  • In this video I talk about switching my tool kit from a DIY tool roll (that's now falling apart) to a mini saddle bag from Outer Shell.

Thanks for your video! You inspired me to sew a little saddlebag similar to your new one. I used the LearnMYOG Zip Pouch Pattern generator to make a pouch to the dimensions I wanted. I just added webbing to the outside before sewing it together.

Check out the Lead Out saddle bag roll, it is like the one you made and might fit your stuff and still be compact

I really like the bag you made, it seemed to carry all your stuff and kept things organized. Plus there is nothing cooler than making your own stuff. You are very talented, thanks for sharing!!!

Another super video Hannah! Wow you are badass! Sewing your original saddle tool roll! I'm impressed! Ya, it IS hard to pare down. Especially if you have one tubed and one tubeless rig. Great idea in any case to carry a tube because 'you never know ' and sure enough, you'll need it. Thanks for the helpful tips and letting us in on your packing/thinking process! I tend to carry too many tools so I appreciate the wolftooth idea. I almost always wear my Sugoi hi vis shell and the thing has arms that detach with magnets. I stuff zip ties in one of the deep inner seam pockets & thus they are always with me. (I also tend to almost always wear my helmet, so I zip tied my super bright Bontrager Flare R daytime light to the back of my helmet.) Love the videos! Thanks for the hard work!

TPUs are a great emergency tube for the bag. Saves so much space and super lightweight.

I'm sure you know you could go with a custom saddle bag. One in the same width & height, but long enough to fit your Wolftooth Pliers. A few years back I had flat on each tire on the same ride, but at different times. I found gmbn video about patching & sewing. My mother was kind enough to help me sew both tires & then used slime to glue a motorcycle tire patch on the inside over the areas that were sewn. Rear lasted a year before the tire was worn out, front lasted a little longer. I'd do it again & rec it to people.

I like a small triangular frame bag that sits either at the front of the top tube or the rear. I have one of each for two of my bikes. I can fit all my tools an even a mini pump. However they aren't aesthetically pleasing.

I gave up, and use the Extra-Friggin'-Incredibly-Huge Topeak Aero Wedge. Two tubes, two CO2's and "detonator", Crank brothers M19, Lezyne aluminum tire levers, a box with an assortment of chain quick links, house keys, three-way spoke wrench, and Tire Glider (although I've recently gotten a Tire Monkey, and I think I like it better). Yes, it weighs just south of three pounds, but I've used ALL of it on rides (you definitely want me riding sweep on your group rides), and the weight is less than the two 24-oz water bottles I carry in the hot weather. Your solution is much more elegant.

Great video as always. It looks like you might be able to fit the wolf tooth 🐺 multi tool in the bag if you put it in first from corner to opposite corner & bend the silver allen key if you didn’t tried that already. Hope that helps.

Take a look at the Roadrunner bags Drafter saddle bag. Great little bag and does not have a zipper that can fail. Great job on your videos!

Single-speed... in that middle ground between a fully geared bike and a fixie... without the benefits of either... nor the drawbacks.
