      Dzuhmur was really pushing him to the limit. I am surprised he kept his calm till then. Can you imagine the pressure? Really, I wouldn't be a referee for these spoiled kids... Where are the Nadal, Edberg, Borg who never contested a judge because they know a game is not won on one point...
      And these "stars" who throw , balls, break their expensive rackets while some kids just cry to just have one...

      I believe at one point an umpire has the right to be human. I wonder why he did no loose his temper earlier. Dzumhur was provoking and behaving disrespectful at all times. He deserved at one point to be treated the same way. The tour does not need these type of players. Neither the Challenger tour. He will end up as frustrated like all the other lunatics players.

    • @richietaylor9870
      @richietaylor9870 Před 4 měsíci

      They need to take some lessons from rugby referees. Get them to take a look at a “best of Nigel Owens” compilation and they’ll see a tiny little Welsh bloke taking zero crap from 30 enormous men, any of which could snap him, but instead call him ‘sir’ and almost never argue or give any backtalk.
      Meanwhile, almost all incidents like this in which a player behaves like a spoilt toddler, they end up saying they want the guy fired or demoted. These people get paid a relatively paltry amount. Gold Badge umpires are the highest paid umpires that officiate the biggest matches including slam finals, and they get around $70,000, which is not a lot. And there are only 33 of them. Dzumhur’s umpire probably gets a fraction of that, yet he wants him fired. Even if the guy was at fault, what kind of man wants another man to lose his job over a mistake? Never mind if he has a family to feed, he missed a call because he isn’t Clark Kent, so to hell with them! What an absolute cretin. I just hope the next time he behaves like that, it just happens to be the umpires last day before he retires. And I hope they climb down from their chair, mid match and knocks the tosser out of his shoes before he goes.

      Delays during service: When the server’s second service motion is interrupted by a ball coming onto the court, the server is entitled to two serves. When there is a delay between the first and second serves:
      • the server gets one serve if the server was the cause of the delay;
      • the server gets two serves if the delay was caused by the Receiver or if there was outside interference.
      The umpire agreed with Canas that the blaring PA system was a significant enough disturbance that it disrupted his serve routine. Ymer disagreed (and proceeded to make a flawed comparison to playing at the US Open). I think the umpire made the correct judgment call here.
