Great video, i was planning to replace my tv and most affordable tv have only 2 hdmi connection, no more analog. My comcast cable box still in analog never upgraded hd signal for extra $10 a month, since I stream most of my shows online using chromecast to get hd signal.
Do you think this would work with an av switcher? I have 7 older consoles I'm looking to hookup to my new tv and was wondering if I can still switch signals even if it ends up going through hdmi on the end
Do you find that the picture is a step up from a good non HD TV or a step down with the older player? I have an older Mitsubishi tv with dvd recorder and player that has an excellent analog picture and I am wondering if they will look as good being run through a converter to an HDMI TV. I am hesitant to part with the older tv in my collection if for no other reason than to have a superior view(analog to analog) vs running legacy components through a converter. Thoughts?? Excellent video btw....easy to follow, thanks for making it for us!!
Is there any reason why you need a converter? They also make an RCA to HDMI cable (white/red/yellow RCA jacks at one end and HDMI on the other end) without the converter but I can't find any information on the internet as to why you would need the converter over the more simpler cable setup without the converter.
Do you specifically need RCA cables? cause I have a Onn HDMI converter that bought yesterday & used the cables from the DVD & VHS player & the cables have the yellow, red, & white tip on it but I don't think it's RCA & I'm plugged in all the cables into the correct slot & connected my Xbox 1 into an old Mitsubishi TV but nothing isn't showing up & I have it on input 1, input 2, & input 3 but nothing is working
So there was an option on your TV to switch it to 4:3 ratio? I'm worried if I run my VCR through one of these eveything will be stretched to widescreen.
Flying Monet I actually made a stupid mistake. I bought virtually the opposite converter, rather than RCA to HDMI I had bought a HDMI to RCA. Just make sure you didn’t switch them up like I did
I got this same converter you got here from best buy, tried my VRC but cannot get it to work, I went to HDMI#1 and choose same on the menu input and nothing, I tried different HDMI cable, different new RCA cables, went to HDMI2 and HDMI3 and nothing , any ideas why is not working? I get my 11 year old every weekend and he brings his VHS movies so I really wanna get this fixed for next weekend, he brings the VCR with him, so I Know the VCR works fine elsewhere.
No, without playing around with your tv, I would t know what the issue could be. It might be a input or setup issue on your tv. You might call the tv helpline.
I have this same exact converter and I too have a sony Bravia with one composite jack set on it. I've tried both and they both look like crap on my tv. Dark, blurry and pixelated. Guess the TV just sucks. I tried changing all settings and nothing. For some reason the HDMI converter seems to stretch out the image on my tv to fit it with no way to make it better. I'll play with it on my new 4k tv one day when I have time but for now my PS2 and N64 are in my closet in a tote. I need a crt tv but I have no room ha
That's what I'd like to know too. Best buy has it for 39.99 and I found a WalMart one for 14 bucks. Wondering if it's a "you get what you pay for" thing.
Bought this since my tv didn’t have any of the rca inputs. Playing GameCube and ps2 and have noticed that my screen looks really off and blurry because of the converter, might just buy another tv with rca
If anyone is seeing this I figured out the problem. I needed a RCA to HDMI cable I got the opposite, or the other way around idk so if it doesn't work return it and get the opposite!
That was a pointless video. The point of these devices is if your HDMI adapter is broken that's what these are made for so if your HDMI port is broken and you can't hook up HDMI but you're AV ports work the red yellow and white you hook this up to a device with HDMI the signal is downgraded a little bit obviously but it works so basically if you wanted to hook up a Blu-ray player and it only had HDMI you would hook up the HDMI cable to the Blu-ray player and then the red yellow and white cables to the TV and you be able to use your HDMI Blu-Ray player
Would this be a great solution for an older Bose sound system. We recently bought a new Sony 4K tv that was released just this year but in the meantime we’ve used a older 2017 Samsung 4K tv until the Sony arrives. I mentioned the Samsung because when we tried plugging in the yellow, red, and white cables to the tv we got nothing from the Bose. If that’s the case with the Samsung it’s likely to be the same with the even newer Sony Bravia.
This video is hits with my nostalgia.
So this is for hooking up old systems to new tvs where the composite doesn't work?
Do you use Surround sound system receiver for cranking up the volume to hear the Sound from your Surround receiver?
If mine doesn’t turn on does that mean it’s just busted and I got a faulty product?
Thank you......great video
Works with my VCR,ps1,ps3 and Xbox thanks
Got a link to purchase the devise?
That’s a beautiful ring
Would this make it possible to hook up hdmi PC to a old TV?
Hey will that hook up work for my older DVD player?
Does any hdmi cable work for this converter or do you need a specific one?

I bought this converter with a new HDMI. I hooked it up to my Vizio tv. The picture was super scrambled then lost signal. Any suggestions?
I need help I bought the insignia converter and plugged it in and I get a blue screen I don’t know what to do

I may be wrong but i believe the pro is that the converter upscales the image to 720/1080p
Thank you. Late Night Chicago Radio
Did it add input lag?

Why does my RCA cord have a fourth black plug?

Most tvs should have a 4:3 aspect ratio setting.
Does it work with pal wii?
bought this same converter and can’t get the TV to detect the device, have a samsung 4k UHD TV. any idea why?

You should have come back to the dark Rock outcropping after switching to 1080P.
How do you switch from widescreen to 4:3?
Thru your tv display settings
Trying to play Gran Turismo 2 on a Sony X900H using one of these converter. The picture is too dark. There's no difference between 720 and 1080
You can Get them on eBay or Amazon very cheap.
