Yeah I feel like it’s a good idea to fill the villain quota first and eggman would be super fun
Sonic in general just needs more content. Given how iconic a franchise it is, and how it was Mario's first true rival, you'd think it would at least get the Mega Man treatment with the track list.
Depending on who the ARMS rep is, Eggman might be the only illegible choice. If we get Min Min, Spirits would have a shot, but not Assist Trophies, and Tails and Knuckles are already post-launch Mii Costumes. That being said, if it turns out to be Spring Man and/or Ribbon Girl, all bets are off and everyone has a chance. I'd be fine with anyone either way.

Absolutely amazing how it introduces the best part of Stardust Speedway in 2:40 with all that Metal Sonic HUEHUEHUE. This should be called Sonic CD Stardust Madness remix.

What if instead of Eggman, they added Metal Sonic as a semi-echo of Sonic? But there'd Eggman standing in the back and saying stuff to it, kinda like Pokémon Trainer.
@@Supershadow301 Metal Sonic would be his own fighter, having some attacks that are either just like Sonic's or in reference to Sonic's, just with a bit more Metal Sonic influence added to them.
@@StormadowTheHedgehog Better yet, Make Metal a temporary character you can switch to as Eggman, where Metal would have a very different playstyle to eggman and can counter some characters (Sonic and other speedy foes perhaps). Plus the Final smash could be the same in function but look different (S3&K Death Egg Robo laser beam towards the screen for eggman and a metal overlord laser attack for metal sonic)

How'd he play? Somewhat lighter Heavy, a lot of ranged bombs and things but relatively little mobility outside his B moves I guess?

He could use lots of his moves from previous games. For example, he could use the laser from the Metropolis boss, he could call in the drill tank and use that like Bowser Jr's. side B, except with a longer turn time and also it could go faster and deal more damage, he could use the Checker Wrecker and for his final smash, he could use the Death Egg Robot and crush everyone on the stage or knock them off.
Hey better have "I PISSED ON THE MOON YOU IDIOT!" as a taunt. Or better yet for his final smash Eggman uses his super laser piss on who ever gets caught in it. Or blows up the island your fighting on.

All of the major characters are fighting their respective villains, Mario and Bowser, Link and Ganon, Samus and Ridley, etc.
Sonic is just on the sidelines chilling, looking very bored.
All of a sudden, a bunch of missiles come towards them, hitting most of them. Sonic manages to outrun a few, but one eventually hits him, sending him flying. The others look up to see all the villains standing side by side on a cliff like Bowser Jr and Mega Man's trailers, and from above the villains comes floating down Eggman in his mech as the splash screen appears.

If Eggman gets in, his stage should be some kind of mix of the final stages of the classic Sonic games. That way, the stage hazards can be a mix of the final boss fights with Eggman/Metal Sonic piloting them (like how Toon Link/Alfonso works on Spirit Train)
That'd be cool, the Titanic Monarch in the background, the Sonic 1 final boss's pistons would be there in some form, maybe even the Death Egg Robot in the background

Keep in mind that audio sample actually comes from the song It Takes Two. Sonic CD used that sample in its songs too, along with a slew of other popular songs- Stardust Speedway (both present and bad future) is notorious for it.

Eggman doesn't even need his eggmobile to fight in smash. He's fast enough to keep up with sonic on numerous occasions (examples: sonic 2 and sonic lost world), he's strong enough to smash a monitor made of solid ice cubes into pieces (sonic lost world), he competes in the olympics, and he has enough gadgets to use as attacks, like blasters, wrecking balls, badniks, a jetpack, he can definetly work as a fighter without a vehicle.
Maybe but I prefer him in a vehicle, he needs it more than Bowser Jr at least

Well sonic cd is the best sonic game in my opinion. I think it definitely needs some of this action.
I want more music or remixes from the Sonic franchise in Smash, having Supah Sonic Racing and Sonic Boom is cool and all but i feel we're missing some awesome compositions, i don't know if SEGA or the music team of Smash that didn't allowed more compositions or remixes from this franchise.
I think that Smash's music team just doesn't have as much interest in sonic than they do in other games like Castlevania... Which really sucks, cuz now we only got one remix and Scrap Brain Zone included in around 16 tracks while the Castlevania boys get over 30 tracks with many remixes (and as a bonus, a bossfight).

I actually had another one of those random dreams a couple of days ago. This time, about Eggman being playable. I didn't even consider or think of this until I got the dream. The reason for not puting him in is Sakurai isn't as familiar with the games as demonstrated by the sonics content in the game (stages, spirits and classic mode) lacking the clever references that the others have.

I would absolutely freak out if Eggman's letter delivery would go something like this:
Eggman's casually fighting Sonic, and a military GUN helicopter randomly flies overhead. Eggman blasts it out of the sky and flies down to look at the rubble. But something catches his attention. A slightly burnt envelope is on the floor, and Eggman picks it up. He immediately recognizes it, and his splash screen appears.
I have my specific characters I want in, but if this mad lad got in as a sort of Bowser Jr. like vehicle character i wouldn't even be mad, cause that looks amazing
