- Suzuki multicab minivan's been running a bit hesitant and idling rough so I decided to break down my minivan's engine and see what is up. Only to know that just a defective fuel pump and a little carburetor tune-up was all causing the engine instability. Genius.
This is a rear-mounted Suzuki F6A 660cc 12 valve gasoline engine, 2WD, and manual transmission, has various models but all are similar to each other, to list the models:
Suzuki Carry/Every DC51B, DC51T, DD51B, DD51T, DE51V, DF51V
Mazda Scrum DJ51B, DJ51T, DK51B, DK51T, DL51V, DM51V
Engine parts and components can be purchased virtually everywhere.
All the engine overhauling was done at TransXpress Auto Shop in Barangay Villakananga, Butuan City, Philippines.
The whole engine rebuilding experience burnt a hole in my pocket and broke my heart into pieces but it is all worth it. Additional knowledge in automotive mechanic works is all about.
Boss, pa help naman po..yung multicab ko po tumataas ang menor pag long drive or pag mainit na ang makina, di naman ganun kataas pero not normal po yung taas nya..s cold start po parang mamamamatay pag di mo binombq ng ilang saglit tas ok na..tas pag ng drive k ng mga say 20km mataas na ang menor nya po.. png deliver po nmin ng tubig at quarantine po kasi ngayon salamat
Same thing nangyari sa mc ko sir. Simple lang yan.
- check nyo resistance ng ignition coil. Dapat malakas pa. Kung mahina na palitan ng medyo malakas
- check spark plugs. Dapat yung manufacturer's recommend model yung NGK DCPR7E copper plugs
- check air/fuel mixture. Adjust nyo sa pinakamalakas na settings after normal temperature while plugging the distributor lines in doing so.
- check resistance ng ignition cables ninyo. Dapat nass wastong resistance lang kundi palitan na ng bago.

Paano po ang brake in process na ginawa nyo pagkatapos? Yung sakin din kasi, kakatapos lang ng general overhaul. Palit piston ring, lahat gasket at machine shop ang liner na bago din. Salamat!
Hello Adrian, thanks for the feedback. Normal use and city driving after overhaul. Taking notes of the gas milage and odometer readings. Change oil after 500kms, then after 700, then 1000kms. After that, drove a long distance trip. Gas milage improved from 8km per liter to 14km per liter unleaded.

@@adriandiw You might want to check ignition coil and cables. That main part responsible for the engine running condition. Weak ignition coils will produce misfires.
I have a 1991 suzuki carry DB51T here in the US. I'd like to replace my carb with a remanufactured OEM one. Is that carb you have an aftermarket? If so, are they the Chinese aftermarket ones I see on Ebay, etc? Are they good quality and last long?
Hello Jason, yes they are Chinese made and very cheap. Easy to start engine even on cold morning. And economical on gas too.
Don't buy chinese oem. Suzuki is Japan. It is better to have 2nd hand japan original than new chinese made parts for your engine.

Boss ilang inch ang bore ng f6a?
Itatanong ko lang po sa tungkol sa multicab namin Kasi tumatagas na ang coolant sa gawing likod ng crankshaft pulley Niya, ano po ba magandang gawin don, ano din po ba posibling sira Niya, salamat po.
Palit head gasket po sir. Top overhaul po.

If standard bore, use standard piston and rings.
Magandang araw sir. Saan ba dapat magbaklas sa minivan cateye kapag gusto i-repair ang wiper link/motor? Una e binaklas ko dashboard hindi pala makikita o maabot ng kamay doon sa ilalim. Loose yata linkage o kung anuman dahil hindi na pantay ang hawi ng wipers saka maalog cya. Thank you po.

Total overhauled po to sir. Baba lahat. Pero dapat top overhaul lang sana ginawa ko. Really nothing to do with the crankshaft area.

One outlet and one return. The other is jus for heater purposes. You can plug it if not in use.

Hello Sheila, surplus carburetors cost between 4-6 thousand pesos. I have tried using the Chinese version they performed well and good.

F6A engine = pareho lang lahat yan. Magkaiba man ang transmission and engine placement, pareho lang talaga lahat yan.

C-631 oil filter boss, then ang oil 20w-40 or 20w-50. Mas nindot daw if 15w40 SF/CF kay mas gaan.
Sir Charcoal Monkey good AM. I know this vid is years old by now but I am hoping I can still get an answer from you. I've just had my F6A engine worked on kasi nag-overheat. Now I worry because I'm not sure if the mechanic installed the head gasket right. My question, Sir Charcoal Monkey is: Aside from the engine's sound is there any other indicator that will show if the head gasket is baliktad? I am not familiar kasi sa tamang tunog ng F6A so I cannot go by sound alone. Kung baliktad ang head gasket, walang langis na nakakarating sa loob ng head cover? Will my Low Oil Indicator bulb light up? Papaano po ba? BTW, kabibili ko lang (second hand) itong unit ko kaya newbie talaga pa ako dito. In anticipation of your reply, I thank you now. Hello po. If baliktad ang pagkaka install ng gasket, instantly may malaking damage ang mangyayari sa camshaft, rocker arms, and upper block kasi walang langis na dadaloy. Then may malakas na ingay, parang grinding noise. Pwede namang buksan ang valve cover then paandarin. Makikita agad na may langis or wala.
Overheating issue must be the water pump impeller na pudpud na.
Or hindi na bleed ng tama ang cooling.
Or mas mataas air to fuel mixture, lean. Or overly advanced timing yung distributor.

Tingnan mo yong hose nang radiator connecting to your engine baka may butas or nagcrack na. Replace mo nang bago.

Completo pa ba mga vacuum hoses ana sir? Basin ge pang tanggal na mga vacuum hoses ana. Then kung mag overflow ang carb, most likely ge abrihan or ge helabtan na ang carb.
Mag usok na breather/filter, basin blown na ang cylinder head gasket ana.

I have a suzuki jimny ja11 that comes with the f6A engine, and I'm spending a lot of gas, the engine has an oxygen sensor!
There are many factors when it comes to fuel economy on the F6A. First, you may want to check the ignition coil. It might be weak and not giving enough spark. May foul the firing.

Dito sa amin 3K ang labor general cleaning. Pag may damage sa crank shaft palitan mo nang surplus kasi genuine made in japan. Price nang crank shaft now is 6T to 8T. Labor is separate from the price of spare parts.

Nirekta kasi mga rad fan pag dating dito satin para safe sa overheat. Pwede mo lagyan ng switch o di kaya temp sensor switch fan ng MC ninyo. Sakin manual yung fan, nilagyan ko ng switch. E on ko nalang pag nag 10 oclock na ang temp gauge. Babalik naman to zero, then off na naman.

Ilisan na nako siya ug connecting wire sa sparkplug ug cylinder head gasket. Ako nang gipaover haul ang rediator. Gipableedingan pa jud nako ang waterpump. Pero init pa gihapon ang iyang hinongaw sa makina. Ma feel nimo sa sulod labi na ug magdagan. Unsa kahay problema ani no? Advice lang be?

CHRCLMNKY naa gyod sa 12 0 clock ang temp. Ok ra diay na nga temp niya. Ok salamat kaayo sa imong rply bossing ha.
Ang nindot na spark plug para multicab is NGK DCPR7EGP (Platinum) tag 250 ang isa.
Naay mas nindot, mas fuel efficient, low voltage needed, less fouling, NGK DCPR7EIX ( Iridium) pero mahal. Tag 600 each. Pero sulit kaau. Mas mo tipid ang fuel consumption and mas kusog ang kabig sa makina. Upgrade ko if maka tigom. Platinum ako gamit karon.

3 weeks stambay? You have to remove and have the battery recharged to a nearby battery center or repair shops. All battery juices were drained during the long non-usage.

@@jachuy234 Disconnect negative terminal on battery if you are going to standby your vehicle for more than 3 days to prevent power draining.

@@johnpaulbustillo3792 any will do. Marami na akong nakitang mga arguments tungkol nito on Facebook groups. But for me I prefer to use the thicker lubrication of 20w50 here in our very hot climate.

Sir magkano kaya ang computer box? bibili po kase ako multicab na 2nd hand pero yun daw issue, sira daw yon pero gagana daw kapag pinalitan. Salamat po ng madami sa tulong.
I'm sorry no idea about the price of the ECM engine control module or computer box.
What I can suggest is to purchase surplus vehicles from reputable sellers. There are many expert vehicle mods on facebook pages and also sells very good vehicles.

Check nyo po ignition coil sir baka mahina na. Use multimeter in testing your coil. Also you might want to replace fuel filters, there are 2, at the fuel send and at the fuel return. Re check your high tension wire for its accepted resistance values. Commonly nasa electrical lang talaga yan.

Primary coil 1.4 ohms. secondary coil 28.18 k ohms yan po reading ng ignition coil sir. palitin naba ang ignition coil ng mc ko sir
@@alexford1074 palitan na yan sir. Dapat below 13k ohms lang 2nd coil. Magdala po kayo ng multimeter kung bibili ng surplus sir. Piliim nyo mas mababang resistance, tyak malakas ang power nun

Hello Paul, actually the tiny engine so powerful. They use these Suzuki F6A's for public transport that could carry 12 people.
@@chrclmnky the newer ones are better ? my brother inlaw had a van , it could not even keep its speed going up a hill on the national road out of cebu . He sold it finally . We looked at newer vans , he didnt trust them and recommended agsinst them , we bought a low milage honda city , local made , with a 1.3 hood on gas and plenty of power , but i like the style of the van , custom 4wd . it's a powerful gasoline engine. In Japan it is used as a transporter of goods in the field to the market w/c can load up to 350Kg but here in Philippines it is loaded like more than what it's max kg and they add thicker leaf suspension. Ang overhaul labor diri naa sa 6-7k pesos diri sa Butuan sir. Small to medium petrol vehicle. Pero di ko sure sa kana nga vehicle sir. Nag pa overhaul ra pod ko ani.

Yes sir, the engine blows. The rebuilding was actually done twice because head gasket was installed in reverse. Didn't had a video recording of the 2nd engine test. So my bad. :(

- Basin weak na ang ignition coil ana. E check gamit multimeter. If taas na ang resistance, weak nana imo ignition coil.
- Nag compression test ba mo? Dapat naay compression tester imo mekaniko.
- Basin wala sa saktong timing ang makina. Dapat naa pod timing light ang mekaniko para ma adjust sa saktong timing.
- K6A engine diba EFI na? Basin wala na sa saktong function ang computer box ana sir.
Medyo kuti ayohon ang mga EFI kaysa carb engines. Dapat advance na pod imo mekaniko dili lang kato scientist ang agi.

Akong multicab pag ka human na overhaul..dili na kusug mudagan pag ka change gear sa tersira patay ang makina..unsa cgro ang problema didtu ok man ang timing pero wala man ang iyan kusug mo dagan.
Brother Imran, salamat sa pag tan-aw. Pareho ra ta ug problema after overhaul. It turns out guba na ang ignition coil. Ako ge ilisdan na ok na dayon. Ang spark plugs ako ge upgrade to NGK platinum.

Mao na kasagaran problema sakyanan ang electrical. Gamay ra mechanic na kahibalo mo test ug auto electrical labi na sa ignition na part.
