  • Singapore is a multi-religious and multi cultural country. Many different ethnic festivals are celebrated here. The Nine Emperor Gods Festival is celebrated by Chinese temples in Singapore. Celebration starts from the eve of the 9th lunar month till the 9th day. This video shows the Invitation Ceremony as celebrated by Leong Nam Temple in Singapore. The nine Gods are invited to come from the sea and travel to the temple on 9 sedan chairs carried by devotees. There will be a Send-off Ceremony at the beach on the 9th day.

Thank you Chen, for this interesting look at the Invitation Ceremony of this year's Nine Emperor Gods Festival at East Coast. Please stay safe during such Festival events and many thanks for your upload! 🇸🇬👍

Jeremy, last year's ceremony was cancelled, so I thought this year's ceremony would be a low-key event, but I was wrong. The crowd at the beach was spread out, but the crowd at the temple was packed. A senior Minister Of State was the VIP at the temple, so the crowding should be acceptable. Just hope that there will be no Covid spreading at this event. The 'Send-Off' ceremony would be on 13th Oct. I may just go to the beach to avoid the crowd at the temple.

You might want to google "Nine Emperor Gods Festival Wiki". You should be able to get information on this fascinating festival. I was also not aware of this festival till a few years ago.

So they usually celebrate this on seaside or beach?. Very solemn and nice to watch😍👌❤ I think the hero colour of this festival are white and golden yellow. Great sharing!!

They 'Invite' and also 'Send-off' the deities from the beaches or river banks. I am surprised that this Festival is very much alive and thriving in high-tech Singapore.
