SO Eric Andre is there because he is good at pranking. Johnny is there because he is good at pranking... And fat black chick is there because of representation. Got it.
still waiting on TOP 10 FILMS OF 2016
I first started watching your videos after seeing you on EFAP and I thought your sense of humour was right up my alley so I decided to check out your channel/s and I'm reeeeeeeally glad I did - I've been non stop laughing for weeks now 😂
adam WHY would you even remotely think that the prank show is REAL lol i laughed at your critique of the HA laugh track but those emotions are OBVIOUSLY SCRIPTED jes*s lol how anyone can watch "prank shows" like that is beyond me... the laugh tracks are so 80s and i hate laugh tracks but even worse is yall act like that shi is real lol cringe
Should have been Prank Tank.
This looks like a TV show in GTA IV
Killer
I mean physically battering your co-host was literally a bit in Fame or Shame
That's too generous. This looks like a TV show from Borderlands 3.
dude thats a perfect comparison lmao
I have 764 hours of GTA IV: The Complete Edition played on steam and I agree
And they didn’t call it “Shark Prank”?
THANK YOUUUUUU!!!
tbh i would not be surprised if it was called that or even just pitched as that and some executive and/or legal told them to change it.
Or "Prank Tank".
@@FraterSbevePrank Tank rolls off the tongue better.

But it’s not an actual pun
The gay couple prank was so sad. Clearly the pranked partner was sitting there feeling many things at once and cannot react on a single one of them in the moment. Our life together was a lie, I'm mad at him, I'm sad at what we had, etc. He's trying to talk with him on this very personal issue. Then it's revealed it's a prank, and he's just relieved and annoyed. Pranks that do anything more than playfully confuse someone are not good pranks, and are simply mean.
Yeah, I disagree with Adum, that was TOTALLY dystopian.
Just For Laughs is a PERFECT prank show, not mean and vile. This? Disgusting.
black mirror episode
@@SzokynyovicsWhy do you disagree with Adam he said he also thought it was a mean spirited prank.
I probably would have walked out. You could tell the poor guy was crushed.
That relationship likely did not last.
I like how this show is just some weirdo tasing a guy repeatedly while a woman watches
Is that a fetish?
Lmaoo im surprised Gabourey wasn't the one that walked out like that's so annoying and then having Johnny be like "did I do thaaaaat"
sounds like my friday nights
This show epitomises "lowest common denominator"
I cannot see how anyone finds anything worthwhile about this kind of "content"
@@sydneyp7867literally how he’s like “but he squirted me with water :(((“
I was so confused how Eric Andre could produce something this bad.
Then, I realized Jimmy Kimmel was involved. That explains it.
If you’re looking for a great prank movie produced by jimmy Kimmel, watch “Windy City Heat”. It is one of the funniest movie of all time and I’m not even joking when I say that.
You “realized” it when Adum mentioned that Kimmel was one of dozens of other famous people producing the show.
That explains it.
@@jakeklutts864 ...Yes. Yes, that's what I said.
krimmy jimmle just casts a blanket of mediocrity on anything he works on
Have you seen Eric's stand up?
The weird thing about the cheating partner prank is that he’s pretending to betray his partner by _actually_ betraying his partner.
And making the person think they're being cheated on? Sounds traumatizing
I would think it would add as much strain to their relationship, but I have no idea of their personal dynamic.
I appreciate Adum leveraging his expertise to critique the authenticity of the fursuits.
The prank with the gay couple is so horrible because you can tell that the guy with the Trolls haircut that pulled the "prank" is the problem in their relationship. The boyfriend/husband was stunned but wasn't caught off-guard by his significant other laughing through a traumatic moment being inflicted upon his partner. That man needs to run immediately.
I don't think you watched the show.
Eric Andre and Johnny knoxville are very different in terms of what their shows are about. Eric is about making people (usually strangers or guests) uncomfortable or confused by being weird and random. Johnny is about painful or fear-factor type stunts or pranks inflicted upon guys who are paid a decent amount of money to be victims in a show most of them would otherwise not like to be a part of. I don't honestly know anything about the lady except for Adam's review of her movie.Putting them in the same show, one would expect there to be some friction there. Ultimately Johnny treated Andre like he would one of the guys on jackass, and Andre couldn't deal with it, as most people wouldn't. The creators thought throwing together some funny pranky guys would work well without considering their backgrounds, or how the show would work in practice.
Well, I mean honestly I can see how putting those two together would work if you can maintain a sensible and comfortable boundary on what they’re BOTH cool with. Having two people on different ends of the prank-spectrum like that means that you can get a good variety of types of pranks. I think that’s why Gabrielle was there, to bridge that gap a little. It’s just unfortunate that it didn’t seem to really play out like that with the tazing thing.
There is a LOT of excess dead weight on this panel.
@@realityvanguard2052 Yeah I'm sure part of that was the need to have a woman hosting the show, and her being a POC is like a 2 for 1 for tv executives. But also like Andre she wouldn't work on a Johnny Knoxville type production. And it seems weird to have 2 well-known pranksters and one not very well known non-prankster. Honestly none of them make sense for this show. And the show itself would have to be rethought in order to work anyway. This is a case study of a project without a vision.
They have worked together before, though, although maybe not directly. Eric Andre was on the Jackass Forever movie. Of his experience on set, he has said the following: "Goddamn, I was so nervous on the Jackass set, because every chair you sit in, every square inch, there could be an explosive or a venomous snake. There's nowhere safe, they're constantly filming you and they're constantly f---ing with you".
I feel like he did know what he signed up for with Knoxville. But, maybe he expected something different from this show?
Edit: just watched the Howard stern interview with Eric andre. It's quite obviously he enjoyed this whole thing, but it was too much for him to deal with it haha. And after this whole ordeal they did continue to finish the show. Only after Andre quit twice.
This is more like jerry lawler VS Andy kaufman, where they both respect each other but still go to the limit. It looks worse than it is in their way of thinking about the world, I think.
Still a bad show, sadly.
@@PipEnigmaAndre's pranks can be performed on anyone, as they are at worst annoying or uncomfortable. Johnny's pranks only work with specific people who are willing to undergo extreme pain and fear. They cannot work with anyone else on this show much less strangers for obvious reasons. Really doesn't make sense for them to share the same show. It's not just two ends of a spectrum, it's two opposing genres.
Man, that "prank" with the secret family is really hard to watch.
It's so uncomfortable and weird.
Ikr. I might be projecting, but his reaction really gave "You won't live till tomorrow/We're done". As an introvert who hates surprises, pranks are never fun for me or the person who does one on me, bc I take everything at face value & my end reaction is weak. Doesn't mean I don't have a sense of humour, there are just better mediums for humour than lying to people while putting them in vulnerable, uncomfortable situations.
Even if the couple seems like an "opposites attract" one, the prankster should've known he wouldn't like this.
I agree. I also want to mention that the other guy looks like a gay George W. Bush
I actually thought that was really funny.
Apparently Just for Laughs has its own version of this prank.
I feel like it wouldn't have happened it it was a straight couple. It feels like a part of the 'shock' is this the supposed feeling that this gay man is revealing his true authentic - straight - self.
Thank you for making me aware of that specific part of the laugh track that I won't ever ignore ever again.
I had to listen for myself so I opened the last upload of theirs, and there it was with all it's weird glory
Imposing a restricted format ("Shark Tank") onto the chaotic energy of Eric Andre & Johnny Knoxville sounds like a disaster.
Johnny Knoxville being like "yea I am just kind of a huge piece of shit asshole" is pretty amazing
I strive for that greatness everyday
I guess. I'm just not very impressed by honesty when you could just not be an ass.
Be fair to Johnny z he's been Doing jackass for decades and a good Chunk of his Nerves are Burned Up.
Andre Having to 1Up this "Cape Fear-Tard" Freak without malicious Force is not Fun or Funny.// It's like Blasting "Cum town" with your Girlfriend and she's Vexed by all the Dad sex.
It was already obvious- didnt need to say it lol. He's basically a rich teenager who never grew up.
@@helios566Seeing someone upset about Johnny Knoxville being an ass, a jackass if you will, is so surreal.
Some people truly just care more about clout than their actual long term relationships. Hope that one guy recognized the signs and just left that toxic relationship.
Yeah, that is not something a sane person does to their partner... friend... hell, ANYONE. :(
Playing Devil's Advocate here: maybe they offered him a HUGE amount of money? Like building our dream house money, or at least giant wedding plus fancy destination honeymoon money. Enough that he thought his partner would consider worth of a few hours of extreme psychological torture.

Just curious have you ever thought about just not being a furry and spending your time on something more worth the time and less socially not respected?
@@stephengehly2319 How even..?
First up, "spending your time on something more worth the time"? For one, being a furry isn't a job. People can be, and most likely are, furries without spending additional time on being a furry, but rather just having a different persona online. Buying fursuits is also not something many furries do. And let's be real, does anyone work 16 hours a day? Everyone has free time, and most people spend their free time on stupid things, such as you spending your free time mocking other people's use of their free time.
And second, "[spending your time on something] less socially not respected"? For one, what you are essentially telling people to do is to succumb to peer pressure. But even without that element, do you know _why_ furries are generally not respected? Here's a hint: It's not an actual rational reason. Rather, people dislike furries because furries are different. That's it. And such stuff like "furries do XYZ!" and "furries are all XYZ!" were made up only so that said people can justify what is essentially nothing more than in-group/out-group mentality.
You should probably learn what a furry actually is, since you seem to not know anything about them beyond the word itself. And beyond that, you should learn to have fun in life. Thinking all the time about what is "cringe" and what is "uncool" will not bring you anything but suffering. As long as something brings no harm to you or others it is perfectly fine to do, like how furries do no harm to anyone (including animals, the rumour that furries "do" animals is completely made up and not a single furry will do or support such behavior). After all, it's just a silly hobby. Why should you care about someone's hobby?
@@stephengehly2319 My brother, I’m not a furry, but every furry profile photo I see online has a PhD in their name and/or is weighing in on extremely niche conversations about like aircraft engineering and shit

the fucking ninjas oml throwback
Man I remember seeing commercials for this show in the break room at work, I was wondering who it was for. No one, it seems
I really wanted to like it but I could only make it through a couple of episodes before I just gave up. This video is really good at explaining why.
This show feels like the behind the scenes video for an actually good hidden camera prank show
I imagine if you showed all the raw footage of Borat, it would be equally bad.
13:30 the girl in the upper right corner had the exact same reaction as me
Regarding restructuring the show, I'd say take inspiration from a show like "Taskmaster" or "So You Think You're Funny?". Format it in a way that it's this tournament-style show where the contestants are amateur pranksters doing assigned pranks to demonstrate their creativity for the top prize and being assessed by the hosts/judges.
Just something to give it a sense of structure or add some kind of stakes to this show.
They already tried doing taskmaster USA it was such a complete disaster that Alex Horne said he would never try it again
@@thematiasmadness7010 Game Changer is a kind of spiritual Taskmaster USA. It’s not quite the same thing, but scratched the same itch in my experience.

Influence from taskmaster would work well here, yeah!
When you elevator pitch it to me that way, yes, I would absolutely watch that. Just professional pranksters judging amateur public pranks, interspersed with pranks on each other. Great idea, simple, much better.
On a side note, I really appreciate how you still have Precious and all of your older reviews up to watch on CZcams. Sure, your style is more defined and your techniques are more improved, but your old content is still very interesting!
Love his old M night Shamalamadingdong stuff.
The one DJ dude randomly talking in the microphone gave me flashbacks to watching Who Killed Captain Alex?
I really don't know why anybody would voluntarily be in the same room as Johnny Knoxville
I remember seeing the viral marketing and thinking, "Oh yeah, I could totally see watching that in a hotel room"
There's something oddly calming about being in a hotel room, that weird under the window AC fan blowing at -43 degrees Fahrenheit, putting on some God awful show you'd never watch at your own home and laying back on top of that stiff yet oddly comfortable bed and just vibing out for a bit.
The only clip I've seen was when she sat on a chair and it was a cake
I was so sure that black woman was Nicole Byers. Like I thought the cake prank was a reference to Nailed It!

It's just outdated. There are no name people who will do dumb prank videos on TikTok and CZcams for free. I don't see why this merits any degree of production value.
While I dont entirely disagree it being a show is supposed to give it a certain air of quality and autenticity.
Yeah buncha ppl on yt and tiktok do pranks but a lot of them either are not very good, are clearly staged or go way too far in ways that are obnoxious at best and cruel without comedy at worst.
Like who over the age of 15 watches prank channels? Ykwim?
Except what happens on TT/YT made by a bunch of children is a lot worse than this. I'm glad some old guys are trying to keep the actual good pranks alive but man, this was rough.

I have to disagree. As we already saw within the very same review, shows based around pranks are stil thriving. The issue is, just like Adam said is that it's way too bloated to be entertaining.

this is one of the shows they show at the beginning of MGS4
Thank you, would have never watched but the "bitch is this cake" sketch has lived in my head for a year.
I was NOT mentally prepared for the tonal shift. From how depressing that secret family prank was to the furry episode making me shrivel up and die. Thanks Adum for that emotional roller coaster.
This show having all these formerly great comedians and writers producing it just shows the consequences of selling out and what it really looks like to lack any self-awareness. Any one of those guys should have taken a second to look at what they were making and gone "this just isn't funny". Must have been someone controlling the whole thing that they didn't want to piss off; the whole thing reeks of Los Angeles brainrot.
It also just goes to show that a project having a bunch of respected names attached to it doesn't guarantee its success. Bring several comedy writing geniuses into the same writer's room and they're not going to write the funniest show of all time-they're going to butt heads on everything until they ultimately settle on some safe middle-of-the-road idea.

If it was cheap enough, even a meager amount of viewership might be enough, but I can't imagine it's that cheap given the panel.
As a UK resident I must say this sounds like a shitty version of PRANK PATROL. A kids show we used to have where one kid wanted to prank someone and the whole show was leading up to that prank but they had sketches of on the street pranks to mix it up. Super popular in the 00’s for CBBC and though slow by kids tv standards was about 25 minutes an episode
Sometimes I wonder what happened to those ninjas
I saw my cousin in one of the filler clips, man that’s trippy. Glad he’s on TV failing to pitch a prank
it seems like what happened was they tried to get eric andre and johnny knoxville for name recognition, but then tried to have them water their comedy down to a PG rating, shot a bunch of really expensive pranks that didn't get good reactions and didn't have enough footage to cut out all the misses, or enough budget to go shoot more material. the whole reason jackass and eric andre show worked was because they could just shoot massive amounts of footage at little-to-no cost and filter it down to the best 10-20 minutes.
You know what would probably fix this?
They pitch the pranks, it's really weird and awkward, nobody's into it and they just play up how awkward having a bad pitch can be. Like they just let it sit on the judges staring as they're like trying to explain it and stuff. And THEN actually do the bad prank and just keep that awkward energy going where nobody seems happy to be there, it's just watching this dumb stupid trainwreck actually happen before someone else tries to play it up or something.
Like make this the entire Eric Andre bit of the situation being really shitty and surreal and weird, but they're just sort-of rolling with it anyways and letting that vibe just carry the show.
I would love to see a show where a bunch of people just awkwardly struggle to explain bad ideas and then they just do ALL of the bad shit we have to listen to as we just see it play out and just not work at all, lol! If you played that right it could be like a Nathan for You scenario or something where you're just seeing these dumb ideas struggle to happen and the fact that it's so bad just becomes the bit.

"that's what a furry is: an always excited doggy."
I'm sorry, no, that's not what a furry is. Every furry I've met is an existentially depressed introvert with a cocktail of personality disorders, myself included.
I'm so tired of furries pretending like the fandom is some magical innocent wholesome thing. That needs to stop. As someone who used to be a closeted furry, I've seen some disgusting shit first-hand on discord servers that made me leave the community entirely. Before I left, there was a ton of grooming, which I'm positive still goes on unchecked.
I have never met a more dysfunctional, brain-rotted group of people in my life. Yes, some of my best friends are furries, I met wonderful people in the fandom who would never do anything to hurt anyone. But it might be one of the worst communities on the Internet when it comes to bad actors, I can't lie.
I really don't think anyone under 18 should join a furry community. I wish I hadn't.
Damn same

If this is a normie's perception of a furry then I'm not surprised why so many people hate them.
Seriously, Aqua Teen Hunger Force has a better representation of them than this.
Just for laughs gags is so good and effective, I've seen it for years while abroad in various different occasions and countries without even knowing it was Quebecois
Already saw the un censored patreon version but will give this another watch to help boost in the algorithm
I was going to say that this seems like a modern, AI generated, corporate version of AFV, but I didn't realize that AFV was still on the air.
I just saw the "magic prank show" on Netflix and it has the perfect combo of people coming to them saying "I want to do this prank on this person" and the show people knowing what to share about the prank with the pranker and what to leave a surprise for both them and the audience. 11/10

I'm sure they had a similar concept in the UK on children's TV, but kids would write in rather than have the whole shark tank / dragons den section making it much more watchable but then they wouldn't have all the comedians on a panel which is what i think they are aiming for.
