I guess I've always been poor, cheap, or smart. Once the salesman added up all the extras on my 07 Honda helix a 4,999.00 topped out at 7,700.00 . Of course I walked away. Two years later I bought a 07 helix with the same options for 2,000. With a 250.00 custom made cover. It wasn't running, but within 20 minutes she was good as new. Here it's 2023 and she still runs great. I'm looking forward to putting 100k miles on her this year.
Don’t know the costs for the big GS, but I have not had to spend much for service beyond normal wear to tires, brakes, chain. I do my own oil changes, but not much else.
In the UK we have to pay an annual tax for every vehicle. The highest tax band for motorcycles is anything over 600cc which makes these 650cc bike in the highest band along with the 1300cc. People with a new car will pay about 1/3 the cost because they have been put in a low emissions band.😢

Absolutely love my Versys 650 LT, 10k miles without a single issue, cheap to maintain and starts every time.
how about parts and services at dealership? I thought versys was almost as expensive to maintain than the big GS
