  • Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is a steel roller coaster that was created by Anton Schwarzkopf and designed by Werner Stengel. The ride officially opened on May 16, 1980, marking it as the park's second roller coaster. Soaring to a maximum height of 60.7 feet (18.5 m) and accelerating to a top speed of 41 miles per hour (66 km/h), Scorpion spans a total length of 1,817.6 feet (554.0 m). It is noteworthy that Scorpion is one of three Silver Arrow models created by Anton Schwarzkopf, distinguished by its permanent support structure. Following the closure of Python in 2006, Scorpion proudly holds the title of the oldest operating roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
