You know what’s weird is that technically it is pop disco, but it doesn’t even feel like it for some reason, it just feels like a classic pop song that’ll grow heavy nostalgia in the future.
I’m definitely tired of songs that use the same modern disco formula, so when a song like this doesn’t invoke that fatigue I know she did it right and we need more of that🔥

Sabrina’s biggest hits (Nonsense, Feather and ESPECIALLY Espresso) feel like they were designed in like a lab to be the most perfect, addictive pop songs. Everything about them just scratches an itch in my brain that I didn’t know needed itching. Nonsense is such an (intentionally) stupid song, but it works and it works so well. I think a big part of that is Sabrina herself. Sis has the *IT* factor in a way that most modern pop girlies don’t. I truly hope that SC5 (or SC6 if you count the two Singular acts as seperate albums, which I don’t) continues the retro sound that makes Espresso so good
Period! Sabrina deserves to have her main pop girl moment! Everything about her just SCREAMS it girl to me!
I think they work so well because she isn’t afraid to have fun with her music. She doesn’t take herself seriously and you can see it in all those three songs. She’s naturally a funny gal and you can easily hear it. She’s tongue in cheek but in a cheerful manner rather than in an edgy way. There is nothing wrong with being playful and fun and she isn’t afraid to show that part.
@@Mtv20O1exactly!! Her Nonsense outros really highlight her humor. They’re inuendo filled without being like overly explicit or crass. She’s shown she has an “edgier” sense of humor, but there’s a charm to it

I remember a few months ago people didn’t understand her artistry because all they thought was that “she’s a pretty face” and that’s it but she has so much personality you can hear it in her songs she’s funny but not in a cringy or try hard way
there are def are other artists that do tongue and cheek lyrics but those are typically seen as more angsty and edgy which is seen more acceptable for whatever reason idk Sabrina has a lot of character and I’m just glad she isn’t afraid to show that side a lot of other artists in her field lack a personality

Not only does she have the star power, she has the RANGE and the KNOWLEDGE. Like watching interviews with her, it’s clear that while she may be viewed as a main pop girlie, she has the knowledge and respect for other genres and the desire to experiment with her sound

I'm an Ari Stan so i was drawn to her and her aesthetic right away. While I can see the influence, she definitely has her own brand and style. The chunky heels, the calm and controlled dancing, her own signature moves (the high kick and shimmy), how she sings, funny outros for nonsense etc. You get the picture. Lol
I'm also excited bc she put in WORK. I'm tired of these microwaveable TikTok acts.

I think that her image and marketing is very well done, like she does switch up a lot of her looks have a lot of girly details to them and she’s wears looks that are properly styled for her. Her makeup also goes well with her features and don’t overpower them. The overall vibe of her style has been so consistent that it’s easy for people to take inspiration from it, that’s why we’ve seen so many people try to recreate her fun looks.
I think that with a lot of her most popular songs being so upbeat and invoking happiness along with her cute style and marketing that it makes sense for her to be the next pop girly.

We were really missing some happy bops. This and Good Luck Babe (even if it’s not necessarily a happy topic, it has an upbeat to it) will be the songs of the summer. It’s catchy and fun. Not every song out there has to be meaningful. It’s just nice to hear a playful song that isn’t about heartbreak or sadness. I saw people complain that she purposely made this song for the charts and the radio, and if she did, who cares?? She has other songs in her discography that are more “meaningful” but not evey song that gets released needs to be about a deep topic. I’m just glad people are finally starting to make happy bops, we had such a drought of it obviously due to the pandemic but we need more cheerful and carefree songs! Sabrina is cheeky and fun in her songs and she did not miss with this one.
I agree, Espresso is just a happy, fun pop song which is not what the big pop hits of the past few years have been. It's a breath of fresh air.

I feel like the wit and humor in her songs are fresh compared to some more of the dark and edgy music that is more popular today.
I think her acting experience also gives her performances a lot of spunk and personality.

I think she’s just a breath of fresh air, most songs nowadays are so dull, moody, people want to have fun it’s summer no one wants to be sad, or even if you are listening to those type of things and you want a change from it you play espresso and it gets you on a good mood. Also the vibes, the aesthetic of it all and performing it for the first time on coachella was a huge yes for her team. I read that dua lipa was offered coachella and rejected it because she was going yo release her album later on and it would’ve probably help her numbers and get viral videos of it, and people to pay attention to the release, idk it seems like sabrina got it right with this releasing it the day before and getting huge exposure help it a lil bit more

I'm so happy that she's getting the attention she deserves- and the RIGHT one at that. I still remember how things blow up so badly because of the Olivia and Josh mess, and people were trying to make her look like the villian. Little did they do, Sabrina is talented. Even before, Espresso (which I love), girl has hits: Feather, Fast Times (severely underrated), Nonsense, so many hits.

I’m so happy she’s getting the recognition she’s deserved! To think she almost didn’t add nonsense to the album. That always blows my mind. But she’s definitely here to stay. Also she has so much knowledge when it comes to the classics that you can tell from the way her music sounds to her stage presence to the way she presents herself. Her adding a hint of her humor to the music gives it that personal touch that instantly makes you think of her and has everyone anticipating what she’ll sing next. She’s here to stay!

I’d like to hear your opinion so far on little mix solo music. So far jesy , Leigh Anne and perrie have released music with Leigh Anne doing the most so far. Jade has yet to debut which will happen this summer. I think Leigh Anne has the best music taste and pen game and creative mind. She has two singles DSL and my love and currently releasing 5 ep songs two so far called stealing love and forbidden fruit (her best songs so far) she doesn’t have the fan support perrie has but I believe in a slow burn. Her music doesn’t fit the uk audience so she should target America and Brazil imo. Perries song I really like her but her song Forget about us is extremely generic and didn’t help her stand out. I thought she’d have bigger hype than she does but her numbers have chart wise been similar to Leigh Anne who is the least popular 👀 I think the song was not strong enough so I will give her a chance to release something that wasn’t sent by Ed Sheeran and more from her. Jesy flopped hard I have no deep comment for her. Sorry this is long 😂
