this map is actually very beautifully designed. it has an easily taken out source for radeon, but the issue is once you take that out, the shields shut off, and the back area with the rift lab has a bunch of AC spots, so once the shields drop the AC kicks in because no shields keeping the AC away, causing a huge AC production jump. this map really is just a slog fest, but there is always stuff happening so it does not feel like a slog fest. that and it cheats with multiple factories. sure it takes a while to play, but it really is one of the better designed PAC maps.
I jumped the shields early on and used eggs to keep the redon production offline while feeding upgrades to the spore launcher. With the sheer number of shields, maintenance ate through their redon supply instantly, leaving them unable to reload missiles. After just a couple minutes, I was sending out enough spores to get lucky and hit next to the northernmost creep generator, at which point I put down several eggs I had in reserve to help free the generator. Once you have that, the enemy really can't compete. Obviously there is a lot of AC gen in their back ranks, but it's not enough to overcome how fast you can ramp up creep production when you have a .5 delay creep gen on a LPAC map. I just blindly threw upgrades into the creep gen from that point, until I got to the final push, which just needed a few upgrades into skimmers to overcome the enemy's overreliance on ERN turrets.
looked like there was just the one factory, and they just built another one in their base once that outpost was taken out.
I see map-makers are still deploying anti-Tom tactics in their designs.
This was the moment I realized that Tom is actually better at the game than me. I gave up on this map and 4:45 in Tom already destroyed the supply lines which would have allowed me to have progressed
Most LPAC maps are nice cause you can't really lose if you keep your patience, except for the Stargate cursor one, that one is impossible.
Just did 36minutes on this one, spent a lot of eggs keeping the ore area creeped(they were very aggressive here, they had times with supply), with shields disabled destroying nullifiers on emitters helps a lot.
Unfortunately creeper world 4 unlike particle fleet doesn't display times in order, but from my scrolling i am +-consistent in one of the fastest times.
How horrifying. More common then you would think, but still. HORRIFYING!

I wonder if the code for this game and its liquid physics have parameters for viscosity. I want to see these massive oceans of creeper and anti creeper smash into each other at the viscosity of water.
I think that might be the idea behind mesh, it flows faster along it than elsewhere, along with pulling creep along it, which isn't really related.
It does, but not quite to the levels of water. You can change wave levels, transfer rates, and flow rates, but I haven't been able to make it to where you get that splash effect when two big waves hit each other.
You can't have waves crash into each other and rebound like liquid. I'm pretty sure the creep is just a positive number (integer) value, and anticreep is literally a negative number for that same value.
When they meet, the values at that spot are added together and annihilate each other.
@@starflier You are correct. If you make a map with a too powerful emitter, the spike flickers white as the integer overflows.

The RGB resource points were on the second set of plateaus, made the map look far more daunting at the start than it ended up being.

Would there be a perfect map? (targeted spores, useful blobs, competent AI?)
There are many aspects I love about the creep but among the best things is the background staccato of panicked blasters and desperate mortars and exploding buildings while the creeper creeps.
So, I played this map a few times, literally the best strategy is to boost the emitters close to 500 (since the last one already is dead set on 500) and set the Blobs, Spores and Skimmers to 50-80 while using eggs to seed the areas that would generate more creep, after that would I use eggs on some of the more annoying areas.
Edit: but what I'm still trying to figure out is why some of the areas have destructible terrain when it can only be destroyed from going over top of the area first, kind of makes the advantage it would have provided voided.
I feel like you underestimate the power of having a spore launcher or blob nest boosted to like 100. Even if they have the arg 100 spores is ALOT to try to shoot down

OMG, I just played this level yesterday arvo!
Bit slow to start with, and on the laggy side.
I built up eggs all over the left corner and creep generation, then convered the entire area at once by connecting up with a few new eggs
One day, Tom will remember that Totem-shields are powered by Greenar, and built shields are powered by Arg...but today is not that day.
Edit: OK, he eventually remembered.
by the way, some maps allow the cursor to guide creep

You can see stuff rebuilding moving and mocing it self to somewhere else, thats what
Actually, the ai cheats in this map and will build 2 factories at the same time (you can see them from like 7:45-8:00 in this video...one in the base and one on the hill). Beyond that, there's a base layout that it'll try and rebuild, but also it'll try and recognize points of interest and build to defend those, move units around, form pushes in one or two general directions to shove back, build whatever it feels will counter the creep, etc.
It didn't used to rebuild, or move, or upgrade units. It's something recent, and actually makes the game fight back.
Some maps will try to rebuild the exact same buildings in the exact same locations, this one will place and move when it's blocked.
I had the skimmer factory but it kept building nullifiers, would change location each time I hit the blueprint with creep, as an example.
