I can’t believe I’m just now hearing of this. Praying for all the individuals involved and mostly the family members of lost loved ones in this horrific crash

I worked in the trucking industry, loadings long haul trucks all across the United States.
It’s the 18 wheeled trucks that are causing these types of accidents.
I live in Fort Worth and travel these highways AND farm-to-market back roads, and these f’ing 18 wheelers are hell on wheels, going as fast as they can and expecting everyone to GET OUT OF THEIR WAY! Long haul truckers are very much needed for society to survive, but safety first should always be the motto.

The " New" Truck Drivers are dangerous beyond the imagination of any reasonable person.
I have been a Pro- Driver 30 years.
I get very nervous around these new drivers. We rarely had accidents like these.

Agree 100%. I almost got hit 3 times last week driving up north from LA. Twice almost got side swiped into the ditch and the third time the guy just swerved into my lane without any warning.

Hate me if you want! No one needs to travel at 70 plus mph...in any weather! People are too distracted by everything in their vehicles today. You have no reaction time in freezing cold weather, which they had been experiencing for several days. You know when you are on ice...you slow down. You don't go 70. Especially in an 18 wheeler! Truckers used to be the most experienced, courteous drivers on the highway.

Fuckin hell I wouldn’t have even risked going 50 on that ice. This is coming from somebody who drives on ice annually for three or four months of the year.

I live off of Northside drive and I was able to watch this in real life and real time. The media wants to portray these people as driving to fast well I can assure you they were not going 70mph and the reason for the crash wasnt really the drivers fault entirely. The real contributing factor was bridge ice, black ice, freezing rain and fog, The biggest thing was this particular bridge is a downgrade aka hill and its all bridge when the accident happened people were going downhill on ice they couldnt see and even at 20mph they wouldnt have been able to stop. This particular stretch was also STILL under sonstruction even though reported to be complete. I dont dispute those arrogant people that think they know how to drive on ice, but I can assure you NOBODY can without specialist equipment. Fort Worth sadly doesnt have equipment to handle icing like most northern cities which is also another contributing factor.

My ex would go fast on snow and ice in his truck. He swore it gave him more traction or something lol but he never wrecked and he was doing 70 so maybe he was right (unlikely). He never drove through cities or populated roads that fast though. I still wonder how he never wrecked 🤷🏽‍♀️

So you think the people on the other side should have been going fast? In the bad conditions that caused the accidents in the first place? At that point what else you gonna look at when you have to go 3mph and everything to the left is jacked and there isn’t a thing you can do from that lane? You’d be looking too lol 😆
