    Thank you so much for this. I have just bought a second-hand pair online from a total stranger. My very first ever pair of skates (I just started skating 3 weeks ago): quite risky when you know nothing about skates, but I did a bit of research on good brands. Your review has just boosted by confidence that I made the right choice. Let's just hope they fit.
    I'm looking forward to hugging mine.

    I have a pair of FR1 size 41/42 and I got pains too.
    So I bought the Intuition skate liners (size M) and this changed my life. They might surprise you the very first time because they're thin and tough at the same time but, after a few sessions when the liners will have broken in, you will realize how they are comfy, cushioning, responsive, reactive and effective. Plus, the high quality of the shock absorber makes every jump a formality for your knees.
    So, not only pains vanished but also, my skating leveled up thanks to these liners.
    One thing: I use a pair of Intuition Insole shims between the liner and the shell in order to fill the extra space.
    The Intuition liners are a game changer and I warmly recommend them.

    Great review, I just splashed out on a pair largely on your review, can't wait. As an (enthusiastic) novice with wide, bony hobbit feet it's hard to find a good fit and there are literally no brick and mortar stores within 2500km of here that keep skates in stock to even try them, so appreciate the sizing tips. I'm expecting great things going from my clumsy Oxelos MF500s (I know, I know, but they're actually ok) to these puppies

    I recently (within the past week) had a problem with my F7 Liners and I was able to get F110H Liners to replace them from the people at Turbulence Inlines. The liners look nearly identical; the shape seems to be slightly different, but they fit and feel good so far.

    As an owner of 2 pairs of Trix, swap the laces with 6mm waxed derby laces. Best $10 upgrade you can do. Easier on/off and even tightening.

    Nice that you love these skates so much. I had the Seba KSJ (silver 2017 model) and even though these were the most supportive of the triangle cuff skates, I found them very lacking in latteral support. They were very comfy and I loved the forward flex, but to get even a bit of latteral support I had to pull the laces so tight (with a hook) that it cut off my blood and created pressure points. So even with the laces so tight, they didn't came near the latteral support that an FR1 skate offers.

    You're spot on about the rockerable frame letting the skates down. On mine you need to make a choice - have them loose enough that the wheels making clicking sounds on rough surfaces, or have them tight enough that the frame pinches the wheels and slows them down. Not an issue for the 2nd and 3rd wheels. Also, the axles sit REALLY tightly into the bearing - I often need a mallet to get the front and back wheels out and have to lube the axles. They're my one gripe with these otherwise wonderful skates.

    • @ZadakLeader
      @ZadakLeader Před 2 lety

      Yeah, they kinda cheaped out on the frame but also the wheels aren't the best quality either :/
      Wish they'd cost a bit more then have at least nicer quality wheels if not frame.

  • @stubear
    @stubear Před 4 lety +2

    I have the WFSC, which is the carbon version and it's probably the nicest skate I've ever owned. I moved the 45 ratchet to the lower position because I have a narrow foot, which made a big difference. The only real fit problem I have is with the lacing, which I've found very hard to get tight enough, but I'm hoping they will break in a bit, or I may change the stock laces. The 243mm frame is great. but admittedly too short for my size 47 foot, longer rockered frame options at the moment are limited but I'm looking forward to the Endless frames. I'm going to try mounting my R100 with an adapter too.

    • @stubear
      @stubear Před 4 lety +1

      Worth mentioning that the frame on the WFSC is the pre rockered SEBA deluxe frame, not the one with the rocker spacers.

    Based on your review, I think I'd like these. I have one question. Is the toe box an issue in inline skates the way it is in figure skates? Most figure skates squish my toes to oblivion and I have to intentionally get a wide toe box... think duck feet. Are these more amenable to a variety of toes?

    • @ericbernardi8116
      @ericbernardi8116 Před 7 měsíci

      I'd say it has a fairly normal toe box... Maybe still too narrow if you got super wide feet but it's wider than figure skates...

    I know this is an oldie but I found this video now as I just bought a pair of SEBA Trix2 (from Shop Task as well). I am wondering what you mean by choosing the non-carbon fiber version? Are there more than one version of these and if so what is it if not carbon fiber? Please remember I'm new so this may be a dumb question :) As far as I can see yours have the same boot as mine but different frames and wheels. I kept the frame they came with but upgraded the wheels. But I assume the carbon fiber comment was about the boot?

    • @CityBlades
      @CityBlades  Před 11 měsíci

      Don’t know if there is currently but there was a version where the boot was made of carbon fiber. These are plastic I think

    • @ericbernardi8116
      @ericbernardi8116 Před 7 měsíci

      Trix2 is fiberglass reinforced plastic and Trix is carbon (is about double the price and has a ratchet at the cuff)... Not sure but I think the liner is also different, most likely a bit thinner and harder foams on carbon Trix for high level slalom skaters who want max response. I am pretty sure though the Trix2 is the more comfy but really can't complain about response and feedback from this boot 😊

  • @brocmt

    Have you tried the Reign V3 liners? I use them in my Aeons, and I love them. They're like 80% of quality of an Intuition liner at less than half the price.
    And yeah, I go the FR1 Deluxe about the same time you bought those Trix boots, and I'm totally happy with them. But now I'm curious about the Trix boot. I love the FR V3 frame that comes with the FR1D, it's pre-rockered, super stiff...

      @@CityBlades Yeah, Lino says they're like his favorite liner for free skating next to Intuition liners, if you want to check out his review of them. They're really nice, super supportive. My ankles are wrecked, so something that gives me that dorsi-flection support is something I need. And the V-cut calf line should give you a good toe point in your FR1s.

      I'm wondering the same. My feet are 257-258/102-100. I tried a pair of used (but not very much) Higlights 40 and length was good - toes didn't touch the front at at all. But I'm not so sure about the width. I tryed them for about 10 minutes, and my impression was that they are little tight in the widest part of the foot - i felt that the bottom of the skate was rising near the sides and this did not feel perfectly comfortable. But I don't know if I ride them longer, maybe I will get used to it, or they will break in more. And trix 2 and highlights are in the same sizing table, so maybe they use the same last to make them.
