Is the sandpaper you mentioned at Lowe’s for the slot mandrel self adhesive? I got a roll of self adhesive sandpaper but I’m not sure how to apply it to the mandrel. If a wrap it around and over itself it won’t stick because now it is trying to stick to the rough grit. And the mandrel is such a small diameter the piece would only be about 1/16 of an inch long. I guess the pink material I see on the mandrel is self adhesive sandpaper? Any advice for me on how I can begin to use this sanding technique? Thank you!

1. What brand, shape, grit and size burrs did you use?
2. What kind of wood did you carve?
3. What brand, type, and sheen finish did you apply?
I think your work is among the best power carving I’ve ever seen. Thank you for taking the time to share your talents with us.
I searched for slotted mandrels and self adhesive sand paper today in the Denver area. Found Several sources for the sand paper but no one carried the mandrels. So I’m going to order them on Amazon tonight. They seem to have everything and as a prime member shipping is free and fast. They are getting to be my and most people’s place to shop for everything. It won’t be long before brick and mortar stores are all gone as well as all the malls.

Of course you’re questions are not problem.i still using Kutzall bits 1/8 shaft original tapers and ball.For details some diamond bits.The wood red cedar and the finish is 2 coats of danish oil. I think I bought that mandrel on amazon too or maybe eBay. Local stores not carrying anything like that.
