Just installed this kit on my 21 TRD OR and love it! Your install videos (this one and the Ironman one) made it a hell of alot easier for me! My fronts came pre assembled but at the bottom notch (I wanted the second notch) and I used your method of using the truck and a jack to compress the assembly to take it apart and it worked like a charm! Thanks and keep up the awesome content! Maybe I'll see you on some AZ trails soon!
@@fyermun lots of people run it on the highest setting. I believe it just preloads the spring a bit more causing a bit harsher of a ride. I'm on the middle perch with OEM bumper and it rides nice.
congrats on a DIY, I installed the same kit myself and copied the OME install video where instead of taking coilover out the top, you disconnect lower control arm and let it drop out the bottom. Was very smooth easy install. I bought new KYB top hats and spring compressors and didn’t have to disassemble old coilover just assemble the new one. Also I used .25 inch thick billet spacer on drivers side top hat to compensate for “taco lean. I’m very happy with the kit
Also its a pain in the butt but you can usually fit the spring compressors on there if you start in one of the bigger coils and then go round and round until they are well spaced out and then compress the springs.
Not sure if you follow tacomaworld but Eibach has stated that the sway bar spacers are generally not needed, especially for the smaller sway bar on the off-road models. Some people with sport models have needed them due to the thicker sway bar, but it is hit and miss. I just installed my Eibach kit on sunday and love the ride so far.
Chris Clements great information. Thank you. I’ll take a look. It’s a great ride. What tires are you running. I’m wondering how much the ride will change when I put on the 35 Nitto MT’s.
@@AdventureBuilt I get my new tires on Friday. I’m getting 255/75-17 Duratracs in SL load, on an FN countersteer x wheel. @@chrisclements460 What about dropping the front differential? The noise might go away. It is recommended if lift is over 2", based on installers and feedback from customers.
I have the same lift (still not installed). I called Eibach and they said the bottom setting is 2” and the top two are to compensate for bumpers and winches
This is awesome do it yourself, thank you for posting, I plan someday to replace the suspension in my Taco, trying to wear out the stock suspension (its the off-road model w/ Bilstein). But at least I finally found a video, that I can follow to save time.
Great video. I changed my front and rear suspension in the garage a few weeks ago. First time doing suspension work for me and I cant believe how easy it was, just time consuming. I used my floor jack to decompress and compress my coil springs and that worked perfectly. I went with Dobinsons coil springs and struts. I replaced the upper control arms with the Jba offroad upper control arms . And a two inch add a leaf with bigger shocks and u bolts on the rear. Im thinking I'm just going to get new leaf packs from Dobinsons here in the next couple months for the rear . I also replaced my bumpstops front and rear. SumoSprings on rear and Duro bumps on the front.
Nice man. Sounds like you have some hidden mechanical skills. I hope the video was helpful in finding your inner mechanic! Sounds like you have a nice setup now. Go enjoy it.
Just thought I would say thanks for this video. Even over a year old I still reference the info you provided. Today I was looking for the torque specs on the rear end after a shim install. Thanks again keep up the good work on your channel.
You might want to consider checking and re-torque the u-bolts nuts after a couple of hundred miles or so. U-bolts stretch a bit when first torqued. I've modified or replace the suspensions on four different vehicles and every one needed between a half and a full turn to bring them back to spec.
U should torque after to drop the truck on the suspension because u run the risk of something that’s needs to love not being able to properly, which could cause a serious issue
I’m sorry man. I’m going to contribute that to the awesome CZcams video so everyone is running out to buy it. Hopefully they come back in stock soon!!!
Do you ever use anti-seize to aid in any future work/upgrades? Also, on older vehicles with some corrosion, would you use a penetrating oil the day before to assist loosening of the bolts? Thanks! Great video.
Thank you very much. Honestly because I live in the desert I don’t have the moisture to have to worry about those kinds of things. It is a real concern everywhere else and all good ideas.
Thank you. I ended up replacing the kit with the Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pro Stage 2. The Eibach kit was great but ended up needing the UCA’s to get a good alignment.
Well Done! The front install was an adventure as I compressed the shocks myself. After that initial adventure the front went smooth for an inexperienced garage mechanic. I'm installing 1.5 inch spacers today to finish the look in the front and to have a bit more room with the aggressive stance. Thoughts on spacers?

You have the top Ring is 2" of lift but the other guy have the Lower bottom was 2.5" with the same Eibach Pro Lift System. Why they are so different of Lift? From what I am understand is that Top Ring is use for Stock Spring and Lower Ring is for Eibach Springs?

It makes sense to do it the way you did, if also replacing the UCA’s but it seems like un-needed steps in this application? Not that I really know, just what I’ve seen on the CZcamss, in preparation to do mine.
I agree that is one way to do it. However you will most likely shift your alignment dropping the lower control arm because you have to loosen the bolts to the lower control arm before you remove the bolts to the knuckle. If you watch my install video of my Ironman 4x4 suspension I actually lower the lower control arm to disassemble the coilover on the truck.

Hey Josh. I don’t think it does. At least my kit didn’t come with them. I’m not sure if they are needed but they are definitely a good idea. I used mine from another lift kit.
If you can put together a piece of ikea furniture you can put a lift kit on a truck with the right tools!!! If it is your first kit it might take you 6-7 hours. I say go for it!!!
The different perch settings basically compress the spring to different heights. While the top perch gives you the most amount of lift it compresses the spring to do so your truck has less sag. It is effective but you have a much stiffer ride without something heavy like a bumper to help compress the spring. I hope this answers your question.
SuperHikler it is a great budget suspension. I drove it around for a few weeks with the stock wheels and tires and it handled almost identical to stock on the road. Great work man! One thing thought, is that with 2.5 inch lift upfront, it would be perfect for 32 inch tires, and maybe 33 (big maybe), but no way you would fit 35's.
33s prob still will rub. To go 35 must also do a cmc and cutting fenders. My 32s fit fine stock, just did a 2in bilstein lift and it looks even better.
@@AdventureBuilt Can't really afford someone to make a custom one but if you hear of some off road company that makes a leveling kit or a lift kit of 2 to 3" for the 2020 Chevy traverse please let me know thank you for responding
Impossible. You have to remove them and put them in a coil spring compressor to disassemble, adjust and reassemble. It’s the only thing I don’t like about the kit.
I think it is all about the cv boot angles. The 4” lift will put a lot of stress because of the CV angle. I’m sure lift companies don’t want to deal with front diff drop. And honestly I’m fitting 35” tires with a 2.5” lift with some minor fender trimming. Although the look is different.
The 4” lift kits require cutting the crossmember to drop the drive shaft. Most people are not willing to cut their crossmember. 2-3” usually get the average person the right amount of lift to do daily driving and OffRoad. If you want to go 4” I would do a SAS just to get the freedom of flexing. The cost is wayyy to much for me though. 32-33” tires work perfectly fine for me.
As a Master Technician, you ALWAYS need the alignment checked after disassembling or modifying suspension. Worst case if you dont, you kill your tires and the steering feels sloppy.
I have this on my 2016 F150 and WOW! What a hidden gem on a lift kit! Love it!

@@AdventureBuilt thanks for the info! you deserve more views and subcriber! very nice and detailed content.
Not really a dyi, since he has take the coil and shock mounted in a shop. I guess he’s not familiar with jack compression method.
Was following directions from the factory. I did it a different way when I did the Ironman kit. Still installed it DIY.
Does the kit brings the sway bar relocation block?
I just got this kit today from Headstrong Offroad and it came with the swaybar relocation block.
@@Jaymzth007 awesome, thank you for the reply. I order mines last week from realtruck.com but it didn’t say anything about it
great lift, too bad you can't get it
Yea I know supply sucks now. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
Do you have the taco lean or this kit evens it out
I have never had an issue with the lean. Lucky me.
@@AdventureBuilt oh nice what did you torque the u bolts to bro
Who took the bite out of the Saguaro at the end?
I’m guessing Mother Nature got hungry hahahaha.
What is it with all these 2 and 3 in life kits. Why don't they just make a 4 in lift kit like they used to years ago.
Did you have any issues with vibrations anywhere after the Eibach lift?
Nope. No vibration at all. Just make sure everything is torqued and retorqued!!!!!
What size tires are you running?
Toyo MT 35x12.5x17
Where did you get the sway bar relocation blocks?
The came in the Eibach Kit.
Who'd a thunk, Daniel Negreanu can wrench?
Would this work on a sr5?
If it is 4x4 yea otherwise I don’t think so. I would call Eibach. They have great customer service that can give you a definitive answer. Thanks.
Great Video! I have a 2020 TRD Sport. Will that Eibach Lift kit hold 33" tires?
Michael Dodson thank you very much. Absolutely. I fit 35” tires on mine with some trimming.
No diff drop spacers ?
No the kit doesn’t call for them. And the driveline angles don’t look crazy.
Would you recommend one???
Whoever is grinding those tabs to get the skid plate off, should probably not be working on their own vehicle
Did you need an alignment after the install?
Joel Araniva luckily I did not.
As a Master Technician, you ALWAYS need the alignment checked after disassembling or modifying suspension. Worst case if you dont, you kill your tires and the steering feels sloppy.
That front will settle..for a more level look
Why not ironman4x4 on the tacoma?
Francisco Chong Loo right now it’s the expense but I’m really looking at going that way still. Just trying to stay married bro!!!
@@AdventureBuilt hows the 4runner with ironman4x4 fcp???are you guys doing a review after trips at all?
Francisco Chong Loo we definitely will as soon as we get a good trip in. Keep checking back. Thank you.
35’s? Better be ready for a re-gear!!!
Gazziza29 definitely working on that one. Just waiting for the funds to show their dirty little heads.
Get some new tires on that thing!
Toyota will void your warranty for any suspension changes... just saying....
Did u get an alignment?
