned perfectly vertical to the gun. At least you can fine-adjust it in the field if it isn't.

It wasn't that bad actually, but it doesn't need to be perfect either. You would make any corrections during your zero.

If you go big, you'll probably stay with it. Who wants any recoil !

Looks neat but as far as the front sight mounted at the muzzle brake.. I think I would just opt for a decent barrel that was notched for a regular F marked front sight....
I can testify to the fact that that front sights mounted on cheap floating handgards will lose zero when knocked around but they are usually the 45 degree sights for close quarter..

Right, but then you're not freefloated and subject to all the non-freefloat issues that we tend to see.

that Apollo looks like a steroid-version of the PA M4-72, which already is famous for blast concussion. Probably double ear-pro with that Apollo (and the M4-72), although it's still just 5.56.

Yep, they are up there in price for irons. Should be fun seeing what they can do at range though.
