    FINALLY a festival essentials video that speaks the truth and not from someone who's staying in a hotel the whole time showing off the 12 makeup pallets and 30 crop tops that you 'need'

    Aw Helen, you didn't mention sunscreen! It's probably common knowledge but I'm really scared of sunburns. So yeah, I noticed it. Great vid babe, got a lot of extra tips out of it!

    Ductape is vital, theres so many uses for it! Just incase theres tears and what not and you can build awesome beer staffs with them XD Plasters/ first aid, AND A TORCH! for moving around when theres a bazillion tents in front of you in the pitch black dark, and bumbag to store all money/phone/I.D/cards/expensive shit (last year friends tent got robbed £200 in the first night). Also caffeine tablets because it gets exhausting camping and going to see bands, pillows/sleeping bag/cutlery/binbags/clothes/sunlotion, makeup and lastly a mini hair brush because my hair gets wild and knotted. Without this being too much of a list, DONT FORGET YOUR TICKET GUYS! Have fun!

  • @HelenHobden
    @HelenHobden Před 9 lety +8

    Great list! I'd add chapstick, feminine supplies (tampax is so expensive at festivals) and a few bin bags - take one with you each day to sit on when the ground is wet.

    i always bring a lilo to sleep on, much better than sleeping on the hard floor, takes like 10 mins to blow it up and then you can just leave it there cos they're only cheap. i also buy one of those £2 pillows from tesco that come rolled up so its small and easy to pack, gotta love the extra comfort!!

    I've done a fair few festivals over the last three years and I'd say my biggest tip is take loads of cereal/breakfast bar things. Because they're made to substitute breakfast they keep you full for ages and you save so much money because you only have to eat once in the arena!

    @VivaLaAlice Před 9 lety

    Bin Bags; bins get ridiculously overfull at festivals so when you're trying to pack away on the sunday it's a good idea to have a bin for yourself! Or if your clothes are wet, keeps them separate from your dry stuff, or muddy boots and they're SO USEFUL for putting on the base of your tent (like inside) incase it rains because nobody bringing a proper groundsheet to a festival. Plus they weigh NOTHING. Also string and pegs. Trust me, even if you don't end up using them they only weighed a tiny amount. Wine in boxes for cheap drinking and no decanting from glass (tesco do like white and rose I think in the same size cartons as juice so you don't need to buy a whole box of wine). And for food; cereal bars and dried fruit. Nutritious and energy filled and SUPER light (for when you get those famous 'drinking' munchies Helen mentioned ;) ) I had my first festival (Reading) last year but had a bloody load of camping experience that I incorporated, and I must say these are the must haves. And be prepared to pay 3 quid for a shit cup of tea.

      @helenanderz  Před 9 lety +21

    • @fpvbirdseye
      @fpvbirdseye Před 2 lety

      @@helenanderz There were cases when people died after taking 10 tablets of paracetamol and later drinking 200ml of vodka. It damaged their liver so bad so it stopped working and they died few weeks after. Good video, but really should add it to the description since people literally can die from it.

    I try to compact EVERYTHING as much as possible because the walk in to download is a beast. I went as far to squeeze out portions of toothpast and put it in a tiny weed baggy lol. You could put your big bottle of spritzer in a tiny spray bottle you get from super drug the empty ones just so it's not so beefy. It was a godsend my rosewater spirtz with the heatwave.
    Also Instead of a towel I bring a micro fibre one. BEcause they're so itty bitty tiny like the size of a tensi ball but absorbs all the water if you brave the showers. The showers really arn't that bad you just cant be shy about getting your hoohah and boobies out.
    I make a hangover mix that I put into a smoothie (I have bought smoothies with me for the morning and they've lasted in intense heat without going funky) It's just crushed paracetamol, spirunela, ginger shavings, coconut oil in a bag for electrolytes and whatever else health stuff u can shove in there that wont go mouldy. Just my main issue when at festivals is staying awake with all the excersize and heat. So Kale crisps are good for staying awake too. (HAHA i sound like a right square there are OTHER Things people take to stay awake but you know)
    Bring a camping chair especially if its a big group of you. If you have a chair your in the circle lol.
    Oh and look up female urinal. not the sheewees they fucking suck they just make wee go everywhere but the flask type wee things are really good. The amount of beer you drink through the day makes you piss like anything, men can go to a bush but girls have to go to the porta potty every fucking 10 minutes. So just pee in that in your tent it wont spill and chuck it far away from any tents. My camp always camps far away froma ny porta potty so i'd miss half the night if I was going to be a lady about peeing. < If you can call the porta pottys lady like D: haha.

    Just so you know I worked at Love Saves The Day festival the other week and selfie sticks were BANNED! I thought it was a ridiculous thing to have on contraband items (along with the usual illegal stuff and fireworks etc.) and I didn't think many people would bring selfie sticks to have them taken off them when they entered the site but unfortunately we did have a small collection by the end of each day! Another thing not really festival essential, but sort of. Don't just bring one pair of jeans. Cause they may rip on a fun fair ride in the arena and then you have to walk around in ripped jeans cause your leggings were drying in your tent. Not like that happened to me or anything.. So, pro tip - more than one pair of trousers/ maybe even 3 pairs of trousers. And, remember to take babywipes into the arena, cause when a bottle of piss gets thrown at the stage and you are standing near the front, you will get splashed, and then smell of wee. So gross. D: yay festivals though! Need to go to some more next year. xx
