Flight of the Leprechaun in about 5 Mph Breeze. I haven't flown it for a while and forgot just how well it floats about. Some of the video looks like it's been slowed down but it really is flying that slow.
Another early morning flight of the Leprechaun in about 5 Mph Breeze. I haven't flown it for a while and forgot just how well it floats about. Some of the video looks like it's been slowed down but it really is flying that slow.
It flies like a tame bird - it wheels around, comes back to nudge you for reassurance then floats away to soar and circle round the sky... Magic! Many thanks again.
I re-watched the video after reading your comment. A whole new perspective hit me. I actually saw that bird as a living, breathing being. Doing exactly what you described.
Watching your videos has the most calming effects. The world is crazy but for a few minutes all that is forgotten when I watch your graceful planes fly.
Your gliders take on a near pet-like persona...like a retriever happily returning a ball to its owner. Thank you for your videos...they are literally therapeutic to me and a source of calming peace. Keep sharing your art!
I'm a traditionalist. Build it yourself using plans, balsa, and Monokote. I also like slow, gentle, elevator and rudder planes. This plane is perfect!!
Hands down my favorite plane you have flown John. As always the video and accompanying musical score capture the perfect feeling. Thank you for the distraction during these troubled times. May God bless you and your family with safety and good health.
Nearly 80 now and have been flying gliders since I was 14. Gliders have always been my love and will continue to be so. I just wished I lived on the coast where I can slope there are no places around Phoenix that I'm aware of to fly sloping. Hang in there guy keep them coming I love it!
Lots of designs you put up for us are charming and/or intriguing, John. But this one really tweaks my strings. I may never get to build or fly one, but your flights sure prod me to do so! Thanks for sharing!
You have the best RC Glider videos. I live in the flat land now, no hills to fly on. These videos remind me of the joy of slope flying. Thanks for sharing.
Questo è modellismo!! Il vero modellismo. Un volo lentissimo, magico, solo il modello ed il suo costruttore, niente ansia ma tanta poesia a spazio per lasciar volare anche i propri pensieri. Bravissimo
Beautiful video. Great flying. Very nicely built and covered airship. After watching your videos, I just want to run out and buy every one of your featured planes.
Very uplifting video! Thank you for sharing your passion! She is a one in a million sailplane! While she certainly can float, she obviously is pretty nimble as well! Very common combination from an older design, well done!
EVERYTHING about your videos... this one especially. It's magical! Your planes, your site, the transparent colors, the backdrop. This one gave me goose bumps! Keep'm come'n! Thanks for inviting us into your wonderful site!!!
John I love watching how you work that rudder to inch it forward through the g-ello thick air where your flying ... the lady did some wonderful shots of it perowetting around your head (not sure I spelled that one correctly) but fun watching ... Thanks John ... A future bucket list punch item go fly with John in England some day !! 😍💚 Ed in Phoenix writes.
Just letting go of her. Not throwing her where you want her to go, not holding her back from where she wants to go. Just letting her go to do what she does best, dance on the wind.
a beautiful video to remind all us r/c flyers that good days are coming, thanks John, I will venture out to my deserted field for a fly later on, bless from NZ down under :)
When the Leprechaun was featured in the AMA magazine, it looked bigger somehow. It was also powered. I thought the airfoil in the horizontal stabilizer would cause the tail to rise. The reviewer said it could just levitate in a slight breeze. I guess you built a beauty.
John, your models are like - a naked woman riding a horse is the most beautiful sight for a man - for a modeller it is the view of your soaring oldtimers
Until about 1981, there were very few RC gliders with ailerons. That changed when composites and powerful winches came on the scene, followed by smaller, lighter servos and receivers.
Wish I could still fly some slopers grew up in southern California had to transfer to southern Indiana where powered planes are king , still have some of my old slopers though, thanks for sharing !
it's hard to watch your stuff being a poor working man but I have everything I need to build a few cheap slope soarer and can't wait I'm amped up been into rc planes for 7 years thank to flite test. your stuff has always been inspiring. I see now to have what I wanted in life that I saw in your video's wasn't the stuff or the pretty planes. its the peace of mind knowing your hard work makes everything you wanted happen. you had to have worked hard to build and own all that. each one an artist and construction masterpiece. as each part of your day must have been worked on to correlate with life itself. this in itself explain life as a hole to me. things like rc planes and the people behind the groups on the internet have helped me build a life and write a story worth living even if no one reads it. so thank you. like flite test you help show what hard work makes.

It's wonderful John..😍.
Love the gentle flight! Did you build this model?
Beautiful John !!
Which glider is it ?
Were can I found the plan ?
Hello John, where can I buy this glider?
Beautiful! Thank you.
I would like to press the Like button 1000 times if it makes any sense. No turbulences, no hectic maneuvers, this breathtaking nature, just beautiful
Thank you so much!

This is one of the most beautiful rc videos I have ever seen! What a stunning glider and a great piece of flying too!
Watching your videos has the most calming effects. The world is crazy but for a few minutes all that is forgotten when I watch your graceful planes fly.
Certainly lowers the blood pressure….
Great the way it just floats out of your hand. Lovely !
The effortless hand launches make it seem like it's filled with helium. Beautiful and soothing.
Your gliders take on a near pet-like persona...like a retriever happily returning a ball to its owner. Thank you for your videos...they are literally therapeutic to me and a source of calming peace. Keep sharing your art!
I can see why you keep coming back to this model, it just looks right. Simply wonderful.....
I'm a traditionalist. Build it yourself using plans, balsa, and Monokote. I also like slow, gentle, elevator and rudder planes. This plane is perfect!!
I've watched this video a thousand times, I've already bought my kit, and I can't wait to start building. Greetings from Brazil.
Its free-flight ancestry shows in the light loading and designed-in stability - a pleasure to watch. Thanks
Wow now I know why I have been flying rc gliders for over 30 years . The plane , pilot , editor , and videographer all win CZcams . 👍 to all !
Hands down my favorite plane you have flown John. As always the video and accompanying musical score capture the perfect feeling. Thank you for the distraction during these troubled times. May God bless you and your family with safety and good health.

Move 😇
The romantic dimension of a silent flight.
Wow, a symphony in the wind
Beautiful, thanks for adding a smile to my morning.
I love how you launch it simply by letting go - it's so gentle!
I could spend the whole day watching your videos. Such pleasure. Kudos to the cameraman and the editor.Love your choice of music too.
Thanks Peter. I’m lucky that my wife always comes out and films my flying. She is very good at it!
Hi John, beautiful to watch. Can you tell what the music is? Thanks. Krgds
Lots of designs you put up for us are charming and/or intriguing, John. But this one really tweaks my strings. I may never get to build or fly one, but your flights sure prod me to do so! Thanks for sharing!
I hear that your videos are being prescribed as a relaxation aid. So soothing. Thank you and your camera person for creating these pills. 👍
What a princess of the sky this is hey , just a beast of a thing, must build 1 ,one day thanks for showing 🤙🤙🤙
Just lovely. Happy to see it flying again!
Poetry in motion. Great filming and music to complement it. Well done!!

I live in the flat land now, no hills to fly on.

Thanks for sharing.
That kind of glider and a place like that to fly, you truly have it made!
Planes, location.music and filming are just outstanding your a real inspiration. The Leprechaun and Super Sinbad definitely have my vote. Thank's
Thank you!
It takes great skill to fly a glider that way and knowledge of the thermals coming off the ocean.
Uu
It really looks fantastic. It resembles those birds which glide for long periods. Congratulations
Complimenti per il volo e la colonna sonora del video! Veramente spettacolare.
When you first picked it up and it was just suddenly floating it hurt my brain for a second 😂 great flying plane!
Simply great, John . You handle the plane like a pet , an amazing and calming video. Greatings from Germany, Wolfgang
Thank you Wolfgang.
Vraiment très beau et agréable à regarder. Bravo à votre compagne pour toutes ces prises de vues et le montage. merci pour le travail et le partage !
Your right ! And Enjoyed watching you two doing what you enjoy !!
Perfect combination of fin area and dihedral 👌
I never get bored watching these things fly!
A great glider, perfectly set up and skillfully flown!
This is the most great of the great. Good job for you both 👍
Stay safe, wash your hands, and keep physical distancing
Talk about a plane that WANTS to be in the air!
your flying is poetry, a ballet. anyone can yank and crank an aircraft around the air. you fly the air around the aircraft. cheers!
Questo è modellismo!! Il vero modellismo. Un volo lentissimo, magico, solo il modello ed il suo costruttore, niente ansia ma tanta poesia a spazio per lasciar volare anche i propri pensieri. Bravissimo
The ocean waves add to this video. Waves rolling in from a long journey. Not crashing into the shore. Just gently tumbling to rest.
She is gorgeous
This video makes me love this sport even more! So beautiful!
Beautiful flyer! So graceful!
Your videos are beautiful. Your models are absolutely lovely. Your flying is brilliant. All so peaceful and soothing. Thank you.
Thank you!
Beautiful video. Great flying. Very nicely built and covered airship. After watching your videos, I just want to run out and buy every one of your featured planes.
Amazing the level of control that you have with it...excellent!
Your wife does a fantastic job filming. The Leprechaun is a great flying sailplane!
She does, a steady Eddie without any Eddie’s 😏
This one is poetry !! 😍😍 Lovvit !!
Nice Balsa designs! And what a great flying site.... Makes me miss Hawaii
Very uplifting video! Thank you for sharing your passion! She is a one in a million sailplane! While she certainly can float, she obviously is pretty nimble as well! Very common combination from an older design, well done!
Flying, the way it‘s meant to be.
Poetry, a quintessential airplane. Reminds me of the classic Sinbad made by Berkley models in the U.S. in the 1940s and '50s.
Simply beautiful! Amazing launch - lift and release! Beautiful slow flight and tight turns. The music is a perfect match for the grace of this glider.
Thank you for watching
That is beautiful.
They are like pets running to their master.
EVERYTHING about your videos... this one especially. It's magical! Your planes, your site, the transparent colors, the backdrop.
This one gave me goose bumps!
Keep'm come'n!
Thanks for inviting us into your wonderful site!!!
Thank you so much!
That’s a beautiful glider…
What a lovely graceful glider.
Thanks... reminded me how much I love that. Gotta find a another bluff that hasn't been built on!
Man, you are an inspiration. I love your videos.
i can see the rudder movements steering glider into the wind. it' s wonderful.
It's so smooth and gentle... L❤️ve it so...
Lift = weight = thrust = drag....Perfection!
John I love watching how you work that rudder to inch it forward through the g-ello thick air where your flying ... the lady did some wonderful shots of it perowetting around your head (not sure I spelled that one correctly) but fun watching ... Thanks Ed! You will be more than welcome here and can have a go with any of my gliders.
WOW! Just when I thought I'd already seen your best. Nice video. Great plane. Thanks John!!
Thank you!
Beautiful video, weather, airplane and very good Pilot and camerawoman 👍🏻
Just letting go of her. Not throwing her where you want her to go, not holding her back from where she wants to go. Just letting her go to do what she does best, dance on the wind.
The way you control your models resemble large pets cavorting around you. Simply stunning, sir.
Thank you
a beautiful video to remind all us r/c flyers that good days are coming, thanks John, I will venture out to my deserted field for a fly later on, bless from NZ down under :)
Amazing John... Always you magnífica gliders... Thanks my friend
Marcelo Aranega thank you!

I feel amazing when he release that glider dont need to throw! Wow
Man...this glider moves so beautyfull
Your planes don't fly, they dance. Great!
Always one of my favorite most relaxing part of my week is your videos! Thank you!
Stunning plane, great flying and pat on the back for the camera man!
John, your models are like - a naked woman riding a horse is the most beautiful sight for a man - for a modeller it is the view of your soaring oldtimers
All your planes look so awesome and you fly so very well I am impressed every time I watch one of your videos! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching.
3:50 turns beautiful just with rudder elevator controls and no ailerons 🙂
Until about 1981, there were very few RC gliders with ailerons. That changed when composites and powerful winches came on the scene, followed by smaller, lighter servos and receivers.
@@awuma Oh yes!!! I remember my old 62" Sinbad from SIG... it was meant for single channel rudder only, by rubber escapment!
top class camerawork!
That takeoff... Beautiful flight 👏
I don’t know anything about gliders or flying but that was amazing to me. Nice music also. 💯👍🏻👍🏻
I cried while watching the video, this was it definitely ! I built one on my own and its already finished for spring ! 😍🥰
Fantastic stuff, hope you have some great flights with it.
Beautiful John.... how can anyone give it a thumbs down... Its a superb model in a superb location
Wonderful video sir. Thank you!
Thank you
very good to post the constructions, I like your work here in Brazil.
That's a real aeromodeller's aeroplane. Great performance. I prefer the vintage models that needed "building" not taking out of the box.
Wish I could still fly some slopers grew up in southern California had to transfer to southern Indiana where powered planes are king , still have some of my old slopers though, thanks for sharing !
Amazing glider, the home of the flying spirits!

As a man who smashed many a rc glider in my younger years your flying is outstanding!
Thank you!
Great flyer indeed! Beautiful to watch it soar. And with only a rudder and elevator! (Nice music too, well done!)
whoever is holding the camera really knows their craft!
Thank you. I’m lucky that my wife always comes out and films my flights. She is very good at it.
This makes my hopped up two wheel drive brushless stampede seem really hectic..
Beautiful glider.. only just started following your channel, love your videos.
Thank you!
When you picked it up and just sat it in the air.....
You just can't beat smooth air. Nice glider, by the way.
