- Nicotine pouches are the next product using fun flavors and advertising to hook Australians to nicotine, according to experts.
Though illegal to import, their popularity has skyrocketed nationally in recent years and are now available in stores right across the country.
Experts worry young Australians may switch from one vice to another with nicotine pouches being a likely replacement.
The fruity-flavoured pouches are tobacco free but still loaded with nicotine - with some containing the equivalent of ten packets of cigarettes.
From 2022 to 2023, the seizure of nicotine pouches at the Australian border exploded from just over 108,000 units to almost 3.5 million.

Nicotine as a substance is no more harmful than coffee it is the act of smoking and vaping that presents the risk , nicotine is used in many medicines to treat neurological conditions in the elderly, but yes it isn't desirable and it would be better if in 100yrs it had benn consigned to history

If you are using it to get off the vapes make sure you start with 6mg and then taoer down after 2 weeks or so to 3mg then mindfully say NO to a pouch more often to wean off.

Nicotine is in broccoli; a Doctor in the USA doesn't smoke and doesn't speak highly of smoking but uses a nicotine patch everyday for the health benefits. We have been listening to so called experts for far too long and everything is getting worse and worse.
I was using Zyn for a long time but switched to Velo because it doesn't have act-k. I used it to quite smoking cigarettes i didn't have any intention of quitting nicotine. I do use them sparingly as even the artificial sugar will spike your blood sugar. I wish they didn't have sugar at all.

@@Prognosis__ exactly right they go after healthier alternatives like smokeless tobacco I’m here in the states and let me tell you Copenhagen almost got there warning labels off there cans smokeless tobacco or tobacco free nicotine products are way safer than cigarettes at every single angle. Cigarettes are at the top for leading mouth cancer smokless tobacco is not even in the top ten I’ve known people who dipped for 50 years no issues but I’ve had many people I’ve know have health problems from cigarettes. People just don’t know that smoking tobacco is way worse than any tobacco products that are smokeless or tobacco free then they say oh gum disease or tooth decay or gum decay you literally get gum decay from brushing your teeth you get tooth decay from eating even brushing your teeth these so called health experts are full of shit and bought and paid by cigarette companies
