  • NEW PROJECT!
4 years after my green R80 Scrambler, it was time for a new project.
Selling that previous one after a year always left some kind of hole that the Ducati Scrambler couldn't really fill.
I found this 1992 R80RT with 132.000km's on the clock.
It runs well and starts, rides and brakes like it should.
The windshield and panniers had to go, as will many other parts soon.
I cleaned up the most greasy parts before the ride, that way I'll clearly notice any new leaking. So far everything looks very good though.
    Many more video's will follow!

    Hi T.
Looks like a very well cared for bike in excellent condition.
I think you will be very satisfied with that one. Looking forward to see what you come up with this time 😀 .
Hope to see some build videos soon.
    Best regards
    T.

Hi! It seems to be in good condition. Starts very well everytime and no leaking so far, but I have only been able to do a very short test ride, with the Covid-19 situation it'll be inside for some time. I was happy with the overall look of the previous one, but this time I'll spend some more attention to detail, quality and safety/legality :) You can expect one video every week I think.

Thanks! I have not decided on a color yet. Seat and grips will be dark brown like last time, so suggestions are welcome!

@@ThomasC Hey, I just have one question, I've been wondering for a while! From where did you purchase / or what make was it that windshield / screen that you had on that original build?

    • @ThomasC
      @ThomasC  Před 4 lety +1

@@jimbean4945 "MRA Roadshield", I still have it. It didn't help much though, it blocks a bit of wind from hitting your body, but it causes turbulent air where your helmet has to go through and makes your head wobble the whole time. I can tell you that after riding 10h straight (Prague - home) my neck was pretty much broken :)

132.000 km? It looks almost new! Wow
    Any mechanical problems ?

Once you start looking at details you see traces of its 28 years of service, but it starts from the first try and all works perfectly! Previous owner did take good care of it I assume.
