three years later and i’m still upset this isn’t on itunes or spotify 😭
CZcams Music :)
prefer it over Spotify because of the live performances that Spotify lacks
He has an innate sense of quantum physics. I wish he had more songs like this.
This guy touches my soul.
This Dude's calves must be sick.
The secret to actually growing calves!

Wtf! Why hasn't this blown up!?🔥
He did somewhat recently and it’s not the same at all anymore. Saw him live 3 times in past several years and he doesn’t preform anymore, he just seems a bit wasted and goes on political tangents and jams out a bit haphazardly. Makes me sad he didn’t keep it real 🥺
@@andreaarnold4522 thanks for the update.
@@jaymeanderson5121 I saw him back in 2018 and it was totally immense. Best live gig I've been to.
this is... beautiful...
I can't wait to buy these sessions. I've taken a listen to his albums on Bandcamp and it's just not quite the same. His live performances are stunning.
He came in Montréal last week at the Jazz Fest! I discovered him, and now I'm in love!
yeah, that performance in Montreal captivated me too! And my son. And my wife. This fella has developed unique musical skills and delivers a lot of spirited energy and soulful expression live. The liveandbreathing crew have made some excellent videos of him too. THANKS Guys and gals.
Love this...and not just because the titles contains my name
It's just an excuse to keep this song as a personal treasure.
Hi Daisy! ✌️
These years sure have passed
Lots of feels. Hard hitting. That delivery..
Pls put on album!!
Сразу видно - человек с душой поет. Спасибо!
I'm with you! I do NEED it on my listening devices. pronto
I saw him at the Jazz fest too he did a fantastic job!!
HAHA! Saw him in Montreal too! I'm hooked!
Very cooooool!!!!
Unique. True.
Hang in there Keilah, the audio from these sessions will be available for purchase soon! And Shakey's album versions sound much different (still awesome, but different), but he really shines live.

Holy shit!
I'd really like to know what is behind these lyrics - the meaning, what it's about exactly... Mr. Graves, this song moves me.
I think it's about being out at war and wanting to come home, just being tired of it... I might be wrong, but that's what I've always interpreted it to be.
"Yeah, but no home in sight
Yeah, that banner's fly
Oh scarlett white and blue
Yeah well my brothers and me
woah, we'll hang from our family tree
as the boys who fought and died
for you, my lord"
Emma Thanks Emma. That makes sense. I think I now appreciate the song in a slightly enhanced way.
Ross Rohan To build off of what Emma said I'll throw in my two cents...
In the beginning I think he's trying to avoid war either physically or mentally by asking this Mona Lee to marry him. And if she can't imagine "my hands in wedding bands" he'll go off to war without comfort or solace.
Towards the end, "my soul flew away" I speculate that he either died at war or a part of him died at war when he came back.
Throughout the song he sings about "daisy chains". I think that these chains made from daisies were used in marriage back then when couples were exchanging their vows and they would tie these chains around their arms to signify them tying their lives together. Since this girl won't marry him he's tying his daisy chains to war and life without a home.
Again, just my two cents and thanks for reading them :)
+Hardwire Super old comment to reply to, I know, but "Daisy chaining" means doing a dull, repetative, fruitless activity over and over without end. It does originate from making literal chains of daisies as a way to pass time. So in relation to the song, if he cant marry his girl, he'll spend his life without meaning, just doing the same thingsover and over until he dies -in this case, in war.
Super old, though always relevant; kind of like revisiting an old poem :) Thanks so much for sharing this by the way. There are so many beautiful interpretations to this song but today I think I like yours the best.
thats a nice guitar.
They've uploaded 666 videos! OH NO! Quick upload more performances from Shakey!
Woody sings?
Why isn't he on Itunes?? I know you can download it on his website, but it never works when I try. I would honestly pay double to have this mans amazing music on my iPod. Oh well, guess I'll have to stick to CZcams...
what type of guitar is that? I need tix to burnstown show!! I missed out
Looks like a Loar 650 or 350. I'm almost certain it's a 650.
Yeah. Beaut guitars
This song 🐃
Not a fan of this version, but if you do or don't like this rendition, try the same song different at Shakey Graves "Daisy Chain" at OpenAir over there --------------------->>>>>>>>>
I'll give ya, that's a good version... but that's the thing with SG, isn't it? He can make one tune sound like many, changing tone, tempo, etc... he's a master of dynamics.
first song I heard was Built to Roam and thought it was great. disappointed now to hear the other songs sound exactly the same but not as good.
