    Just installed this kit on my 21 TRD OR and love it! Your install videos (this one and the Ironman one) made it a hell of alot easier for me! My fronts came pre assembled but at the bottom notch (I wanted the second notch) and I used your method of using the truck and a jack to compress the assembly to take it apart and it worked like a charm! Thanks and keep up the awesome content! Maybe I'll see you on some AZ trails soon!

    congrats on a DIY, I installed the same kit myself and copied the OME install video where instead of taking coilover out the top, you disconnect lower control arm and let it drop out the bottom. Was very smooth easy install.
    I bought new KYB top hats and spring compressors and didn’t have to disassemble old coilover just assemble the new one. Also I used .25 inch thick billet spacer on drivers side top hat to compensate for “taco lean. I’m very happy with the kit

    Not sure if you follow tacomaworld but Eibach has stated that the sway bar spacers are generally not needed, especially for the smaller sway bar on the off-road models. Some people with sport models have needed them due to the thicker sway bar, but it is hit and miss.

    Great video. I changed my front and rear suspension in the garage a few weeks ago. First time doing suspension work for me and I cant believe how easy it was, just time consuming. I used my floor jack to decompress and compress my coil springs and that worked perfectly. I went with Dobinsons coil springs and struts. I replaced the upper control arms with the Jba offroad upper control arms . And a two inch add a leaf with bigger shocks and u bolts on the rear. Im thinking I'm just going to get new leaf packs from Dobinsons here in the next couple months for the rear . I also replaced my bumpstops front and rear. SumoSprings on rear and Duro bumps on the front.

    Well Done! The front install was an adventure as I compressed the shocks myself. After that initial adventure the front went smooth for an inexperienced garage mechanic. I'm currently on the rear install. The difference is that I'm installing HeadStrongs 3-Leaf AAL instead of the 1 inch block. It requires a few more steps but I'm excited for the results. Question: Do the sway bar, control arms, etc, seem a bit snug in the front? I'm installing 1.5 inch spacers today to finish the look in the front and to have a bit more room with the aggressive stance. Thoughts on spacers?

      It makes sense to do it the way you did, if also replacing the UCA’s but it seems like un-needed steps in this application? Not that I really know, just what I’ve seen on the CZcamss, in preparation to do mine.

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  Před 4 lety

      I agree that is one way to do it. However you will most likely shift your alignment dropping the lower control arm because you have to loosen the bolts to the lower control arm before you remove the bolts to the knuckle. If you watch my install video of my Ironman 4x4 suspension I actually lower the lower control arm to disassemble the coilover on the truck.

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  Před 4 lety

      karma corp why would we use lube and grease on bolts when we live in the desert. It will just attract dust into the threads and cause more harm than good. But you are right, it’s not hard...lube is soft and pliable.

    • @katjaunffalk
      @katjaunffalk Před 4 lety

      @@AdventureBuilt Your viewers live in dessert areas only, really?
      W/o lube on the thread you get too much friction between the threads. But the bolt dimensions are calculated to get the right torque by getting more lenght when tightem them. So lube the threads, reduce friction in the threads and you will get the correct torque. Some basic engineering guidelines.....

      The different perch settings basically compress the spring to different heights. While the top perch gives you the most amount of lift it compresses the spring to do so your truck has less sag. I think eibach recommends first notch for 2 inch lift, second and third notch is only recommended if youre adding weight to the front (bumper, winch, etc). I could be wrong, i will be getting this kit as soon as its available!

    What is it with all these 2 and 3 in life kits. Why don't they just make a 4 in lift kit like they used to years ago.

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  Před 4 lety +1

      I think it is all about the cv boot angles. The 4” lift will put a lot of stress because of the CV angle. I’m sure lift companies don’t want to deal with front diff drop. And honestly I’m fitting 35” tires with a 2.5” lift with some minor fender trimming. Although the look is different.

    • @baditz77
      @baditz77 Před 4 lety +1

      The 4” lift kits require cutting the crossmember to drop the drive shaft. Most people are not willing to cut their crossmember. 2-3” usually get the average person the right amount of lift to do daily driving and OffRoad. If you want to go 4” I would do a SAS just to get the freedom of flexing. The cost is wayyy to much for me though. 32-33” tires work perfectly fine for me.
