    I have a master's degree in Biochemistry. My syllabus has absolutely no maths or computer science or even bioinformatics. And I recently developed liking for bioinformatics. If I complete online courses, can I be a Bioinformatician? Because to enroll in masters degree in bioinformatics in germany, I need 25 credits in computer science and 25 credits in maths.

    Hi Theresa! I've just discovered you this week and I really like your simplicity and humbleness 😊
    I would like to ask if in the interviews you had after having joined the Master recuiters asked you about the projects that you had prepared before entering the Master. I mean, did those prior projects useful for getting the job?
    Thank you in advance in case of a response, and of course Go Girl! Hechale duro y pa' lante con todo lo mejor que venga! 🤗

    • @datawithrez
      @datawithrez  Před 3 lety

      Hey Ruth, Thank you very much :). Yes, when I had my first interview they actually asked me about my project but not in detail. But the projects are more than that, it really helped you to learn and have a hands-on feel from exploratory analysis to applying the models. At the same time, having projects like that show to the recruiter your personality or who you are and how serious you are (ie. willing to learn, hardworking, disciplined). These are also important qualities they are looking for. Have a nice day! :)

      @@datawithrez thank you again Theresa :)
      May I ask what kind of project did you carry out? Were there projects regarding just cleaning data and that's all and/or projects where you go on in doing actually predictions applying different model?
      Sorry if these seem stupid questions but since you are the first person that I can perceive as "friend" or at least as an acquaintance met in am evening with friends

    • @datawithrez
      @datawithrez  Před 3 lety +1

    Hello Rez! I love your video, these are very informative. I am currently thinking of transitioning to Data Science here in Germany, I would like to know if German language proficiency is required in the job as a Data Analyst or Scientist. I would like to take Bootcamps on Data Science here in Germany, do you recommend this? if yes, can you recommend good Bootcamps to enroll in? Thanks!

    • @datawithrez
      @datawithrez  Před rokem +1

      Hi Joanna, German language is required if the company is not international, or if part of your role is to talk to German clients, otherwise, it’s okay to only speak english. Bootcamps are good options if you already have a technical background ☺️ but if you don’t you might need more online courses and certifications :)

    Hi Rez! Thanks for sharing your story.
    How did you decide which field in DS did you like? Maybe you can deepdive more about these fields in DS in another informative video?
    Do you think a masters/bachelors in your domain expertise plus a masters in DS is sufficient in getting a job in Germany?
    Thank you!

    • @datawithrez
      @datawithrez  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Pau, honestly, I do not have a preference before in which DS field I want to go, I just really want to be in Healthcare :) It just happened that my first internship was related to NLP and my job now is related to NLP in HC so that's why I am currently in this space.
      With regards to getting a job in Germany, it's really preferable to have a BS/MS in STEM most likely computer science, math, and physics. There is no guarantee, most jobs require at least 2 years of experience.

    Is it necessary to get a master degree in Data Science to get a job as Data Scientist. Because it's becoming a trend to study the short courses having the duration of three months.
    If it's so then which one is advisable to take the course online or physically in bootcamp in Berlin.

    • @datawithrez
      @datawithrez  Před rokem

      It's not really necessary to get a master but it can position you to be considered. I have been involved with hiring data scientists and I would say 95% of the applicants got masters. Not data science masters per se but the most common ones are Masters in Mathematics, computer science, physics and economics. to be honest, 1 data science job can get more than 200+ applicants (i will talk about this in my next video) but it becomes very competitive that you need to do something to stand out.

    Hi mam I hope you are fine..I m from india .. I m planning to do ms in Germany from htw Berlin .I did graduation in mechanical engineering after that I did a course in data science and currently working as a data scientist . Mam I want to ask you something important .. mam does it make difference while searching a job because if our bachelor's ..I mean I saw few job posting in Germany which want background in cs or statistics..I had a chat with senior ,he told me that if you have experience and master degree in that field then it doesn't matter what was your bachelor's degree. You can apply for that job ..but I again wanted to confirm this thing. because I. Going to pay so much money for my master's in data science and if I won't get a job then I ll broke coz I m from a very middle class or not so rich family. Please mam help me out
