The part of the lyrics when he sings "when your own have died, when there's no more pride, when your soul is frozen, is that enough" I get this feeling of sorrow and rage. Its like fighting against something that's caused you to suffer wholly unnecessary grief. I mean, I get that's the emotion the song is trying to convey.
@@exxor9108 i always got the impression that this song is calling out the American military industrial complex, this system that keeps working class Americans (especially those in rural areas) poor so that they have no choice but to join the army to escape poverty. Then these young men are sent overseas to fight on behalf of big oil and gas and the military industrial complex, and come home broken (whether it be physical injuries or PTSD) or they simply don't come home at all.

Draiman's voice is rockingly wild! Yet, you can sense the delicate gentleness that weaves in and out of the chorus from time to time.

I don’t know why but this song makes me think of my relationship with my girlfriend and the opposition from our moms. I love her and I feel like the feeling is mutual but our parents don’t want us together. Her mom is a bit more understanding but mine isn’t. This song basically how I feel all the time. Before I put facade as my favorite song by disturbed but this one beats it easily.
