Ice storm turns roads to skating rinks!

- A major ice storm went through the area with temperatures around zero and turned a lot of the roads into skating rinks. This Uhaul truck spun out while going up an icy hill and slid backwards right to the edge of the road. If it would have gone a foot farther it would have went over the edge. So I took the 4x4 wrecking out to see what we could do. Luckily it was a very simple pull up the hill with the @YankumRopes
and not the major recovery it would have been it had went any farther.

Another great video! 😊Stay safe out there!❤️🙏
As a Michigan resident I've never known the luxury of a pump jockey. One day when I was working at a gas station as a clerk I had an elderly woman from Oregon comes to my pump who had never pumped gas in her life and needed me to come pump her fuel for her. I was dumb founded until my sister who lives in Oregon explained to me that you couldn't pump your own fuel out there. It still blows my mind.
Thanks for putting in the Celsius for us Canadians, this we understand. Lol.
You had me at Taco Bell. True authentic Mexican food.
There were all those branch’s on that tree right next to his stuck tire that he could have shoved in there to get traction. And if that was his driveway why didn’t he go get his shovel and dig the ice out?
Dude!
But we get more content from Mr. LaDelle 🎉
Ice cleats for your shoes is handy.
I like the old trucks too
Yes, nice to go whit you! Interesting to see the camera!
Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you a great and prosperous New Year
Thanks for the metric conversion.
That Sony Cam almost zoomed to where you just pulled the uhaul out. Ha haa
Great job Casey.
Thats a nice looking truck that old tow truck.
I see you finally got a better truck
I remember driving into Oregon once. No one told me about the gas filler up person before I got into Oregon. I rolled up to a gas station got out and stuck my card into a machine trying to fill it up. Some guy comes running up "you can't do that". I'm an adult. I've been putting gas in vehicles for 20 years. I know how it works. This guy then explains to me what the deal is. Is weird having that full service experience
First time trying to get gas in Oregon, there were two creepy men at the pumps so I when to another station. At the second station I realized they are there to pump gas.
You can also pump your own in Oregon if you're on a motorcycle.
New Jersey is the same way. I do not like anyone else messing with my vehicle.
@@t.l.robinson2162 I agree with you on that
Yeah been hoping they would get rid of the full service law in Oregon. Have had so much gas spilled on my stepside bed from lazy attendants.
Come On all you folks in Oregon, That live near Casey, If your going to get one stuck, you need to do a better Job, Casey has been getting off way to Easy! lol
I remember that week. Gave a lot of nurses and essential workers rides to and from work. Did the same the other night when we had snow. I ordered kinetic ropes too to replace my 10k tow strap for next week. Can’t wait to use it next week when spun out cars need pulled back on the road to get to work.
I was in gp 5. My 3rd cleanup. At Coyote I I picked up all the brass, shotgun shells, and broken glass targets........last June, I went up there 4.7.23 and the mess was worse than last year. Nice meeting you in person, Casey. I'm still working on the rotator. So far, just tax tokens!
I do like that 360 camera , gives the impression there's a camera guy without there being a camera guy and the video quality is great ( along with your other camera ) thanks for bringing us along , Casey
And it also explains away my invisible snowmobile comment from the other day. But I still think he has an invisible ghost rider.
Thanks for explaining the video gear that you use. Often wondered how you do the pan shots with apparently no one operating the camera. Your editing is awesome! Always enjoy your explanations on why you do things the way that you do. Thanks!!!!
Well said
Casey, You are Awesome. If I ever get stuck up in Oregon I will call You for a Recovery Rescue.
Optical zoom is so much better than digital zoom
Ordered my Banks diff cover today, for my Ford 10.5 rear end on my motorhome, since I will be flat towing my Jeep behind it, in the mountains next year. Will be in your neck of the woods in June.
Totally get what you are saying! I used to have a "new" truck all the time........... Now I drive a 1987 F-350 6.9 idi diesel 4x4 dually and my bigger truck is a 1984 F700 with a 6V53 Detroit. Love them WAY better. Thank You for what you do and stay safe!
That was cool.....it was right in my own neighborhood.
Good morning
Thank you for taking us for the ride. Like your videos. God bless you all the time and the family to.
I appreciate your videos. Your charity is admirable. While I’m a huge retro fan, especially of your tow truck, I cringe when I see you operating on roadways with retro emergency lights. It would be nice to see your towing rig with some LED warning lights.
Modern LED lights are stupid and dangerous. You will never see me put that worthless garbage on this truck.
Ouch!
@@dabuya yeah, ouch is what someone says when they get hit on the side of the road because their stupid enough to think that blinding and distracting someone who is driving a vehicle towards them is a good idea….
To put it simply, fuck everything about LED strobe lights.
I understand that you disagree with my comment, but man, did you have to come that hard on both of your responses?
@@dabuya that was the light version of how I really feel. Trust me, I am holding back.
In Oregon you can legally pump your own diesel. You can also pump your own fuel in city’s smaller that 50k population.
Happy to ride along with you today. Sorry I wasn't a better conversationalist to keep you company on today's ride.
That ice has caused some major havoc. Glad it was a tad better when you got the uHaul out! The 360 makes for some rad shots! Thank you for all the extra edit times it requires Casey!
It's really great that you also you Insta360, and Osmo Action 3 is just amazing and can handle really cold temperature.
The describing how customers are filming was killing me 😀
I want to thank you to you. In one video you talked about the "traction control" and how in snow it's no help. I got stuck the other day and after a couple attempts to get free I remembered you said to shut it off. I did that and got unstuck right away. Great advice. Thank you.
Hey KC they make snow corks.. 🤣
Casey your videos always put a smile on my face. Thank you
Enjoyed
Great video
Easy. Good camera
I have to ask - did I inspire this video?!?! Too funny....
Called Card Lock!!
Gourmet Mexican Food from Taco Bell...🤣🤣🤣
ur car insurance must love u with all of ur cars lol
It makes a lot of sense to have an account as you never know when you will need fuel
If I would have known that I would have reached out. Could have used your help in Albany lol.
It's a crying shame that this neat old Ford wrecker is now exposed to so much road salt!
Oregon doesn’t salt their roads, you’d have to go all the way to the Dakota’s for that.
Mr Casey Nice ice skating. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
Great new year:-) from Boise . Yer in our neck of woods:-)
Wow that zoom on the Sony is amazing and super stable being so far away.
a fine example of why we all need Yankum ropes . Thank You . Easy is best
Thanks Casey for explaining the camera’s you use. ❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸
Nice video
My Dad's F250 was a camper special. Auxiliary tank was rusted out. Just the cab tank, & the gas gauge wasn't accurate. Dad installed extra tanks in front of the back wheels...we had capacity for about 60 gallons w/ those tanks. I learned to estimate mileage so I wouldn't run out. I must have done ok, bc occasionally I'd think it needed lots of fuel & the pump would shut off sooner than expected. There's ways around not having a good gas gauge.
That 360° camera is super cool I don’t need one but I’ll probably buy one anyway lol
NICE
Thanks for explaining your video equipment Casey, much appreciated. Coming from a guy that doesn't know as much as I'd like to know about cameras, LOL I seriously thought with the 360 camera you were carrying some sort of device on you that the camera follows, sort of like how a drone works when it follows you. You sure do have nice equipment that's for sure.
I know you're going to hate me for asking more technical questions.
What editing software do you use?
The one I'm currently using DON'T offer the ability to edit nicely the 360 footage. I'm still using Windows Movie Maker. I know I'm probably one of the last few holdouts that still use that antique program anymore.
I agree man you wanna get off road trip you don't want a new truck
I'm the same way Casey...prefer my 03 Ram. Love the silver Ram you own. Guess I don't care for that super high auto payment. Would I like a new diesel Ram, sure but just not that payment. Thanks for everything 👍
"LIKE" button has been torqued to the manufacturer's recommended specification. "CLICK".
God forbid you should be running around Oregon there with a loose "LIKE" button !
Fun story about my 96 f250. It was broke down for a while and I could not figure out why. It had fuel, fuel pressure, spark....... drove me crazy. Come to find out my daughter hit my tank switch to the back tank. When I bled the fuel rail I kept saying in my head the fuel smell like it came out of a boat....... that's when it hit me. I filled that tank over a year ago and never used it and it was reading the same on my guage. It would run on the stank gas but it wasn't good enough to start it.
Unfortunate thing happened at that address. 😕 on a more pleasant note I live at the base of the "hill" you zoomed in on while you was showcasing your gear. By the way thank you so much for sharing your gear. Looking for a good water proof camera.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing your videos at the top of my feed!
Again Casey goes where I used to drive a lot ....Thank you for the memories...AGAIN!!!! Keep em coming!
I had a good friend back in the early 1980's who lived in Prineville. Beautiful desert country.
At 3:46 your rear-view mirror looked like it had a dog face on it 🤣
If there's anything funnier than watching grown men walk on ice, please let me know what it is. 😂😂😂
That's because they know how much it hurts when your feet go up and over your head before you land!
My husband fell out in the driveway a few years ago - he'd gone out to check the hydro gains for our solar panels for that day - anyway, it was -20 degrees C and he hadn't bothered to put a coat on for the quick trip out to the pole. The dogs started carrying on and barking at the door, I called him to check on them and got no answer. Now I'm wondering what's really going on. I got near the back door and could hear this weird moaning/groaning sound and wasn't sure I wanted to even open the door. Good thing I did. My husband was standing at the bottom of the two steps up to the porch, kind of bent over, and the noise I'd heard was the best he could do for sound. I got under his good arm and got him up the steps and in onto the couch. After waiting for hours to be seen in Emerg. then dealing with possibly cracked ribs and the broken collarbone (which he had poked back into place while sitting on the couch) I drove him everywhere for three weeks then let him out on his own for a site meeting. On the way home he sneezed and that started everything all over again. We ended up going to a different hospital after talking to the nurse at tele-health. By the time I'd parked the truck after dropping him at the door he was already in x-ray. A couple of days later we got a call from our GP and his first words to me were "What the heck happened?" Turned out the x-ray, being taken well after the actual fall, was showing the partially repaired cracked ribs and the report said that there were 5 cracked ribs and possibly more but the film didn't extend any further.
Byron said he'd been pretty amazed when his feet were up over his head on the way to landing on his left shoulder. After he did he didn't really want to move but also didn't want to freeze to death so managed to get up and to the door where the steps were beyond his capabilities just then.
I'm almost 50 with a really bad back & I found some cleats that go over your shoes for walking on ice. They work great & can be found at most outdoor stores like Cabellas, Dicks sporting goods & others. They're made of stretchy rubber with chains or small spikes built in for traction. No more falling on my butt 😂
@@Buzz420 I got him a pair of those this Christmas. After the fall he put some hex headed screws into the thick soles of his hiking boots and they worked beautifully. Like Casey with the studs in the tires, he just took them out in the spring.
Thank you, Casey. Give me a call before you head out next time, I wanna come along! lol
Happy New Year Casey and Casey’s Family!! Thank You For All Your Doing Mate!!🥰🫶🏼
Casey, there is a new remote called "GPS Action Remote" thant can be used with your Insta360 camera. You can use the remote to start and stop your camera. Thanks for your continued prime content. Cheers from Canada
Best videos weekly! Like watching this channel keep up the good work💪🏻
Interesting camera information - answered my questions to be sure!
I sometimes forget to press record.😂😂 Thanks for the video
One of the best recoveries I’ve ever done never made it to CZcams because I never pressed the record button
I hear ya on the old trucks lol! my truck is a200 f350 7.3 fx4(back when it was more than a sticker lol) I got for 10k 4 years ago, she just turned 130k! work truck(compa y I work for provides it and all maintenance whatever) is a 19' 5.0 f150. good truck but I can't ride down the deer roads and hear that damm ding ding ding for no seat belt! work truck is ² wheel anyways! great video you stay true to yourself by the minute!
corporate credit cards also work at card lock stations in oregon
thanks for the camera information
Nice smooth recovery Casey. Thks for breaking down what your using to record. 🤙😎
GREAT RIDE ALONG!
Actually, the Ford Dual tanks filler tubes were both on the driver's side. The back tank was between the frame rails behind the axle. The front tank was between the frame rail and the driveshaft on driver's side. Depending on year and wheel base on capacity. Mine had like 19 gal in rear and something slightly bigger for the front.
That’s what I told Casey and he yelled at me
@@jeffjarboe3634 For the stock Fords with stock bed, yes, that's true. With the tow bed like he has, especially if said tow truck has an under reach, the second tank gets removed due to a lack of room for it once the tow box gets installed.
@@johnhpalmer6098 If you read my reply I never said that was not true
@@jeffjarboe3634 I read the whole thing as I READ the comments, unlike many that jump in, make a comment, only to repeat what someone else has already said elsewhere in the comments because they didn't read what others have said first.
First off, I should have replied to the initial poster, not you but your reply can lead to some confusion for the rest of us, just saying I told Casey and he yelled at me, can be seen 2 different ways, you told him about the tow trucks not having 2 tanks, or having 2 fuel tanks when they don't. BTW, Casey did point out in this video the switch for the 2 tanks is still installed in the dash, as these trucks are sold in commercial form with both tanks in place since they are fastened to the frame, not the bed and the conversion company removes the stock bed, if equipped and adds the tow box and removes the rear tank for now there is no room for it and does other mods as needed to an otherwise stock dually Ford.
@@johnhpalmer6098 I didn't doubt why one tank was removed for the bed. I was just stating OEM placement.
I don't like icy roads at all. Never have. You drive well and carefully which I appreciate. I really like how you explain the equipment you use. Thorough and plain talk. Thank you.
You keep saying Desert, but I'm not sure you know what that word means ~ Sincerely, Arizona
The cant pump your own gas was the silliest thing I've ever seen! ~ Also Arizona! :)
Love your Channel! Keep up the good work!
I know exactly what it means, and that’s why I say it.
@@CaseyLaDelle Well you also say taco bell is mexican food so theres that lol! Just funning you Sir!
Good Morning Casey! Always a pleasure to see your video's.
Casey I always enjoy your videos your filming makes it feel like we are there with you which is a great thing.
I hope to one day get the opportunity to meet you in person.
I went to Salem the same day, lots of trucks and cars in the ditch. Good running buddy 😂
Nothing wrong with nice and easy!! Good video. Always enjoy seeing what you're up to 😀
From Minnesota, have driven in snow and cold. Looked like all Uhaul needed was a good push. That wet ice/packed snow will slip and slide every time.
Aren't awesome video and recovery helping that guy in the u-haul truck, People Are so inquisitive and happy to know each and everything you do. I like your videos cause I never know what you're gonna do and that's the exciting part of it thank you for sharing
any opinion on Casey's MTBI?! I'm fascinated by his character and personality! what a character. I mean, if this dude was my buddy, I'd be up on him like you gotta be on CZcams man! Casey - you're making great stuff.
Nice and easy job 👌🏻 👍
Which truck does Riley like to go to school in? I really like the DJI camera. The video is more life like.
Rollback
@@CaseyLaDelle LOL, I will bet that she will one day drive it too. She is a treasure!!
@@Rat-Builder she already has, look back through my shorts lol
That was a simple one 👍🏾👍🏾
Good Morning .
With the weather here, it's nice to have someone pump the gas for me. The icing on the cake is when they clean either the windshield or the back window.
I can remember when they used to check the oil and radiator fluids!
Back in 67, after Asian Vacay, I worked at a gas station in Anaheim. We pumped gas, cleaned all windows, checked oil, rad, Trans, tires, etc, now that's full service. Cash box on island so we didn't have to go into convience (whos?), store to prepay. 22 yo back then and my hi sch friends would come by, (those who weren't still in Nam). Now I live in Ore. Friend of mine lives in Prineville, tells me the town is in a Crater (lake) without the water.
Thanks for the camera info. Like your style.just the facts
Great video, thanks for having us along for the adventures, always lked winter there, could clean the dirt off the dash and seats, would stay clean till spring when the dust and dirt start flying again
Being a lay 80’s Ford the second tank would be behind the axle, with the tanks inside of the frame the exhaust would be real close to the right rand tank position
Wrong
I like the shot of you picking up the tripod, reminds me of Survivorman back in the day
Love the DJI A3s!
Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for the gear break down, you do great work...
