I have been a musician for 60 years (bass) and I've heard many of the greats live - Jimi Hendrix, BB Kind, Jeff Beck and many more and IMHO - Gary Moore is the greatest guitar player that ever lived and this is the greatest guitar performance ever recorded. His performance is flawless - every single note - even those in his lightening fast runs are chosen in absolute perfection and performed perfectly.
Like I should have written it myself!🤗
Wonderful comment! I have a whole crowd of friends who agree with you 100%. And just imagine that sick-ass Rollin' Stone didn't even put him in their top 100! Pitiful! Thank you for that comment. Lil
I totally agree. 👍
Thank You dude!!!❤....Nobody could tell a Real story on the guitar but Gary!!!...i mean, c'mon
Gary Moore. The master. A wizard. Love seeing everyones first reaction to watching and listening to him play this.
Gary is the GOAT
That’s the difference between Gary Moore and every other guitarist. You can feel it physically when he plays.
Yep. Just like Eric Clapton said about Jeff Beck. There's blokes like me who play the guitar and then there's Jeff.
Yep
WHEN GARY PLAYS THE GUITAR THE TEARS ROLL OFF
Saw him 4 or 5 times and yes he is THAT good
I miss my hero .😔😭😔😭😔😔the best ever and never again.
No guitarist can evoke such emotion when playing as the late great Gary Moore....Irish legend
The greatest performance on Guitar I've ever seen.
I’ve saw and listened to thousands of guitar solos, this is up there with anything and probably the best ever caught on film. Yes it is that good
Gary can also sing. "Still got the blues" from this same concert is another must listen.
Great reaction buddy - so glad you found Gary Moore. Your life is changed forever.
great reaction brother Gary very underrated, I've seen him twice and been blown away twice. great reaction to a great. you should check out him and b b King doing thrill is gone man 2 legends thriving off each other. all power to you brother ✊️👍🏴 Scottish fan
I'd love to be able to play one note as well as Gary Moore. Just one.
R.I.P Gary, You're Still The Best...💯🙏💔
Gary Moore could play anything in any style. He was a master guitarist. I miss him so much.
Best guitarist ever. Period. You can trust me on this.
Next please react to "Parsienne Walkways Live Montreux 2010" , "Empty Rooms live at Stockholm" and "The Loner Live in Stockholm 1987".
Gary Moore was the finest guitar player that ever lived in my opinion - why ? What you just reacted to is a prime example, but mainly because he was so diverse at whatever genre he was involved with, and hell - the man could sing as well. For decades I'd always rated Duane Allman from the Allman Brothers Band as the best, but then Derek Trucks also from the Allman Brothers Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band came along, and I rated him above Duane. But always in the background was Gary Moore, and in the past few years I've really re-evaluated what each guitarist brought to the table, and hands down, the more I watched and listened to Gary Moore, the more obvious it became - he was the true master of the fret boards. Many out there will say what about SRV (not a fan),Jimmy Page,Hendrix,Clapton (like some of his stuff, but over-rated), Van Halen ? They're all talented as hell,no doubts, but in MY opinion, Gary Moore rises above them all - he never really got the kudos or acknowledgement that he deserved whilst he was alive, but that's what makes him appeal to me more. Been a fan of his for 50 years now,and it isn't gonna stop.
I absolutely agree. He could shred that guitar, but he could also make the guitar weep.
What can you say?
There is Chopin...
There is Rembrandt... (Funny how well the "Night Watch" (De Nachtwacht) underlines this video just below Gary's performance)...
There is Leonardo Da Vinci...
There is Pele....
And yeah.... There is Gary Moore!
Masterful in his hard rock/heavy metal time, but for me the maestro when he turned into the blues.
His songs tear me up. Straight away! This one included. And it must be. Because when an artist reach the status of All Being, his work must be playing your emotions.
Been to his concert in the last century, decades ago, in Rotterdam Ahoy in the early 90's.
Got all his CD's. I have a very broad interest and love for music all over the world. But Gary Moore (may he please G above with his heavenly guitar and voice, sorting out His feelings over us and the universe), is my top 5 all time favourite artist.
He is the reason why my favourite headphones are from Sennheiser. Also for decades.
My favourites? Parisienne Walkways and The Sky is Crying from the live album "Blues Alive" 1992. But all the others are awesome as well.
Thank you for posting this. I genuinely look forward to your Gary Moore journey...
Gary Moore's father bought him his first guitar and it had heavy gauge strings, so GM practiced and inadvertently built up the strength in his fingers.
When he then used lighter strings he found he could manipulate the string way more thus producing his unique sound. RIP Gary still the best.
Also what a lot of people don't know is that Gary was in fact left handed. Because that first guitar was a right handed one, Gary thought that he was meant to learn it that way. Therefore of course he bent the strings with his strongest hand.
6th February approaches, R.I.P Gary.
😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Thick or thin strings has nothing to do with this performance, it is played on the Green and it has a sound of it's own that no other guitar has because it's not correctly buildt.......it has a reversed magnet in the upper pick up and the pick up itself is mounted the wrong way after it was repaired by a guy that didnt know what he was doing in England at some point wich created this special sound.....
@@MrKveite1 A reversed magnet will NOT affect the individual sound of the pickups - at least not until they are switched to be both live, when they will be out of phase with one another. However I do agree the guitar sings like a prince - not least because of the giant guitarist is playing it.
Well read what is done to the Green and tell the guy that repaired it that you know better than him then and gl winning that argument sir.@@colineastwood1357
A masterpiece of guitar playing.....
Gary Moore, enjoy the ride.
RIP Gary Moore, legend.
Gary the king of Blues-Rock give here a Master Class, teaching how an electric guitar should be played and how it should sound
The GOAT in my opinion!
Wonderful.... for this you can wake me up , i love great guitar players and Gary Moore is definitely one of them 💖
This is insanely good...heart never better
It's always been difficult to decide which is better in this amazing piece: The time changes. The scale runs. The decibel runs. The internal tuning. Intertwining of several different genres into this fabulous piece. The classical pauses and other movements heard almost uniquely in classical.
After thinking about it, It's all of those and more that he does that makes this one of the best pieces ever. And GW the greatest guitarist ever. Jeff Beck was a master of different and new sounds on the guitar, but playing is all GW at the top spot.
Beautiful. He was truly a wizard on the guitar. Watch the old videos of the band Thin Lizzy. You see a very young Gary Moore playing the guitar and Phil Lynott the bass and vocals. Gary was a clever guy those days. He left the band in the middle of a tour. Because he was fed up with all the drug abuse in the band.
He is and was a true guitar artist, who wanted to perform at his best all the time. Nice reaction btw.
I heard Gary do this one as the last encore back in 1990 and he played with such passion, emotion and with lots of improvisation! A true memory for life.
If you haven't heard Gary`s Empty Rooms and The Loner you don't know who the Sustain Master is.
Gary was a one off played from the soul, not mindless widdling like a lot now 🙏🎼
lol, discovering gary moore is a one time wonderful thing
He is in the top 5 best guitar players ❤RIP sir & thank you for what you have left us
When God plays Guitar ❤
thx for the reaction and thx to the requestor..... shared it to the Nightdreamers Reacticide ofc. grts from a dutch guitarnerd in Sjermanie...
HE IS ON MY TOP 10 ALL TIME GUITARIST LIST...A GIANT
Yes he was AWESOME !!!! We need more like this,it is so great to watch and hear, gives me goosebumps that is for sure❤️❤️
Love watching your reaction. Incredible guitar man!
Belfast boy done good.
Soy fan de Gary Moore desde 1983 cuando escuche su disco Corridors of Power. Es un guitarrista sumamente preciso y emocional. Tocaba blues o rock en forma excelente.
You have to watch Gary playing still got the blues live.... Absolute poetry in motion👍
This is his finest ever , no one like him 🎼
I’m super happy that you were exposed to Gary Moore. He’s an amazing musician and so expressive, and I love how much you enjoy and appreciate him. Down the rabbit hole, lol. Keep reacting, I’ve just subscribed and look forward to watching the journey we will help you with.
Thanks for subbing!
The Lord of the Strings
RIP Gary, one of my big inspirations
O Man, you`ve missed a lot !!!!!!!! There`s so much material
Nobody else plays like this!
I loved your reaction to it, it was similar to mine when i first heard it. If i could recommend this video > (Gary Moore - Parsienne Walkways Live Montreux 2010..RIP...the last and the best version RIP Gary) < that is thr youtube title of the vid and probably the last performance i think he may have done, and it could be the best live performance i have seen from him. He is still to this day my favorite guitarist.
Gary the Belfast Boy best guitarist in the World. R I P
Just found you so not sure if you listen to another Gary Moore song yet, but yeah he can also sing real good!
I feel the same way you do. I have just discovered Gary in the last 6 months. He played with George Harrison While My Guitar Gently Weeps just before George died. I am 72 years old and from the USA. There are people I didn't know existed. He played in Skid Row and Thin Lizzy. When it comes to blues he has no rival. Not SRV, Jimmy- nobody. Have you ever heard a long guitar only solo that could hold your interest like this. Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird is great but is too long. I could listen to Gary for a long time.
Facts!
Dude, this guy is the shit!!!........i mean, Gary play SOUL blues, rock, jazz, metal and he SHREDD like a champion!!!.........Really, fak the rest, Gary is the only one that can do it that make your hair stand out i the way like - whata fak is this?!!!!!!!!!.........RIP
What a brilliant performance!!! Such a sad loss? RIP
gary is the player with the most feel i ever saw.i have seen all the shreders of the 80"s and he is as good as any of them and one of the small handfull of the best of all time
MY man Gary covering Roy Buchanan's epic song like it deserves.
Everyone music intelligence should know Gary's chops.
You watch a Joe Bonamassa vid because a lot of people on youtube says u need to watch this amazing guitarplayer and after that you watch this and after 30 sec you go Joe WHO.........
I grew up listening to this man,he is amazing from his day in Thin Lizzy. His solo work is also amazing. Check out his End of the World album. Or his blues albums.
Gary is the best
better then hendrix
Kirk Hammett has this guitar “Greeny” now…paid over a million for it…best sounding guitar ever made…the way it was wired was wrong but it made an incredible tone
forget about Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, BB King and many others. Gary Moore the king of blues-Rock was an unsurpassed master
An interesting fact is that hes muting the strings with his hands just as much as hes playing them.
the guitar runs so hot it's starting to make feedback noise just by looking at it, literally .
parisienne walkways 2010 montreux live, his best, 6 months before his death
Cara era fantástico demais tem do
Dla mnie, nikt tak nie umiał śpiewać gitarą, jak Gary Moore. Pozdrawiam z Polski.👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Hugs from Italy and Belgium
Fantastic reaction well come to Gary a true legend many great songs to do 1 for your list Jimmy Barnes ( stone cold) ft Joe bonnamassa epic many thanks love and respect from the UK 👍👍👍👍👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing 👍
Thin Lizzy were at the height of their fame about the same time Quo were. I love both bands but if you love quo you almost have to love Lizzy
Try a bit of Rory Gallagher 🇮🇪👍
In the end, the messiah have come. You hear it.
Sorry but this is a Roy Buchanan classic...you MUST check the original out!
Checked it …. This was better
@@gman5218 says a non-guitarist. ;-)
Gary didn't write this song but he did REWRITE it !!!!!!!!!
@@GuideauxPelagos Hey smart ass.
My father is a very good guitarist, and he also thinks that this is better. And yes,it is.
Second only to SRV…and imo Gary’s tone was much better than Stevie’s….if only SRV had put a Les Paul in his hands…but that wasn’t him, and I’m glad he did it his way
Stevie Ray was a one trick pony. He himself admitted in an interview he couldn't perform jazz. All he knew was blues/blues rock. Gary Moore mastered many styles and could freely improvise in them. For what it's worth, I think Moore was better in blues too than SRV.
Rolling Stone have just released a list of the top 250 guitar players. Gary wasn’t on it. He wasn’t on the three previous top 100 lists either.
LOL - That's all you can reply to RS lists with no GM. Perhaps they never heard of him because he's too cool.
OMG you havent done any thin lizzy reactions??? How can a quo fan never have heard of gary moore... Parisian walkways.... Empty rooms... FFS man catch up ;)
boys are back in town
