- All star break is over and the NBA playoffs are now less than two months away. We are hyped especially for the Western Conference playoffs as the race as the top is as close as it has been in a long time. The Suns and Clippers have super teams that are coming together, the Timberwolves and Thunder are trying to prove themselves and you can't count out other teams like the Pelicans and Mavericks. But can any of these teams really beat the Nuggets?

I'm not as hateful but let's be real, they played 2 8th seeds, 7th seed and a 4th seed and the best team faced won 45 games... I can see Minnesota beating them cause they got plenty bigs to slow Joker down.

Nuggets are in such a good position, it’s gonna take some next level defensive schemes and committed players to slow down Jokic and get stops on Murray, MPJ.
I think the Mavs deserved some mention, since they made those deadline moves they've looked like a much more complete team and Luka is playing like an MVP

I wouldn't want to play the warriors lakers suns thunder t wolves clips nuggs or pelicans so by default besides maybe the kings the mavs are the easiest team to beat in the west playoffs and i trust the kings coach more so...but luka kyrie hardaway can be deadly for like 3 hot games in a row so it can be dicey if you lose all of those games cause they then just need 1 random game from a role player to win the series even if you are a 1 seed....they can also win a game 7 on the road and steal a road game early or win a game 5 in a 2-2 series...but then most likely will be in the play in and might not have home court so

As a nuggets fan I think the season has been a success considering Murray missed a month, championship hangover, and relying on an extremely young bench. I think there are a few flaws in there tho. Like the shooting this season in general has not been good relative to last year specifically Aaron Gordon’s jump shooting. I also worry about possible fatigue down the stretch because we rely on our elite starting 5 so much. I agree I think T- Wolves are probably our hardest matchup. I’m not that afraid of the Clippers and OKC because they don’t have a matchup for Jokic. I don’t think the Suns with their lack of depth and the Mavs lack of defense are gonna worry us either. Maybe a team like the Pelicans because they are a little awkward offensively but it seems to be working regardless it’ll be a tight race to the finish
All Nuggets fans need to know is the Nuggets are 39 and 12 including 11 playoff games with Murray in the lineup since middle of round 2 last year...they are 6-9 without Jokic since last season started and they are 19-14 without Murray since october 2022 9 and 7 this year and they didn't have Porter for 20 games last year 1 this year they have missed Gordon for 6 games this year 14 last year Pope for 5 games this year 6 last year...that's 100 missed games by their starting 5 over 2 years....

After seeing their recent games against the Warriors, Kings, and Lakers after they were down double digits in the first quarter, the most scary thing about the Nuggets is that they deadly in the clutch. It feels like every team has to play that final stretch perfectly to win because the Nuggets offense and defense just increase by like 50%. Like don’t miss, because the Nuggets won’t.
yeah it's probably the timberwolves. last year, the didn't have jaden to put on murray abd they dodn't have naz to put on jokic and gobert and kat were coming off injuries and the nuggets STILL said they were a tough matchup

I still have the Nuggets with the best odds to make the finals. I don't think this is the Thunder's year, I have them in contention next year for sure. I'm not trusting the Clippers especially now that they have James Harden with expectations for obvious reasons, I think the Suns lack of depth will come back to haunt them and I think they'll be another second-round exit. I think the Wolves can get to the conference finals though, but I still think the Nuggets can beat them in 6 or 7.
Beating the suns clippers and t wolves would be quite the task but if the nuggets can avoid 2 of those teams they will make the finals

The Nuggets have a crunch time execution that just feels inevitable and unique from any other team in the league. They never falter, never hesitate, never fail to find opportunities when the game depends on it. That's a tough team to beat in a series for anyone.

As an OKC fan, I would say it's either Twolves or Clippers. I don't believe in the Nuggets this year. I don't think they are as hungry. My team I really like but they are not at all experienced. I would have liked them to keep Micic even if he did not gel with the team that much strictly because of the playoffs and because players like him can help with possible mentality problems in the toughest moments.

The nuggets bench is weak. The guy that subs Joker is weak. Reggie has difficulties with bigger, stronger opponents. Jokic is a sharp shooter if he wants to. I hope to see more playing time with the bench before the playoffs.

Imo, the nba is as volatile as it ever has been in the longest time. Credit to the nuggets for the chip last year but they just won one championship they’re not at a dynasty level like the warriors/heat/spurs over the past decade and thats not a knock on them it just speaks to the immense talent in the league, theres no team that is considered a dynasty, I think its still a bit too early to call them unstoppable for now

Yes the parity of the league is the best its ever been, but my train of thought was more like ;with how high scoring games have been, increased attempts of 3’s mostly due to an increase in skilled players and the way the game is played today, with the lack of defense and whatnot I was more thinking in a sense that on a night to night basis any good team can destroy another good team by a good margin(which is why i used the word volatile). Kinda like the cavs v warriors series in 2016 where both teams were ultra competitive to the point it was pushed to game 7 but there were blowouts left and right

Realistically the only 2 teams I think genuinely stand a chance are the Celtics because of their overall talent & defensive masterclass on the perimeter with Holiday, White & Tatum or the Clippers just because they match up well against the nuggets (aside from center but no one matches up with the nuggets at center, Jokic is literally a cheat code)

Honestly, I don't think the Nuggets are making it back to the finals for a potential back-to-back. They're hella outgunned on the bench, plus all those miles on their starting players are eventually gonna catch up to them. They'll easily make the conference finals again, but with their team not being anywhere near the same as it was last season - they're not gonna make this run again.

@@razkable no chance. Braun is scared to shoot the ball and is way too hesitant. Theyre both defensive spark plugs but Watson is more versatile with his length. He also isn’t afraid to take on a defender 1 on 1 like Braun is. Hes definitely taken a step back in year two while Watson has taken a step forward

Peyton Watson didn’t play in the playoffs last year and definitely will this year, the energy he provides with his highlight reel blocks and great defence is massively valuable. Ideally we’d add another 3 and D player but they aren’t easy to come by.
Last year they had two trust worthy vets in bruce and green...this year those minutes will be played by braun and watson...total downgrade
