I love the fact that Morph can turn into other superheroes and dangerous animals but their most common fighting technique is still “gun”.

This was before Morph got adapted to the comics. Back in the 90's he was just an OC, loosely based on a body double of Professor X, named Changeling and a D-List villain actually named Morph. He was just meant to be a red shirt to die in the pilot as a way to show how high stakes the story was going to be. Morph got popular and they brought him back for season 2 and made him canon in the comics, one character in Age of the Apocalypse and a multiverse version of himself in the time traveling EXiles. Around this time Morph got a massive buff to their powers and a more fleshed out backstory.

Well he was supposed to have stayed dead originally.
Morph got adapted to the comics around the time the cartoon inspired Age of the Apocalypse and they went in better depth for their powers. The cartoon just had him as a knockoff Mystique until he returned in Courage

I'm torn because Morph basically doing the relationship Wolverine and Nightcrawler had in the Claremont days. I hope they do something different and keep it an unrequited love or stir up additional drama. Like maybe Morph finds someone and Wolverine finds himself getting jealous.

Yea, he's an upgrade from mystique, although he can not coppy the full powers of some people like Juggernaut. Although he can turn into him, he isn't unstoppable, and he can not copy Wolverine adamantium claws
My theory is that they can only copy physical ability’s like speed, flight, strength ect but as other mutant abilities like energy blast, electricity, fire they can’t

The 97 show is doing for morph what batman tas did for harley quinn. Ive never seen the admiration for Morph this high on any point of their existence

Kevin was introduced in 1966 as an antagonist to the original 5 X-Men and member of the Factor Three terrorist group. His name was Changeling and used Banshee as an enforcer. After Kevin unveiled their leader Mutant Master to be an alien invader he changed heart and became a hero to defeat it. Then Kevin was diagnosed with cancer and struck a deal with Xavier to impersonate him while Xavier went on a secret mission. In an incident Grotesque killed ChangelingXavier leaving the X-Men devastated. Years later Kevin was resurected as Morph after his hit appearance in XTAS with his white putty form.
Morph, the X-Man who can transform into whatever he wants and mimic voices and powers, and who was also one of the most dangerous enemies of the X-Men. And yet, there are some people who see him as "useless" and "weak". It's weird, really
Morph is powerful but he can't copy any powers, just their physical abilities. That why we only see him turn into people like colossus, the hulk or mr fantastic.
Which is why I thing morph is the best shapeshifter
He basically has the same powers as mystique and I don't see anyone calling her useless.
Except Mystique can't copy powers. Like Morph turns into Quicksilver and can run at superspeed, while if Mystique turns into Quicksilver, she'll just run at normal speed

Hmm good question I think kitty abilities are considered psionic not physical so he wouldn’t be able to copy them

I know (and understand why) people tend to find Morph’s goblin laugh from the 1992 cartoon annoying, but I personally find it funny for some reason (especially at 0:05, 0:14 and 0:24)

I'd love to know just how well Morph can copy someone's abilities. Like, they can mimic the musculature that makes Quicksilver so fast, but are they AS fast as him?
He can copy abilities if they come from parts of the body, like Hulk's stamina, Quick Silver's speed, or the ability to fly with angel wings. However, he can't copy abilities that come from psychic, energy blast, or magic cmiiw

According to the comic book version this Morph is based on, the more they know about the subject they're mimicking, the more they can emulate. Like hyper metabolizing the unstable molecules in their body to emulate Quicksilver's super speed, condensing them to emulate Colossus' invulnerability, or generate any martial weaponry like claws and swords from their body. Morph can't emulate super strength unless they increase their mass into someone that has super strength and on the reverse side, needs to turn into someone thin and nimble to emulate super agility. None of the forms are ever as good as the original though.

Morph was like a James Woods type character but in the new season he has a more spicy Eric Effiong acting. I guess all that time with Mr. Sinister really change him.

now that he has superspeed, i consider him the second most dangerous member on the team after jean grey.
The upgrade for Morph of being a combination of Mystique and someone like Hope Summers is insane. I would if they have to encounter the superhuman whose powers they are imitating, and how much control the have.
Also, I wonder if the power upgrade is from experience or because of Sinister

Morph needed more screen time in the og, and got in 97'. I don't like how they (showrunners) turned their black hair in og to brown; slimmed their muscles and much less of their snickering laugh, and widen the yellow on Morph's outfit in 97'. I do hope Morph shows more, like 50-50, of their human face us 90's kids r used to, next season.

So Morph ability is same like Mystique or different? It seems that Morphs can also use the power of the person they imitate. Mystique only changes the physical form of the person she imitates.

He can only copy physically abilities in the show in the comics he can naturally enhance his strength shapeshift and fly
I really do wish there were scenes where the characters talk about or exhibit the limits of their powers. Something as simple as Morph copying Wolverine's claws but being unable to cut down a door or wall that Wolverine proceeds to effortlessly obliterate, showing that his abilities are just surface level imitations that are good in a quick scrap but nowhere near as strong as the original.
@@Dalton_Boardman2000Exactly. They can't copy the adamanitum coating them, so while they are deadly, they aren't as lethal as the genuine article. When they fought Wolverine that one time, Logan sliced right though Morph's claws.
