  • Arsenal are looking down on the rest once again. But for how long?
Liverpool can join them on 74 points if they beat Fulham tomorrow but Arsenal have the chance to extend the lead again when they face Chelsea on Tuesday.
Liverpool play Everton on Wednesday before Manchester City - fresh from their FA Cup semi-final win today - return to league action on Thursday at Brighton.

Manchester City are lamenting "excessive fixtures" and "insufficient rest time," yet they will go on an extensive preseason tour in the USA and have committed to participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (primarily for its minimum 50 million payout)🚨

He isn't asking for a months rest. He is just asking the league to properly manage matches like other league do. Laliga gave Barca, Real and Atletico a week off for their CL games.
Ultimately it hurt the PL because now there is less spot for Europe.

Every time he got the ball he just passed it back and barely did anything the whole game. You could tel City players were really dragging. Arsenal played Villa on Sunday, Bayern on Wednesday, Wolves on yesterday and Chelsea on Tuesday. Essentially if you’re a coach of this team, you’re asking the players to play 4 matches in nine days !!! If you don't believe you have a chance, then you've already lost it. So many people, traumatized from what City have been doing, just throwing in the towel with 5/6 games left to go... NO. Arsenal didn't fall off like last season. Last year we kept 2 clean sheets in the last 11 games of the Premier League season. This year we just broke the record for the most consecutive away clean sheets (6). What's happened is actual fatigue, Ødegaard and Saka who although they had good games looked absolutely exhausted. It's just about getting through this tough period of playing every 3-4 days. We take 6 points from Chelsea and Spurs then it's massive.
In 2024 Arsenal are the most in form team in England even after the loss against Villa. The only reason City are top was because they had a game in hand over us because of the club world cup. Which they won. Liverpool's downfall had been coming for a while but Arsenal's came out of nothing

Honestly, simple solution, disband the Carabao Cup & spread out the FA Cup games throughout the season: that raises the stakes of the FA Cup as the only domestic trophy available (making it more exciting), more feasible to compete for, eases the schedule for Premier League teams & in general gets rid of an obsolete trophy that isn’t even respected compared to the rest on top of it having no uniqueness about it when compared to the Fa Cup (it’s basically the same tournament just with less pedigree)
An I know people will have their qualms about this like:
“What about the lower teams, this is big for them, having chances to compete against the higher teams” - they’ll have chances (in the FA Cup) or “It brings in more money” - inconsequential in the grand scheme of things
    What other option is there???

The current level 7 would be now level 9 etc. Clubs would move up. No FFP. The TV Money for the EPL higher than it is now for each club, the English Premier League two would have slightly less TV money for each club. The best two side in the current EFL Championship would move up to the English Premier League. The other 22 clubs would move up to the new English Premier League Two.
