its funny how on the show danno is ALWAYS talking and steve never says a word, but in real life, alex likes to talk a lot and scott likes to be quiet. LOVE THEM BOTH
I don't think it's that they don't want to be doing the interview. More like they probably have to answer the same questions (more or less) and are trying to come up with different answers. Plus, Scott has said that he doesn't like interviews that much. Alex seems to answer the questions first, which I'm sure Scott appreciates.
I've only seen a couple of interviews with these guys but I think Scott's pretty mellow IRL because he's kind of calm in most of his interviews. They are basically the new Starsky & Hutch. If you watch old interviews with David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser (both hotties in their day), they said the same thing: that the writing, editing, etc. was out of their hands so they worked on the relationship between the two men and that was what was special about the show. Aside from that, the similarities to S&H are numerous: one more laid-back character, one more in your face, lots of scenes filmed in the car, one messy, one neat, etc. etc.

I think most people hate living somewhere when it's very different from what they're used to and they're essentially forced to be there. Not everyone dreams of living on an island, much less of being required to be there for 9-10 months out of each year, year after year. Likewise, a few years in, it's normal to have gotten used to it and, especially for somewhere like Hawaii, to have grown to like it.
I haven't seen that interview but did read about it. Maybe it was taken out of context IDK but I think for Scott it was a matter of he was home sick ( which is understandable) he had family and friends back in LA and he wanted to do other things. Those feelings can make a person dislike a place. I don't think he meant it in a horrible way but I understand people getting upset over it as well. We all love our homes and when others say they hate it we don't understand why and we get defensive about it. If Scott absolutely hated hawaii he would have left the show along time ago. He probably should've worded his words differently maybe say I miss LA and my family and friends. On the other side Alex found his home in Hawaii bc the culture the beach the lifestyle reminds him of Australia. He even said he gets abit teary bc some of the islands feel like Australia so he got the best of both worlds. He actually didn't like LA and won't live there again. We all have our places and we just need to keep in mind that our homes are not for everyone as hard as that is to understand.

Alex said that Scott is one of the most honest people he's ever met and Scott has said he doesn't particularly like doing interviews so Alex takes the lead and I'm sure Scott is thankful for that....they had the amazing chemistry from Day one and their off screen friendship carried over to the show...Scott said very recently that Alex is his brother for life and his family til the day he dies...a fan just posted a pic of them together on the beach in Hawaii August 6th 2023....so these two have a life long bond...
Put yourself in their shoes lots of different factors can play apart in someone's mood. For 1 they are both dressed as their characters. So this would have been done inbetween takes. They probably both have been up since the early hours of the morning. The second is yeah actors get asked the same questions over and over. Imagine a kid asking you the same question a thousand times how are you going feel. Same as if you've been up at 4am, they may be actors but they are human.
I think Scott is one of the best actors around....he can change the emotions in a room with a look or a gesture...he can literally giggle and be sad at the same time...for a good example of that watch season 4 episode 19 when Steve and Danny are trapped in the bombed out building and Steve first finds him under the rocks...and Alex even said when he directed season 8 episode 18 that he " was afraid to give Scott direction.....because he's so good at what he does and is such an instinctual actor and he's my mate..." I just respectfully disagree that Scott can't act...my opinion only...
