    Billy is possibly the best human being. There is a select few people like him and Robin Williams, for me, who just...you feel their loss like no others. They're such a light in the world.

    So much Love between Billy and Pamela Connolly. I remember hearing A saying that goes "If You want to know how good A Husband A Man Is, look at how happy His Wife Is sitting right beside Him" I believe that says A lot about Billy and their Marriage.
    Both Husband and Wife are obviously so happy and comfortable in Eachothers company. Such A Beautiful thing to behold...
    EDIT ~ Broke My Heart to learn that The Legend who made Our Grandparents, Parents and Ourselves laugh hysterically was Abused on so many levels. 😪
    Yet was never A Victim. Always A Survivor. The Legendary Billy Connolly 🙏❤❤

    I was an American soldier in Vietnam in 1970, and on a 7 day leave to Sydney, was ultra fortunate to meet Pamela Stephenson at a party in Bondi. To say that she was a beautiful woman then...no epithets could possibly describe. To see her in this clip...I am not surprised at all she remains so beautiful. They are lucky to have each other

    I've never actually sat and watched this properly but I remember it being on TV. Hearing it now as a 36 year old it made my eyes fill, especially when he said he questioned whether it really happened to him as his dad was still giving him moral lectures etc. How confusing for a young person growing up but how admirable that he came through the other side and was finally able to be open about it all to Pamela and then everyone else. I'm sure admitting it to himself was the hardest part, especially after all that confusion.

    • @sophiew1967
      @sophiew1967 Před 2 lety +7

      I was keeping it together until that exact point in the conversation too..because it's absolutely true..those of us who have suffered historic child sexual abuse do gets these thoughts of incredulity..' did I really dream this...if I screw my eyes up can I.I dream it'?? That's the kind of dialogue I've carried in my own head for 50 yrs from when I was first abused aged 4. I know certainly growing up in a working class town like Liverpool kids just had no.voice at all in the 70's and there was nobody to reach out to like Childline ..I think for Billy coming from a very similar hard town it must have been even harder ..Yeah I respect both him and Pamela enormously for talking about such a painful subject and something that around 1in 5 people in my own country will be learning to live with..it's great that in doing this Billy sort of helped open the door for other men to talk about their childhood abuse too ..amazing chap .

      This is why I love Billy Connolly
      I grew up in Scotland and I went through so much inappropriate touching from my childhood when I was a little girl I felt uncomfortable but I didn't know what to do
      It even started again when I grew up . I wanted to take this shame to my grave. Until I found out he had done the the same things to my daughter. And then I remembered what happened in Scotland with my young cousins in Scotland. When I finally realised my father was a sick man. Because I confronted him before he passed in the nursing home my family no longer have any contact with me.they said it was all in my mind. That's another why I love Billy Connolly. his lovely wife believed him but my family have ostracized me. I love Billy Connolly for being so brave and also the funniest man on Earth.when I am a bit low I watch you Online. I am from Motherwell I never had the opportunity to see you live. It's on my bucket list . Love Maggie Collins Gold coast Qld. Legend.x
