- PROJECT UPDATE!
Now that all individual parts were ready, I could (finally) assemble everything again and get the bike back on its wheels.
I rolled her outside, started it for the first time in 5 weeks and made my first test rides.
The work is not over though.
The speedometer needs to be calibrated, because at the moment it doesn't show any speed, I'll show the whole process in the next video.
The rear light isn't very big and the brake light function isn't clear enough in daylight, so I think I'll install an extra LED strip to function as a brake light only.
I left the front fender off for the time being, but I'm planning to finish that off at a later time. I won't be riding this bike in the rain so it's not going to be of much use anyway.
The brakes are quite mushy because I didn't take the time to bleed it thoroughly, it brakes allright but I want that firm grip on the lever so this will be the first thing I do.
It also ran on only 1 cylinder, but I made some quick adjustments and it seems to be better already. As soon as my mechanic has time I'll drop the bike off and let him take a good look at it.
I have an oil filter, gaskets and fresh oil waiting, so next time we get a couple of rainy days here in Belgium I'll get those installed.
Once all that is done I think I can call the project finished, then you can expect some more video's about some trips I hope to make with it this summer.
Love it.. just finished one myself , and I’ve also got it booked in for a mechanic to look at it, think it’s the mixture need sorting on mine.
Great job buddy, looks really nice👍🏻
I love it! Hope to see you and your bro enjoying a few road trips ;)
We certainly will! :-)
Amazing job! Well done!
Fuckin killer. Great job. WHAT A BACHELOR PAD YOU GUYS GOT THERE!
Love it 😍
Great work!
Awesome project!!! One question how tall are you and would you recommend this bike for someone 6 feet tall ?
Super boulot.
Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and magnificent build video. You have given me the inspiration and confidence to continue and complete my project build. I have a quick question, what is the paint finish on the stock frame? Is it a satin black, gloss black or high gloss?
High gloss and two layers of clear varnish with light sanding in between
As far as I know the stock paint is called Satin Gloss.
hello, can you give me the reference of the new black brake oïl hose ? I 'd'ont find on the net (dimension, site, ..)
Looks great! What tire size of the Heidenau do you run on the back? Couldn‘t quite tell from the video but I think I read 130/80 18? If so does it have enough clearance to the swingarm?
You read it right! Enough clearance but not enough to go for a 140
Looks so good! Which BMW badges did you get? Do you have a link please?
The 70mm diameter ones here: www.caferacerwebshop.com/nl/bmw-70mm-embleem-rv2-series.html
@@ThomasC Thanks!!
Is dit het 55cm of 60cm subframe + zadel?? Alvast bedankt.
60cm
Le pneu avant ne serait-il pas monter à l'envers?
Is your brother also putting up videos?
Yes he is, and even better ones than mine. Check the link in the top right corner at the beginning of the video!
Hi tire size?
great work, really looks great and sounds. Could you tell me what exhaust you used?
Check the second episode!
@@ThomasC thank You
Hey man! How can i get in contact with you. I have a couple of questions when it comes to the electrical parts your doing. (Just bought my self an BMW R80, and just doing some research at this time. Best regards Felix
Do you trust that side stand? Mine is very questionable
It hasn't failed yet :-) I asked my mechanic about the sideways play, the pin it turns on would have to be drilled out and a new one will have to be welded in, since it's part of the frame and not a bolt-on part. I ordered a work stand to put under the engine block during storage at home, that way it'll always stand upright and safe.
What’s your Brothers handle so I can follow his project 👍🏻
Very nice! Where exactly do you come from?
Flanders, Belgium
@@ThomasC vant zelfde mooie moto!
May I ask you what kind of tyre you mounted on your bike ( brand and dimension .... rear and front ) Thanks a lot ........
Watch the other episodes, it´s all shown. I don´t remember all those details so I´d have to look it up myself.
@@ThomasC Thanks Thomas ... I can see the brand Heidenau but not the exact dimension ....
