Creeper cursor is a cool concept in principle, but the problem is that you can always cheese these maps by immediately rushing the rift lab. There isn't a single CC map which doesn't have wins in under 5 minutes because you just walk creeper up to their base and hold your mouse over it for a few seconds.
Anti-creeper cursor ends up being more engaging mechanically in my opinion for this reason, but with that you don't get the satisfaction of destroying buildings since you're fighting against creeper. I'd like to see a mod which incorporates the fun of cutting off/depowering sections of the map through strategic plays that CC gives without its fundamental cheese.
I would say it would be well powered until it has connection to main stock. Not like in the beginning of the video, where material was appearing out of nowhere.also cursor must consum main material, as result you will need to think, either force destruction in one direction, or lose power at your main base
@@iIiWARHEADiIiOr put a limit on how close you can spawn in creep, like make a circle where the creep cursor is deactivated inside.

I enjoyed this map. I recommend you try and get the mesh to the skimmer factory. It produces those little ball shooting crimson making doodads

First time I played this made I was able to prevent the AC until it was to late for the humies...second time ac triggered and it was a slogg.

Creep cursor feels cheesy much
It felt like the map was doable without.
Pretty sure the map maker just grabbed one of the premade PAC modes and didn't realize it had cursor if I'm honesy
It kind of made the whole map pointless...
It is, I played this map a bit ago and you can literally just take a small amount of creep across the whole map, set it on the creep multiplier mesh on the sides, your creep count goes up like crazy then you just move your cursor over to their main base. It's doable in like 1-2 minutes.
I was really confused how this was gonna be done in about 8 more minutes given where Tom was just before he realized creepcursor was on...

They've just had a major overhaul to Colony Survival for Christmas.
It changes fundamental mechanics of the game - the zombie numbers relate to your "threat level", which is increased by tech, rather than just numbers of colonists alone - and there's a whole bunch of new stuff, like elevators and biomes and outposts.
Outposts are interesting, as they're like sub-colonies. You might need a resource that's only found in a specific biome, so you can set up an outpost there and make a mini-colony to mine gold or whatever. Outposts, though, share resources with the main colony.
I've been playing it again. The overhaul revitalises the game and has made it fresh once more.

So, the worry with the Anti-Creep becoming a problem with this map is a bit unlikely to ever happen like what was shown at the end of the video, because if you just buff the Emitter and just let the creep do the work you can easily get half of this map covered in creep before the anti-creep is even activated and by that point the creep can also be in the 100s range in height making whatever anti-creep that does get generated wiped out pretty quickly, the worse that might happen is it chain reacting to other breeders to stall you out.

creeper world is my favorite thing. Is pretty much the only of your videos that I watch.
I haven't played CW4 or the LPAC maps - what determines the power of the creep cursor? I see you get boosts for your various creep generators, but it seemed like the cursor jumped dramatically
It generates more as creep builds up on the map so starts weak and gets stronger. You'll see surges from the cursor when it stops moving or getting attacked. There's also going to be surges from certain spots on the map that boost production from the cursor.
It's on per map basis. Some maps depend on the surface coverage, some just straight up cap it.
More CW4 please, lots of fun to watch.

Dude I feel like the point of this map was to buff your 1 emitter in the back and maybe the one in the front later and to fight against the AI with the AC head on. I feel like with the cursor this is what you were supposed to do and the fight makes it interesting. Also the AC takes too long to spread to the whole map. When the AC is spreading you can easily nip it in the bud (with your hundred eggs) or become strong enough that the AC can't beat you. If you were only using the emitter in the back if you manage to trigger the AC your front line isn't far away from the AC production you can just attack it. It is literally an LPAC (light play as creep) map you can't lose if you're not messing around.
I love creeper world Tom can you please post more often with play as creeper - without using a cursor - i think that shall be some very interesting gameplay :)
Yeah I hate the creep cursor. It doesn't make sense from an in-game perspective and seems cheaty even though the map designer chose to include it.

Creep Cursor for this felt absolutely over the top, totally unnecessary. From a great challenge to cheesy mess.
That said, Tom always forgets how good Mesh is and man, it really helps when you have a far away emitter or are doing creep waves [pop all eggs]
