I found this video very moving. My great uncle Max enlisted and served with the 1st Division from 1915 to 9 August 1918. Wounded twice, sent back to England twice, he was on the line 3 times. He took part in the Battle of Amiens on 8 August. He was killed the next day taking the Village of Vrely where he lay in peace now. Someone filmed the cemetary there and videoed each grave marker. I was amazed to actually see his headstone. He probably lived as long as he did because General Curry developed his own tactics. Thank you for posting these videos. I am most interested in the history of the Canadian Corps and the 1st Division. Well Done 👍🍁

Thank God for the Canadians, for they set great examples of humanity and show the blindness of other men yet, they give a hand and show the unseeing the way. Both in war, and even more profound and powerful in peace. Thank God for the Canadians.

As a Canadian, thank you. I don't think the world appreciates us enough, if I do say so myself.

I have always admired Arther Currie. The difference between Currie and the British Generals….to the British, the soldiers were just The Men,… To Currie, they were his boys! He didn’t want to waste a single life more than necessary to victory.

Even though I am not a Canadian I am so glad that we are on the same side. My grandmother was from Calgary, Alberta so in a way I guess I can claim some part. I thoroughly enjoy these glimpses of history of the Great War.

I am astounded that the Canadian Historical Society or the Government has not done something to restore this hero's home to educate the youth of Canada.
