In my humble opinion this is the single greatest guitar performance ever recorded. Brings me to tears - literally.
I agree. It's epic

me to.
Yep same hear, stunning !
Gary Moore is an all time great, as is Roy. This song in Roy’s hands is just something special though czcams.com/video/On5372UztI0/video.html
Well up every time!!!
In 1977 my first concert was Queen with opening act Thin Lizzy. Just turned 14 and just started playing guitar. Other than Boys Are Back knew nothing else by Lizzy but was well aware of Queen.
Our seats were about 8 rows back from the stage, on the left.
Right in my line of vision is this man who absolutely torched not only Lizzys set but for me completely overshadowed anything Freddie and the boys did.
That man was Gary Moore, filling in for Brian Robertson.
He was then and is still now my main guitar inspiration. He could play a night full of mistakes and it would still be incredible.
I had not seen this video but was aware of the cover.
Folks,, this guy will never get the recognition he deserves because he wasn’t popular and not in MTV, but he was absolutely the best.. you pick the genre and he’d kill it.
This video like others has that classic Gary element of sailing out into a calm ocean and then being caught in the chaos & fury of an ocean storm then brought gently back in and returned safely and awed by nature’s fury. Nobody did this better.
He was a true master in every sense and played circles around all of his contemporaries.
There’s something about that Irish rage and emotion that gives his music and Rory Gallaghers material the same sort of emotional element.
He has left us but these performances are totally brilliant.
The finest guitarist that ever lived.
👍
Playing one of the finest guitars ever built.
@@paulkelcher824 sure the guitar has some unmistakable color, but it feels like a baseball bat. When Peter had it he would wrap it in clothes that were scattered around in the car boot (trunk in yank). Peter didn't have time or room for a suitcase or guitar case. The top hats came from Easterling Music in Vidalia Louisiana, they wouldn't fit the pot post on my Fender Music Master, when I saw the knobs needed to be replaced, I had them in my jacket pocket and said, these don't match, but they beat the ones you have. Peter replaced the worst one and tried to give back the other, after I assured him I had no use for it, he put it in his pocket. Peter had some very heavy guage strings on that LP that made the rest of us Ernie Ball Super-Slinky fans wince at the first touch. As I grew up and had a few LP's of my own I used 11's because of the 24&3/4" scale, but compared to what Peter was using on his 59 mine felt like light guage. Billy Bob Thornton told me that Gary Moore ended up with Pete's 59 and other than the knobs and neck pickup you couldn't tell it was the same guitar after Gary cleaned the years of sweat and funk off of it, crusty falls dismally short trying to describe how nasty that guitar was when Peter Green had it. It was nastier than any of the Roy Galeger or Rusty Burns guitars, and that's saying a lot. RIP Peter, Gary, Rusty, and Roy. (I never met Roy).
Certainty one of the greats, SRV was good too
He plays Roy Buchanans song..Roy wrote the song ..it was his perhaps greatest work......Gary Moore I will always love ....but if you want to here it done 1,000 times greater....listen to the Original master of the Telecaster perform HIS song. Roy Buchanan cannot be duplicated. Roy Buchanan blew EVERYONE else away. Hendrix Clapton Beck PPP age Zappa Betts ..Duane...Buddy Guy. Albert King......NO ONE ..... ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ....COULD MAKE A GUITAR SCREAM LIKE ROY BUCHANAN. ROY COULD DO IT ALL...CLEAN
I actually cryed my eyes out for a while when I heard Gary had died, it was like a bareavement in my family. I grew up with Gary's music day in day out, watched him live several times, and tried to play his stuff. I still sorely miss wating to buy his latest release and hearing him melt my face of or move me to tears again. That was and still is the magic he had, he could take you through the full gamit of your emotions in a few minutes with just one song. "THESE ARE MY MEMORIES... COMING HOME." R.I.P.
Amen.
''Business as usual.'' ??
these are my memories - business as usual ''brilliant''
One of the best songs on CZcams , perfect everything.
Gary transcends technique ,his emotional connection,is so moving ,yet he can still blast away like a metal player, still one of my favourites ,I never get tired of listening to his mastery of the instrument ,a real loss to the music world, this trac ,has it all.
Gary had an operatic sense of drama, along with his raw emotion and melodic grace-such a talent which was taken from us way too soon. One of my heroes for sure!
Yeah mine too!
Far too soon.
Saw Gary play this one on the Still Got The Blues tour at Newcastle City Hall. During those quiet sections, you could hear a pin drop. Even my girlfriend at the time (who went to the gig under protest, being a Stock Aitken Waterman fan) said afterwards... "I had no idea music could be that powerful... it's not just about catchy tunes is it?" My reply? "One more of us, one less of them!"
Haha yep! The top players always give you something more, that you can't quite describe.
Thats brilliant!
I'm jealous... I wish I could hear it live.
@@wingsofpegasus Gary gave us Moore.!!
I guess I'm not the only one who can't listen to Gary Moore without making guitar faces. He just crawls right inside you and rips your emotions to shreds. One of the most brilliant players ever.
Yeah he's top of the league for that too!
I heard quite a bit of Gary, playing, but this ,displays ,so many different sounds ,feels ,just a tour de force ,when he throws his head back, its just so visceral ,a real reminder of his versatility, and raw feel, it really does sound like a vocalist ,with such heart rending bends ,and blistering speed runs,if this doesnt affect you, check your pulse.
Your comment re how Moore was able ,with ease, to play at speed at then slam the brakes on and go into pure melodic Santanaesque mode playing slightly behind the beat and then capture your heart with a sustained vibrato note….100 % spot on. Amazing musician .
Unsure why there would be any thumbs down on this? R.I.P. Roy and Gary.
Amen.
For the same reason there is trouble in the world ... troublemakers! Haters have to hate. It is who they are, a lot of weird karma issues to workout.
Gary loved Roy and spent a summer listening. He nails this because he puts Moore into Playing ..it is his impression of Roys church like playing...while being himself
Perfectly said. It's a truly spiritual connection in this song. It's mournful sorrowful haunting ....very reflective. This song hits you immediately
IMHO, Moore is faithful to the spirit of Roy's Opus (which had a bit more pitch harmonics), but does such a superb cover, I think he owns it now! Love Moore's phrasing, technique, emotional intensity, and sensitive dynamics!🙂
Crazy how guitarists today have no idea who Roy is! He was truely the greatest ever and paved the way for all future guitarist!!!
👍
Its so sad .. dont know roy .. dont know rory prob dont even know gary .... we cant live without them .. and i haven for 50yrs ...
I read an article on Gary wherein he stated "one summer" he heard a Roy tune and decided to look into Buchanan more...and discover how he plays ("which isnt easy to play"..per Gary) so he spent that summer learning all he could....but played (as Roy constantly emphasized) "my way!".
True, Roy was one true bluesman 🎸 and so glad there are some younger gens out there listening to him
Leroy "Roy" Buchanan, an early guitar virtuoso, who wrote "The Messiah Will Come Again," could make that Fender Telecaster come alive with stunning pitch harmonics, and even produce a wah-wah sound through skillful manual volume control w/o need of a foot pedal effects device. Phenomenal guitarist. Too bad he was lost to the world under suspicious circumstances ... again, lost too early!
For me this era of Gary was his best. He was at his prime in this era
Your reaction is priceless and Genuine.Total respect and in awe of a guitarist who you obviously hold in the highest regard.
There is every technique in this and yes we try and get near however we will never see another Gary. Passion. If you plugged that guitar into Gary's heart this is what you would hear. He pours his soul onto each note. I am a guitarist I will never be Gary. Respect.
👍
For me who’s been gigging 46 yrs this is the finest guitar performance ever Phil 🎼🙏
Back in the day Roy Buchanan was known as the man who makes the guitar cry
This is better
He is a wizard at playing his emotionally fuelled vibrato. The man had soul for the masses when he played, sorely missed. I think vibrato is the key which is not easy to master. He made me want to master my own vibrato skills, great memories.
Yeah vibrato is massively overlooked in my opinion.
I was lucky enough to meet him a few times in my home town of Belfast. He was a nice guy and very modest. His vibrato has to be one of the best of all time. I think his fast playing was so good because he knew when to do it (he got better as he got older in conveying emotion). Some players just shred all the time and it's very boring. Music is emotional and the best players know how to convey that. The one thing I love about Gary is his improvisational ability. No two live versions of a song were the same. I saw him live in a little bar in Belfast before he broke it worldwide and he was absolutely on fire that night. He would definitely change some of his runs depending on how he felt.
Enjoyed watching you watch this one. Could tell you were really enjoying it.
Yeah Gary was a big influence on my playing when I was learning to play. I think every guitarist should check him out if they haven't!
My favorite guitar performance of all time....
with Free Bird live at Oakland '77 and also Knebworth '76, as well as live 25 or 6 to 4 at Tanglewood '70.
this was the song that made gary moore my favorite guitarist of all time.great video
Cool!
what you say is exactly what i thought when i first bought the dvd.The price of the dvd itself was worth just for this song alone. It virtually touched my soul and i said to myself that GOD really exist to put a player like Gary on this earth. He must be playing melodic music in heaven. At that time i paid like 30 pounds imported to south africa just for me.
Dear Gary you are in my mind and my heart forever,RIP genius
Saw gary do this a an encore at Manchester Apollo, he almost took the roof off of that place...im a player, and some of garys runs just knock my freakin socks off...I miss this guy so much 🍻🎸💞❤️
Nothing like spending a Sunday afternoon going though some of your analysis videos !
This is incredible! Speechless \m/🔥🎸🔥
This is AMAZING the Guitar is just Part of Himself One of the Most AMAZING Musician than Ever Lived !
Roy Buchanan.... The most under rated guitarist ever ! Thanks Pegasus... You have musical wisdom beyond your years
God Roy Buchanan was the greatest guitarist 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 that ever lived. I love Zappa Beck and Jimmy Page. My three favorites...composers song writers Wizards. But ...the three of them combined could live 1000 years......and they'd NEVER equal Roy Buchanan as a Master Guitarist. Roy played from within his Soul. He was a tortured man who wasn't happy being here. Only his guitar playing brought him close to God. I think Roy was actually communicating with God on a higher level.....through his incredible playing. I will listen to him until my time here ends. And hope in the next life I'll meet him to thank him for sharing his greatness with us. Rest in Heaven Roy. You will never be forgotten
Wow Pegasus, that was the best reply ever ! Thank you. I wish Roy was still here......until next time. Stay well
Thanks for reviewing and sharing your insights ... you're top-drawer!👍
two grossly underrated, Roy and Gary
I cry every time I hear Gary
To me this is the very best live guitar performance ever. I would rather hear it than any studio guitar track. Billy Bob Thornton introduced me to Gary when Billy was a roady for Thin Lizzy, I was like, okay. I never dreamed Gary would one day be responsible for some of my very favorite guitar performances. It's nice to see young'uns understand what seperates good playing from true virtuosity.
Yeah when learning how to play I think Gary Moore is essential as a reference!
Yeah Gary is an essential reference point for anyone learning how to play in my opinion.
wingsofpegasus in 1996 Rocky Athas handed me a CD where Gary was playing some type of Celtic/metal fusion I wasn't to exicited about the songs, but like always Gary's playing was top notch. I did hear some chops on the CD that Gary borrowed from Rocky in his lightening days, Thin Lizzy, wrote a song about Rocky named Cocky Rocky. Rocky was the First one of the Oak Cliff boys that got a deal, it was with Capricorn. They went over to cut their album and the creditors of Capricorn were stripping out everything but the shag carpet. In this business fate is one of the greatest foes anyone faces, you just have to spit some tobacco juice on the stings and double down, maybe fate will smile on your dedication and maybe it won't. Giving up is not an option. The world may never have a chance to know your potential, but the heavenly host is keeping track of every single note, so give it your best every time you have the chance, because music isn't like a car wash, it rings through eternity, and these stings, bumps, and bruises are temporal. Never give up, the wheel will find you, if you stay true to light you emanate.
Oh yeah, it helps if you are blessed with a head full of non-stop musical phrases rattling around in your noggin. As one comes your subconscious is working out the resolution, the higher quality the imput the greater the resolution will be. Most of the greatest musical talents I have encountered all have this special quality. LOL some are just thieves, we won't stroll down that rocky road. Protect your songs, and don't offer your services without a contract, a handshake isn't worth the paper it wasn't written on.
One more thing, if someone tries to act like they are doing you a favor, they're not. Practice and experience are not tangible results, because if you weren't at the stage where you could perform at the desired level, they wouldn't waste their time on you, they would be looking for someone else to vamp out of their years of practice and dedication, while siphoning off of their talents. Just make sure any deal you enter is as rewarding for you as it is for the people offering. Exposure has it's value, but if they are offering, how did they find you to start with? You can work on your stage presence at out of the way open mic nights, keep that to a minimum, make people pay for your art. With upwards of 7 billion people on this planet, you'll find your niche.
That is cool Fil. I enjoy watching your groove to it too. I felt a great sense of loss when Gary passed. Both of these guys are my list of favs.
Yeah I second that Noah!
Truly amazing player very clean sustain don't know what else to say either you get it or you don't. Hero to the masses. Gary you will live on for ever
Amen!
Keep the Vids coming
Maybe some bucket head or evh or whatever
Nicely illustrates why I love music so much...music is so much more than just playing a series of notes, it’s the emotion and feel that is communicated in the process!! Love this!!!
Amen!
great guitarist. such a shock when he left us.
as you know I was lucky enough to see him live when he supported Queen at Milton Keynes Bowl. he was incredible.
sadly missed.
Amen.
Thanks Fil .. Your reviews are always spot on ; the young players need to see the great players that paved the way for the rest of us .
Thanks! Amen!
When i saw him back in 1990 he did this one as the last encore and played it with lots of improvisation!! Man i was so totally blown away afterwords!! No one but Gary Moore could make his guitar sound so sad.
In my eyes this track is Gary Moore at his absolute best. Saw this tour, and a few others, the man was untouchable. It thrills me to know that other people hold this guy in such high esteem. I thought it was the only one.
👍
Great description of a true legend , great song choice ,love how he finds those different notes in the bend, awesome
Yeah he's one of my faves!
wingsofpegasus thanks for a reply ,by the way from what I've heard of you you're a great 🎸 IST , will keep an eye,ear out for ya
Let's not forget the great Andy Pyle on bass. He perfectly complements Gary.
Gary just lets the guitar do the talking, tell the story. The way blues should be.
Amen!
Gary was a superb guitarist so underrated along with his Irish brother the great Rory Gallagher
@@paulmckeown8840 amen to you .. rory .. gary .. and roy ..
This playing sends a chill up the spine and brings tears to your eyes. I could almost loop this tune for hours. Gary was a criminally overlooked player here in the states. Such a contrast in styles between him and Buchanan. Lots of nods to Buchanan's style with a splash of Moore. Well, much more than a splash, really...
This is a video that I cannot see enough of. I like to listen to Buchanan's version (from Rock Palast) and Gary's back to back. Such different styles, but so much raw emotion. I think Roy would be blown away by Gary's interpretation of this tune. Lots of nods to Roys style in this.
Yeah it's awesome!
Thanks a million Pegasus! I love this and I love your analysis! Gary is so great and emotional!
Thanks!
This guy knocks me out, and you are so right Fil that not many players can make their instrument emote♡
👍
One could say that Roy plays this IN the Church (reverentially) and Gary plays on the steeples ( inspired to say Hey!)
I've been a musician for over 55 years and I've seen some of the greats live, including Hendrix, BB King and Jeff Beck. But IMHO Gary may very well be there best guitar player that ever lived and this may be the greatest guitar performance ever recorded.
Watching Gary wail and letting the notes cry and then the scary fast climb around 312-ish and then he grabs another blue note and applies the good ol' BB King one note stinger... Classic Gary, what an amazing talent and gone too soon.
RIP Gary!
I'm really enjoying these video reviews and tend to agree with your take on them so far. Thanks for sharing your insights!
Thanks Paul! No problem!
Are you talking about that bend near the 3:15 ? I'm relatively new to music so bear with me please 😂
This is just beyond awesome. So otherworldly! First time hearing this video.
👍
After you have seen GARY MOORE....it's like all the other great guitarists are no longer exciting anymore. GM has set the bar so high here, it is unlikely any guitarist past, present or future can accomplish what he did here. With respect to Mr Buchanan, Mr Bonamassa, Mr Stevie Ray Vaughan (one of Gary's insperations), Mr Clapton, Mr Satriani, Mr Van Halen, Mr Santana... and all those I have no time to list (you get my point) this is the greatest example of electric guitar mastery ever caught on tape. Whether it’s single note, rhythm, string bending, vibrato, hammering, arpeggio, tone, scale, pentatonics, proper diatonics, finger picking, or power chords.. this is the epitome of mastery of the guitar. I doubt you can find a guitar player that would disagree. It disappeared for about a year or more on CZcams and I’m glad it’s back. It should be shared with anyone you can get to listen. The world should remember Gary Moore.!!
Gary Moore was a gentleman, he helped Buddy Whittington when John Mayall went with Rocky Athas and Greg Rabb in his newer lineup. Buddy held that spot for 15 years, that's longer than George Harrison was a Beatle. Gary was a big help when it came to Buddy landing on his feet, Gary Moore was already my favorite Guitarist, but my opinion of him as a man went way up considering his dealings with Buddy. RIP Gary
While Gary Moore's life was short, he left behind art that will inspire, awe for generations of guitarists to come.
Another nice presentation built on respect. Thank you!
I bought After The War where i believe the studio version of this cover came from right when it was released. Also a Roy B fan (Livestock) and Gary nailed The Messiah Will Come Again in grand style. Insane!!
Yeah this was awesome!
Can you imagine Roy Buchanan with a wig on imitating Gary Moore imitating himself?
Definitely one of the finest guitar instrumentals (EVER) listening to this you get blasted in the Hurricane of pure power and emotion , Gary Moore , wander what roy would have thought of it ??
How cool was it that Peter Green traded this 59 with the famous out of phase configured pickups for one of Gary's SG's. They were great friends & that tone they both achieved with their own styles & approaches was true rock & blues history. No one will make that Les Paul wail like Gary did. It never mattered to him whether it was Blues or all out hard rock or a mellow tune he always put that 110% all out drive & passion into it as if it were the last song he would ever play . We all will miss him very much.
Amen.
I can't understand why Rolling Stone magazine didn't include Gary Moore when it ranked the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. He is the best rock blues guitarist I have heard in my 63 years of life, and 48 years playing guitar
Because they think Keith Richards and the dweeb from Pink Floyd are astounding. Because they believe George Harrison could outplay Gary Moore.😅
Beautiful track, Gary put so much into everything he did, it was emotional but so aggressive too. The attack of a guitar is fierce and those who knew him said his anger in his playing came from the attack that left him scarred. He was somewhat underrated but will be sadly missed. RIP Gary 🙏
Hi Phil Gary was such a awesome guitarist he is so missed
Yeah taken much too soon.
Glad you liked my suggestion, told you it was good! What did you think of the other one I suggested, The Prophet? His best version of that is the album version. So full of emotion. Apparently, the reason for his amazing vibrato was that he was a lefty that played right-handed, it gave him that extra strength to ring the notes out of every thing he played.
Haha yeah thanks for the suggestion! I get to them all eventually!
Brilliant the best rip
Been expecting to see Gary and BB video playing The Thrill is Gone. One of my fav CZcams music vids. Two of your favorites playing together! Gary playing Roy is awesome too.
One for the future!
The ultimate crying blues guitar tune. Right up there with Jimi's performance of Hear My Train A Comin from Rainbow Bridge. Breathtaking.
Yea master he should've had more recognition..he was one of the best...
I remember a video of Gary saying how he happened upon Roy and spent a summer listening to him..and it wasnt easy to play...and developed from there on...
Your absolutely right Gary made this his song.. and has the impact on many covers he does for real.. I know alot of people say that alot but Gary truly did.
R.I.P Gary, You're Still The Best...💯💔🙏
How have i not seen this from Gary.
Thanks for this.
No problem!
Simply putted Gary was the Beauty and the Beast.
Maybe somewhere down the road you could review over the hills and far away live from Montreux 2010 I consider this to be one of the finest pieces of music I've ever heard
Wow thanks brother... I'm you took the suggestion. Gary just fused his own power to Roy and blew my mind.., I was at this concert and remembering would he play this and when he did I was in absolute AWE. ..more passion and emotion than any of today's popular "player's "... Raw power
No problem dude! Thanks for the suggestion!
We all shake hands. But certain days we shake hands more or less differently. This song...Roy's identifier played by Gary, I think exemplifies what Gary hears IN Roys playing and uses volume swells to power forward the music on concert stage...meanwhile our private Master plays same song as uf he is IN a church..quietly leading you along the music of the pray until an explosion of the feeling you just knew was coming and finally did.
Artist can do this w songs...put their own emotional power into it
to me the greatest gary moore instrumental. The feeling is something you cant put in word when it grips you.
After this song you’re ready to die in peace...
👍
Difficult half-step (quarter-step?) trap Gary fell into there with the bend/drop... hard to resolve that...he just barely pulled it off.
That's Gary at his best. Flawless bends and awesome vibrato. And those dynamics, of course. The guitar was truly an extension of his soul.
Now that I think about it, a modern player who uses dynamics a lot is Paul Gilbert.
Have you done a video of Michael Schenker yet?
Not yet!
Sorry, I’ve been pushing you to review this video in other comments. It wasn’t coming up under my searches of your reviews under the song title so I didn’t know you had reviewed it. That said, it qualifies if you ever want to break apart and anyluze all the pieces of this master performance in its entirety, which I believe, is unparalleled in history. There I said it. This might be the greatest guitar instrumental in history. 👍
This is my favorite piece of guitar music...from my favorite player. An absolute tutorial. I miss him. Gone way too soon....will be remembered forever. Thanks for the review of this MASTER.
yeah.i fully agree with you 100%
Gary Moore is England’s SRV without a doubt. He was utterly amazing in style, feel, and attack. Like SRV he’s going to frustrate a lot of young players for many years to come. It’s going to be a long time until we see his like again
Amen.
We will never see his like again
England's? Move further West man....he is Irish
Irish.
Thinking about the emotional content behind a piece played by two of the top players....made me think of the difference emoted by the two versions.....
Roy's version to me was an internal prayer drawing you in....Gary's version is an exuberant call to a prayer's declaration
One of my greatest disappointments was never seeing THE MAN in person. The best compliment I ever got was when someone said, “You play like Gary Moore.” Not that I was anywhere even remotely as good, I just naturally play with a lot of bending and vibrato.
Underated singer too....
Every guitar fan should listen to his G Force album..
I'm old now but the band I was in (drummer) did a cover of Rockin n Rollin ,my late brother doing a great job emulating Gary ..
When listening to the messiah will come again you can hear where parisenne walkways came from....
My god i miss Gary Moore playing live.....
Yeah no one does it like Gary did.
My all time favourite number - I listened to this so many times already and never get tired of it. The sounds he produces are beyond words. Anyone out there I have a question, I used to listen to Santana albums (on Vinyl) for hours and there was a guitar solo that I just can't recall what it was called - starts with the sound of the sea washing up on a beach and is really a beautiful piece?
I don't know unfortunately!
I think it may be ‘Song of the Wind’, off the Caravanserai album. Or another track from that album.
@@ganazby Just been through the whole album, no its not that - really annoying and I wish I had kept my LP's, one was signed by Julian Bream!!
@@bigjazzer9888 Damn! If it comes to me, I’ll post it on here.
The Messiah Will Come always reminded me of Parisenne Walkways anyway. And Santana's Europa. What a treat Gary was and is!
Amen!
Speaking of Gary Moore, have you ever watched Thin Lizzy live at the National Stadium 1975? Gary’s not there, but it’s great. Watching from Texas.
Thanks for the reference!
Love that concert, cheers from Ireland!!
Im very curious now about sound.being a artist how people percieve things interests me,.my wife loves gary moore ,as does her father who worked at the bbc .But im a lonely american whose favorite guitarists are mick taylor, mark knopfler, ritchie blackmore, jeff beck ,and randy rhoads.love your videos ...and if i ever get back to the uk ill continue to support you man ..
Thanks dude!
Love this track. Thank you Fil. Any chance of reacting to Gary Moore with the wonderful Thin Lizzy doing Black Rose live? Thank you. Keep doing it.
Thanks Chris!
How does he get that amazing warm tone from the bridge pick up?!
Great vid. I have always felt that yes, Roy could duplicate any Hendrix song as others could. but why would he?
Its that interpretation that good artists are famous for.
Lets take this song....to me Roy played The Messiah almost as an internal prayer with some explosive licks...but his version is in the church alter. Gary's version is vibrato based interpretation inviting the whole world to come to the church .
So it is ultimately you the listner who tunes in and selects.
I love my fellow Irishman but Roys voice always calls me.
As to "best ever"...Buchanan once said from the stage "There is no best ever!"
What a talent! He left us way too early. Too bad I can't watch the video (not available in my Country).
That's annoying!
I listen to alot of music but I'm not sure if I heard him before but he kicks Ass
Gary makes it sing and you expect to see a Bigsby getting wrenched but no,
it's all in his Hands, incredible.
Another nice appreciation of the late great Gary Moore Fil.
A true Gentleman will always acknowledge those that went before him, and upon whose shoulders .... they stand.
Amen, so many great players from the past laid the bricks for others to build on.
Exactly Fil. Amen.
Gary Moore's sustaining tone is second to none !!
@ 3:10 wow! Gary Moore has a new fan. Thanks Fil. ROCK
No problem!
On top of this being GREAT,,, That is the Greeny guitar... The Holy Grail Les Paul
Yep!
This is great. All the greats mouth sync the notes as they play. Fil I just got thru watching Peter Frampton acoustic version of Black hole sun. When you climb to the top of ROCK mountain you'll find Peter, Gary,Roy. Should make list who you think the greats were go as far back as you want. See what every one comes up with. Dig your show
Thanks Brian!
Gary Moore got the scar on his face from being glassed in a bar fight back in Ireland I believe? An unbelievably gifted guitar player and singer as well, which brings me on to a request. An all girl 3 piece band from Scotland called The Amorettes playing classic rock. Its more about the Lead guitarist who also sings lead vocals and how hard it is to sing if you can that is but also play rhythm and lead and combine both. Interesting technique as well with the left hand more square than angled when playing solos? Hers a link to one of their live performances? Cheers Phil! czcams.com/video/89wJrwVLN2U/video.html
Thanks for the suggestion!
He was truly a great great guitarist 🎸....but ...he can't touch Roy Buchanan. Roy Buchanan was only toying with us. He was BEYOND ....any guitarist I've ever seen or heard ..NEXT LEVEL. But ...Gary was pretty good.
