Meanwhile age and off ball movement and lack of snipers to stretch floor, creating double or triple teams let's put in perspective : Joel is double teamed every 2 possession jokic maybe every 5th or 6th. Embiid drag triple team whenever he sniff post area, meanwhile jokic around post can operate more because all snipers who stretch floor or others who move off ball provide those valuable moment 2 to 3 seconds and few feet space to operate 1 on 1 and avoid fast trap or quick collapsing triple team. Wilt Chamberlain faced same every playoff ppl swarm him whenever he touch ball because he did not have 7 or 9 hof like Russell who can shoot and stretch floor.

    Jokic and Murray run the 2 man game to perfection. They aren’t just standing around stagnant when someone has the ball. They’re moving off the ball, cutting to the rim, which opens up opportunities down low for a back door cut or an open 3. Jokic’s passing ability is what separates him from other players. He sees the floor so easily. He can make passes that other players can’t.

    Quite simply: Jokic being an elite point guard in a center's body + Murray being a great scorer with or without the ball + everyone else's ability to shoot + everyone else possesing at least an above average skill in off ball cutting and screening + intelligent enough to recognize lapses from the defense = a ton of motion offense
    Malone and Jokic and the entire Nuggets really just fit well. Considering that Malone was a head coach for Cousins and the Kings and had the most succesful season during the DeMarcus Cousins era there shows that he can best build an offense around elite passing centers

    Mike Malone has been masterful at getting his team prepared for every opponent so far in the playoffs. I thought the Lakers would be a matchup nightmare for them, but his game plan caused the Lakers to have to keep adjusting to what the Nuggets were doing. Hard to win a series that way when you have to constantly adjust your lineup to match up. The Nuggets in the meantime just play their same lineup every series. The same thing is happening now where the Heat have to now start tinkering with their lineup.

    Jokic:Nash + an extra foot, 100 pounds and an A+ postup game
    Murray: Amare's explosiveness + speed, passing and agility

Other teams mentioned in this video needs a system that fits the talent they have. It can be the Princeton, motion, triangle, or a hybrid system like what the Warriors run. An offense that is fluid and reactionary to what the defense gives, where every player gets to touch the ball. Something that is bread and butter and not just called set plays and iso.

    Jokic literally led the the NBA in every major advanced stat this season. VORP, BPM, DBPM, OBPM, WS/48, WS, and PER. He also leveled the competition in 538s RAPTOR based models. He was 3rd in the NBA among qualified scorers for TS% only behind Allen and Gobert, who had literally half his usage. 3 of the top 5 seasons of all-time for BPM are owned by Jokic including the greatest season of all-time according to BPM, over Jordan and Lebron. He currently has the highest BPM average in NBA history. Last season he also surpassed Wilt Chamberlain for the highest PER in NBA history. He's in the top 10 to 15 all-time for every single major single season advanced stat like VORP, OBPM, WS/48. It's clear that Jokic isn't just the best player in the NBA but already an all-time great player. George Karl recently correctly referred to Jokic as the greatest player he's seen since Jordan in the 90s.

    It my be misinterpreted that cause embid has to work hard to generate plays and create shots, that jokic isnt. Can be misleasing. Jokic may might as well work hard in generating utmost efficient in shot selection and teamplays.
    While embid thrives in iso. Jokic amplifies team play. This makes the team more fluid, in sync, nd definitely efficient.

    Thank you for shedding light on the embiid situation. As a sixers fan, I understand where the hate is coming from but at the same time, Doc Rivers is one of the least creative coaches in the league and leading the playoffs in isos is just ridiculous when you have a player of Joel’s caliber drawing attention.

Separates him from the legends like mj n Kobe like one minute his comfortable shots have him score 25 30 40 then over games he comfortable enough to score 14 17 16 like you have to practice taking them uncomfortable shots at f you want to be better. He really fixed up his act for the most part this year and even though he chased Bones Hyland away, I really like what he is doing to the Nuggets offence. Credit where credit is due.

    • @ja4309
      @ja4309 Před rokem +1

      But outside of your two injury riddled seasons, I think he has done well to build the team up from rebuilding to contention. 2015-2016 was a rebuild, 2016-17 showed improvement and had decided to build around Jokic, 2017-18 they were only one win away from making in the playoffs, 2018-19 was their first playoffs and ended up pushing to 7 games in the semis, 2019-20 they made the WCF while coming back 3-1 twice. Next two years was injury riddled so they had no chance of really competing.
      Is Malone perfect? No as he still made lapses at times just like any other coach. But at the end of the day, these helped him become a better coach and it really helps when your team has mostly stayed the same for many years
