I know I'm late but this has to be pointed out, I've heard people say that Jean got swapped during the Phoenix angle but here's the loophole, regular Phoenix was Jean herself while Dark Phoenix was a cosmic clone of Jean. In the comics when Jean sacrificed herself, the Phoenix created a cosmic clone of her to do the Dark Phoenix while the real Jean was in a cocoon created by the Phoenix to rest & heal her body. I know that sounds completely far-fetched (& trust me it is 100%) but that's comics for ya.

@@sophiawilson8696 I was disappointed because they told thereâs going to be epic space fights but was cancelled due to capt marvel. Also, Phoenix didnât even show up it was all flame covering Jeanâs body. No manifestation of the bird unlike in Xmen Apocalypse.

Despite the fact that Jean has all the pregnacy memorys too and they share almost the same DNA. They have a bond, and dispite the love they share, jean anso loves him for Maddy. Cable said jean wasnt her mother in a moment of anger/hurt. Its a very sad and complex situation

Except Phoenix Force fire isn't the typical fire that just burns. If you had watched the original series, you would have seen how Jean/Phoenix actually enveloped everyone in Phoenix fire when she teleported or shielded them. In this episode, you can also see that Jean is completely made of Phoenix fire herself while surrounded by water. The water raptor manifestation the and blue aura were used to show that this was Jean in control and manifesting the Phoenix in her own way.
Anyone who a x-men knew she was gonna become the Phoenix and solved everyone problems.

The Phoenix is never truly gone. Jean is the corporal manifestation of the Phoenix force. It may leave her but it is never gone. Otherwise there would be no life. Here Phoenix was allowing Jean to draw from a fraction of its power. But in the comics Jean has been seen to forcefully make the Phoenix resurrect her and stuff like that.
Actually Jean is the begining of The Phoenix, she is the mother of The Phoenix and The Phoenix it self. It is weird but it has stated in the last comics published the last week.

It was so satisfying morph got to taunt sinister at the end.
What I love about the "neutral" phoenix force is how selective its work is. It should have enough power to erase virtually all those threatening it, but doesn't do that here. Instead, it chooses very specific solutions, undoing only what is no longer necessary. There's such beauty to an unimaginably powerful entity making carefully considered choices. Great power and even greater responsibility.
