I would like to hear your thoughts about a situation concerning forgiveness in which a person does something very bad to you, and the person to whom this bad action has happened to - trys to "let it go", but doesn't really forgive the person, but has compassion on the person and understands why and what drove perhaps to committing this transgression. And so, you try to put it behind you and once again interact with person, but it happens again and again - and you still continue to keep your relationship with this person because they might be a child, or a sister, or a parent - and you love them. Until you realize this person has no conscience, no remorse, no regret, no regard for what loss or pain they have caused you, and wairs and coldly plots for another opportunity to do it again. And at last, you feel that the only thing you can do to protect yourself is to have no further contact with this person. And though after enough distance and time passes, maybe "objectively" you can for give this person, but you realize they would still do it again. And even though your heart is broken - because you love this person, you realize the only thing you can do is to sever the relationship; because you can not believe or trust in this person, especially when the person feels no shame or remorse or denies they did anything. If God forgives me why should I not forgive others?You reap what you sow.in every situation we are wronged we can choose mercy or "justice".If we choose mercy God will render mercy unto us if we choose justice God will render justice unto us when we are wrong.
Thank you rabbi, compassion and forgiviness will always stay in my heart , the problem with christianity is trying to force the jew to convert as inquisition did ,persecution ,genecide , well they dont study the tanak nor the talmud , in genesis is clear ,you curse a jew ye shall be cursed , in the new covenant also it is written for apostles were jews , yeshua was a jew , but they turned crazy making their own laws , not realizing that bt chagiga 16a hillel and menahem did not differ menahem went forth shamai entered , well menahem in new covenant went to become a synagoge leader in antioch he believed in yeshua , the word christian only mentioned in the bible 2 times ,yeshua 5,538 times we are all jews
Thanks for this video? I our case we have lost everything, we have suffered all imaginable cruelties, yet we are open to forgive it all...but the worse of all is that we have been taken away from the Torah....THIS can it be forgiven?
Can you tell me are you talking about forgiveness in our heart like "realising an offence" or " "mechanical forgiveness" like yake or not to take action an bout something?
What if the person who asks for forgiveness doesn't seem to mean it really. They just want to be out of the issue, but you feel they don't really care about the damage they caused you? Are you guilty for feeling ambivalent about accepting the apology?

So, when the regret doesn't cover the actions or intentions you won't be forgiven. That makes sense to me.
