Our Unexpected First Impressions Of Singapore

- Small but mighty is probably the best way to describe the country of Singapore. This is our first time in Singapore and our goal for our first two days is to see as much as possible and get a first impression of the country.
We don't do this often but to get a general view we decided to get on the Big Bus Hop On Hop Off which is the easiest way to hit all the touristic spots and other points of interests.
We started with the botanic gardens which is a UNESCO World heritage Site. A very nice green space like you will see all over Singapore.
From there, we headed to Orchard Road, the best place to do all your shopping but this is not what we were after. Instead we visited the Dancing Crab restaurant to try Singapore's national dish known as Chili Crab. Definitely on the more expensive side but also very delicious!
After not being able to make it to the top of the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel, we made our way back to Clarke Quay for some food by the river before heading back to our hotel for the night.
For our entire stay in Singapore, we styed in a very nice and fairly affordable hotel called Citadines Rocher Hotel in Little India which you can book here: booking.tp.st/WbQHDlcY
For our second day, we were able to make it up to the observation deck of the Marina Bay Sands hotel which offers you one of the best view in the country.
From there, we went back closer to our hotel to explore Little India which ended up being our favorite spot in Singapore. From the food to the hustle and bustle, this is the place to be if you ask us.
And let's not forget the daily night and water show also by the Marina Bay Hotel. This drone show is about 15 minutes long and you can't miss it!

We made it to the Hawker Centres for some of the best street food! 🇸🇬WATCH NOW➡️ czcams.com/video/e7nt2wZHl-M/video.htmlsi=bEOLgJ3LbhC7x1oL
Interesting video. Glad you liked the chili crab and could tolerate the spiciness. A few points:
1. There isn’t a race called Singaporean. We are a country made up of Chinese, Malay, Indian, and more. So we are Chinese Singaporeans, Malay Singaporeans, Indian Singaporeans, etc. We do have a large number of non-citizen residents (40%) though, so Singaporean’s make up 60% of the population, not single digits as you mentioned.
2. It is legal to chew gum in Singapore, just not legal to sell. If you bring it in, you can chew here. Just dispose of it properly.
3. Chili crab is a popular dish which originated here but we have plenty of other “national” dishes like chicken rice. It’s much more affordable (US$2.50) and you might like it more than crab.
4. Don’t buy water from convenience stores which can get expensive. Get them from supermarkets or even bargain stores. Better yet, don’t buy, full stop. Tap water is potable here.
5. Quay is pronounced “key”. Because English.
6. Not sure if you caught the free light show at Gardens by the Bay but if you haven’t, it’s a must-do.
Hey, thanks for the info. Super interesting. :)
40%??? Im a singaporean myself but didn’t expect the statistic to be that high
@@connormcchicken5915 The citizen population is 3.61 million out of a total of 5.92 million which is just shy of 61%. Non-citizens, including PRs, make up over 39%. I put it at 40% for the same of round figures.
About the chewing gum, the ICA site says you can't import the prohibited item (referring to chewing gum) to sg
Singapore is really amazing. I notice the order and cleanliness are top notch
Yes, one of the cleanest place we have ever visited.
The drone show is I N S A N E 🤯 I think the word Insane can be used only when you visit Singapore in terms of expensive goods and in terms of the beauty of the country. Thank you Dave for taking us to Singapore 👌🏾
The world needs more drone shows! Haha
In Singapore No homeless people , No trash, No Grafity
Everything place clean & organize,..👏👍
Super clean indeed!
There is a small number of "homeless" people who are mostly out of sight from the touristy areas
Some of them do so out of personal choice. As an example, they have their own property but are unable to get along well with their family members. So they choose to stay out
Some others may have sold their property and used much of the proceeds to repay debts. Or the proceeds were swindled away by scammers. So they end up without a home
Nonetheless, social workers do try to reach out to the homeless and offer them temporary shelters and financial assistance while working out long term solutions with them
@@atlantis98765There is no support given at all.
There are, but we don't believe in leaving them on the walls, but cleaned them up. And the vandals get punished very quickly.
At hawker center u can get cheap and delicious local food. Our public transport is also veru cheap and efficient. No taxi needed.
Yes! We 100% learned that and ate there for the rest of the trip!
Singapore and malysia now on my bucket list
For sure! :)
Thank you for considering both Singapore and Malaysia 😊. Many Singaporeans love travelling to Malaysia for vacation too because it is good value for money and all we need is land transport which is so much cheaper than air tickets
So nice Singapore city and cuntry 👍👌👌👌
It really is!
10:13 Yeah that’s because you bought it in a 7-11 convenience store. If you buy them at the local supermarkets or random mom & pop stores, it’s only either 50cents to 80cents or just around $1.50 local currency. Singapore is perceived expensive because of the cost of owning cars and the real estate rent for expats. For local, we had subsidies and various other incentives. For food, local hawker stores and food courts are cheaper than restaurants. We have subsidised healthcare so on and so forth. Also Quay is pronounced as key.
We definitely ate most of our meals after day 1 from local hawkers. Very affordable and sooo good! 👍🏼🇸🇬
I watch many of these CZcamsrs travel to Singapore. Most of them rant on that Singapore is very expensive as they buy from convenience shops such as 7-11 which they did not know that there is an add on price premium to buy in convenience. No one talk about the prices in local supermarkets such as Fairprice, Sheng Siong, Prime, etc….. If they had known, they would not “rant” on that Singapore is exceptionally costly to live in…..
@@seanbaby7857 The local supermarkets such as Sheng Siong, Prime, etc are not widely available in the touristy areas. They are mostly located in the HDB heartlands (i.e. suburbs). Nevertheless, i agree that a price premium levied is fair for the convenience that comes along with 24/7 convenience stores such as 7-Eleven
Could also be the location of the 7-11, coz the 7-11 near my home sells bottled drinking water for S$ 1+.
looks beautiful!! The airport in singapore is insane !!!
You have no idea!!! We made a full video about it before leaving! Stay posted...
@@DaveMani i can’t wait to see it! looks like it’s on a whole other level! cheers!
Thank you for coming to Singapore. We hope you enjoyed your visit and hope you will come back again
I hope so too!
U guys should be dining at hawker centers...and u should buy your drinks at super markets which will be cheaper.
They have also dined at hawker centre. The local supermarkets such as Sheng Siong, Prime, etc are widely available in HDB heartlands (i.e. suburbs), not quite in the touristy areas. Nevertheless, it is to be expected a price premium needs to be paid for the 24/7 convenience that comes along with 7 Eleven
100% we did learned that and ate at those for the rest of the week. 😎👍🏼
100% we did learned that and ate at those for the rest of the week. 😎👍🏼
Welcome to Singapore! We hope to welcome you guys back again!
Thank you so much! We had a great time in Singapore. 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
You cannot miss the URA City Gallery the next time you come! It's FREE. See the brains of the city planners and you'll know why the city looks the way it looks.
This is well noted, we will for sure go next time. 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
Wow! Just wow
Yeah! Singapore is great. :p 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
I like both of your presentation, fast n straight to the point. Very good team work. Thanks for showing some of the places that even 80% of Singaporean hardly go. Just subscribed
So glad to read this! Welcome on board my friend. 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing and welcome to Singapore
Its always a pleasure :)
Another option instead of walking or taxis would be taking the buses or trains which are much more affordable here as well. You can also use your credit card or Apply pay to travel on the public transport.
We in fact took the MRT a lot which is amazing! 👍🏼
@@DaveMani you can literally go around the entire country in the MRT, something most tourists sadly failed to take advantage of, and got stuck within the tourist-hamster ring of marina bay - chinatown- little India .

Wow looks amazing❤❤❤

Singapore is amazing! Super clean and safe! Great food and tourist spots!
We loved it! :)
Wow I have finally caught up with all the videos binged all day…I feel good now.. I’ve never been to Singapore but it looks good needs to save more money before visiting 💕
Haha thank you so much! :p Next one coming up tomorrow! ❤️❤️❤️
Please give us a tour of Changi airport and the MRT also thanks.
100% this will be the last video of the series. 👍🏼
Singapore is a vibe definitely a country I would like to visit the music choice with the drone action at the end Wow! great vlog.
Much appreciated! :)
The drone show is a one off... it's part of Chinese New Year celebrations. If you want to see it again, you probably have to wait until next year during CNY. 😂
3:45 Oh my. The best part of the Botanic Gardens is the National Orchid Gardens. Its a UNESCO world heritage site and you guys sadly gave it a miss. Believe me, the $15 entrance fee is worth it.
10:13 Locals avoid buying from 7-11 as its very expensive. (A carton of 24 bottles online cost $9 only).
Well noted for next time! :)
Beautiful
It was a fun time :)
There is an option or alternative to hop-on hop-off and that is the double decker buses that transverse the city. Any trip end to end is around $2. Just go top deck and take the front seats.
Oh thats an amazing tip!
We stayed there for 4 days to watch Eras Tour, and needless to say, I want to live there now hahahaha. The foods on Hawker are cheap but delicious, the people are so friendly to us, the conveniency of public transport everything is perfect.
It is a great place to live for sure! 100%
As a singaporean we welcome you. Tho take note there’s a high cost for rental if you wish to stay
@@KAMENRAIDAWINK Thank you! I did notice that the cost of living is higher there. Understandable since the quality of life is also high. You have a very beautiful country.
Nice video! Glad you like Singapore so far. There are many affordable food options in hawker centres that are in Singapore such as the heartlands. The places you first ate at were in expensive areas of town.
You were at Clarke Quay (“Quay" is pronounced as “key”.)
No worries. Even the hawker food at Lau Pa Sat is reasonably priced despite the fact it is located at the heart of CBD, not to mention a few others such as Maxwell Road Hawker Centre which is a favourite among locals and tourists alike
We for sure ate a ton after that day 1 at hawker centres! So so good.
There are crazy rich Canadian in Singapore and also crazy affordable Singapore for the Canadian. Depends on where you go, stay and where you ate. By the way, 7-11 is not cheap in Singapore as compared to the supermarket or other shops.
I really appreciate your video coverage techniques...each and every thing you cover very nicely...and the dancing crab ..wow 😍... Very expensive big Crab😅.... thoroughly enjoyed you videos 🤩👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Enjoy your stay !
Thank you!
Beautiful vlog 🤩😇
Thank you 😊
Fantastic ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks 🤗
Welcome to Singapore! 🇸🇬
Thank you :)
Welcome to Sg, enjoy your stay here.
Thank you! Will do!
very clean
Very!
The drones wow amazing. Nice looking city. Fun fact naan means bread. So when you say naan bread your saying bread bread lol. Another good production guys 😂
The worst part is that we know that! Loll
Welcome to Singapore!!
Thank you so much!
Convenience stores are for convenience. Not affordability. Tap water in Singapore is drinkable from the tap, no boiling or filtering necessary, Refill your bottle from the tap (any tap). Try eating at hawker centres - Maxwell food centre, Lau Pa Sat, or Tekka Centre (since you are staying in Little India - which you found!), and explore Satay Street (Next to Lau Pa Sat, opens when the sun goes down).
U r wrong in many aspect. U should do research before u say and post on CZcams.
1) U can chew gum in public, but u cannot litter and sell gum in Singapore. Chew gum is not an offence.
2) u can smoke in public, u cannot smoke under shelter, parks and certain places. There is always a yellow box for smoking even in orchard road. Yes, u can smoke in public.
3) water, u r buying water in tourist places. In Singapore supermarker sell water range sgd$0.35 to $3. 7eleven is always expensive becoz its a convenient store. Local dont buy water from 7 eleven as they know where to buy from a) hawker b) food court c) supermarkets d) mini marts. U have to do the local ways.
4) singaporean dont eat chilli crab in fancy restaurant haha, go where the local go. 2 crab usually cost $50-$80
You are very right about that. We spent the rest of the week at hawker centres. 🇸🇬👍🏼
We love Singapore! We have been lucky enough to stay at Marina Bay Sands and the Ritz at Marina Bay, but my favorite place to stay is little India! So glad you chose to stay there. It’s brilliant. What I love about Singapore is how peacefully all the culture live together.
Thats amazing! I have a question for you. Would you say that the Marina Bay Sand is worth the price or not? 🤔
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but yes. To experience it once was very memorable. We had a gardens by the bay view and at nighttime, watching the light show from our room with room service and champagne was magical and romantic. We spent an entire afternoon at the pool and as the sun was setting, saw all the city lights come on from the infinity pool. We only stayed 2 nights, and then transferred to Little India! I’m glad we experienced it, but we wouldn’t spend our money there again. For us it was worth doing it once. But we made use of our time at the hotel. We love your videos and all the hard work you put into them 👏🏼
I think marina bay sands is a beautiful hotel. The integrated resort is going to build a 4th tower beside it.
It is one of the best in the world I think!
For some reason, Tracey reminds me of a young Sigourney Weaver. Beautiful. 👍🏼😊
I`m gonna Google that! :P
Hey glad I watched your video because I knew nothing about the drone show havnt even seen it advertised anywhere. I only knew about the light show both at the harbour & Gardens by the bay. There in 10 days so will check out that amazing spectacle you saw
You're gonna for sure have a great time in Singapore! :)
Nice drone video! I had imagined the crowd, warm and humidity so i didn't go.. 300 synchronized drones lighting up for the lunar new year for the first time, glad that u guys caught it!
The drone show was epic! We loved it. :)
Very impressive!
There are supermarket around Singapore, get your water and snacks there, it’s so much cheaper.
Eat at hawker stalls, they have the best local tastes and the prices are much cheaper too.
Just don’t forget to bring your own tissue papers or wet wipes.
Well noted! 😎👍🏼
Enjoy your stay
Thanks a lot my friend!
Singapore have had only 2 riots since independence (1965). One happened in 969 due to some racial disputes and the second one in 2013. The 2013 riot stated by drunk foreign workers in little India (you can google 2013 Singapore riot for details). It was because of that our Government then roll out a slew of measures to prevent a repeat of that horrible incident and one of the measures put in place was the ban of selling all types of liquor after 10:30pm.
Overall a very quiet and peaceful country. ❤️🇸🇬
U can just hop into the mrt from bayfront to any other station without getting wet. I akways go to heartland places with covered walkways eg toa payoh if its pouring.
Well that's a good tip!
Lky is like a person who only started playing SimCity for the first time but straightaway broke the speed record for achieving budget surplus and almost top specs across most indicators
Hahahaha I love the comparison! :p
There are over 100 hawker centers, and some are open 24 hours; they are very inexpensive, and you can easily buy a meal for S$5!!! Singapore food is much cheaper than most if not any developed country.
100% After that one day we ate almost all out food at Hawkers Centre which was amazing,
Very enjoyable video! new subscriber! As a singaporean, i have not even been to several of the places you guys went..thanks for showing them...btw, Clark Quay, the Quay is pronounced as Kee...its how we say it..just fyi :)
Yeah. As Singaporeans, we should be appreciative of the efforts put into creating this vlog which is a good advertisement for Singapore tourism. Unfortunately, some netizens are too defensive when tourists, especially those from China, commented that Singapore is too expensive. It is a fact that Singapore is one of most developed countries in the world and the only one in Southeast Asia just by looking at the super high GDP Per Capita (Purchasing Power Parity). And so naturally along with it comes higher prices compared to other South East Asian countries
@@hellobunny56789 That is the downside of Singapore and maybe relaxing a bit of the strictures since some bit of chaos is what gives a city its vibe. As much as its modern, I feel like Bangkok gives a good balance, modernity and affordability.
@@alexchui3511Haha. To each his own. We understand that different personalities have different priorities and preferences 😊
Chaos can have two sides just as the famous saying goes: One man's meat is another man's poison. What is meat to some people is poison to others 😅
Welcome onboard and thanks for the correction on our pronunciation. This is well noted.
I can't believe you're here in MY CITY!!! I so hope I run into you guys 😭😭😭
We had a great time but we're back in Kenya for now. 4 more videos about Singapore coming up tho. 😎🇸🇬
Orchid Garden is a must to visit! You missed a great attraction!
Chillie crab is good but white pepper crabs is also one of Singaporean favourite.
Thanks for the tips! :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cheers
tbf just like any country the prices of water and beer in tourist hotspots/ city center is always much more expensive. You can find cheap bottled water and alcohol in Singapore too, just go to more local/ neighbourhood places
You are 100% right.
@@DaveMani hope u had fun in SG!
Could the car tower be a parking silo? You drive in and it takes your car up by a lift.
Super fun and beautiful video! 😃
Nope. That’s a car showroom. As Singapore has limited space, the only way to have a showroom is to build upwards. We actually have two such showrooms in Singapore.
@@raspberry_scareglow very cool. 😎
I don't think so... Also what a coincidence that would be to only have Ferraris in it loll
@@DaveMani I’m a local. That’s one of two vertical car showrooms by local luxury and classic car dealer, Auto Bahn. They have another building at Jalan Bukit Merah. They not only stock Ferrari, but they do have other luxury car brand as well
We used to be able to drink alcohol in public after 10:30, but after an incident a number of years back when someone got drunk in public, got run over by a bus and somehow started a riot, the government relooked at this policy. The police was also complaining that people getting drunk and being nuisance in residential area were becoming an unnecessary heavy workload.
There are always a few that ruins it for everyone...
If u lucky, u able see wild otters ranning around at Botanic Garden. U can take mrt stop at every station 🚉 to mall for food n shopping 😅👗🥼👡👢🍜🌮🥙🥧🍹🍻🍨
We didn't see them but that would have been really cool!!!
The bottle of water in the supermart costs only around SGD 0.50
Yeah, we learned haha.
Welcome to Singapore
Thank you Sally :)
The bottle of water in 7 Eleven is so much more expensive than usual. You should have went to a supermarket or elsewhere to get water instead. $3 for water is wayyy too expensive here in Singapore.
Yes we did learn haha. That was a day one mistake :p
The drone show was specifically arranged for Chinese New Year period, will not be able to see it after that. 😅
Drinks will be cheaper in supermarkets.
To clarify, you can actually chew gum in SG but not import & sell.
Clarke Quay is pronounced as Clarke 'Key'.
Alcohol is more expensive in restaurants.
If you go to the hawkers centres, local coffeeshops, supermarkets, alcohol is way cheaper.
It is not that expensive in SG, you just need to know where to buy the cheaper options.
There is also a light & music show at Gardens by the Bay which is free.
For nature lovers, we do have gardens, nature parks & offshore islands for visitors to explore, where you can see locals as well.
There was indeed a special drone show for the event but there is also a normal show the test of the time. Twice a night, every night. 👍🏼
@DaveMani yes the normal show is just lights & music water show, no drones... I wanted to clarify that in case visitors who came but do not see drones 😅
Get ur water and drinks from the supermarkets. It's way cheaper than 7-eleven. Hawker centers are great places to try local food and they are kind on ur wallet as well... as compared to restaurants.
We did learn that! That was just our first day ish in the country. We did all our meals at hawkers centres after that.
Clark Quay is actually pronouce as Clarke Key. Can of Tiger beer from the local store costs around SGD3+
Well noted!
Go to where the locals are to get cheap food. Food cost more at tourist places like Marina Bay Sands area. Our public transports are cheap when compared to other big cities . Very convenient too.
We actually ate most of our meals after that day at Hawker Centres which was amazing!!!
Expensive if you eat at restaurant try having your lunch n dinner elsewhere like Lau pa sat, hawker center Chinatown more cheaper. Breakfast can try Singapore style at Ya kun kaya famous and affordable.
Very true. We spent the rest of our trip at Hawker Centres. 👍🏼

Hey thank you so so much for all of that.
As a Singaporean, i have to highlight most of the places you have recommended are suburban residential areas which are not touristy destinations. Nevertheless, amongst your recommendations, there are indeed a few away from the touristy south that may be appealing to some tourists: (1) East Coast Beach, (2) Holland Village (lots of pubs and eateries), (3) Jurong Lake Gardens (a small part is still under redevelopment) and (4) the Southern Islands. With regards to Changi Beach and Pasir Ris Beach, not as appealing as East Coast Beach. Moreover, they are too far from most of the hotels where tourists tend to stay
You both missed morning breakfast call Roti Prata....from indian stall at some coffeeshops
We actually did eat those but in India! :) delicious
it is true that Singapore maintain the greenery of nature in this island so that many animals or should i say species can come here during the season time
I do not know but the entire country is so so green! ❤️🇸🇬
@@DaveMani The north side is mostly industrial area and some school, the middle is a lake and a place to enjoy for cyclist and park likes Singapore zoo also for Barracks where soldier stay, the east is full of apartments and the South East is where considered of small resort likes chalet and all sort of fun activities, coming to the South you will see Changi Airport and some tourist forgot about the long beach seaside called East Coast Park where you get to enjoy playing with your family on the beach. The South is where Tourist spend their time here like Marina Bay- Clark Quay- Chinatown and so on, the South West is mostly contained housing estate and a harbor for boat also for shipping container if you going to the west side you will meet Sentosa island and keep going forward you will see some college and some building too and more island, North West also have some industrial area but the most relaxing place for tourist to go is the Singapore Wetland Reserve where you get to see some otters and birds plus crocodile. That it for the info here in Singapore.
@@DaveMani Singapore is an island city-state located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by the Johor Strait to the north, separating it from Malaysia, and the Singapore Strait to the south, separating it from Indonesia. The eastern and western sides of Singapore are primarily defined by its coastline, with various harbors, marinas, and industrial areas along both sides. Additionally, Singapore has numerous parks, residential areas, and landmarks scattered throughout its geography. You can visit them during the best time for weather forecast.

i really enjoy you’re vlog you are a cute couple.Singapore is one of the best country in asia but i hope you two can go to the philippines in the future 😊
The Philippines is for sure a destination we want to visit! :)
OMG!!!! Love the Indian food!!!! Make me drool and I'm hungry now.... 🤣

You can drink alcohol anytime, you can’t purchase alcohol after 10.30pm in normal shop.
Fair enough!
Hi I love the tops she wears! Could you share where you bought them from? Thanks
They are from Winners in Canada.
U need to go to the heartlands of Sg to have better pricing for food and drinks. Where you guys went is good but touristy...Heartland malls are so much more affordable ❤
To be honest we spent a lot of time in hawker centres after that. 👍🏼
Try visit JAKARTA , BALI, JOGJAKARTA, Mt BROMO, BALI, LOMBOK, ( INDONESIA ),…
All on the list! :)
Hi Guys, would like to share that the Chinese, Malays, Indians, Eurasians are the four main races of Singaporeans. Its not true that is only single digit of overall people are Singaporeans. We are at roughly 61% of the overall people staying in Singapore.
We have different races in this city state due to our history. We are all Singaporeans. =D.
Hope u had enjoyed ur stay!
Hey thank you so much for the correction. I simply read that about 7% of the population is actually from the land itself. Residents who have been there for several generation.
Sorry if I did not communicate that properly or if it is wrong.
Welcome 🇸🇬
Thank you!
You guys need to do a second trip and focus on more local things than tourist traps. It would be nice to see the contrast!
Eat at a hawker centre, not Orchard; avoid MBS; 7eleven is expensive but you can get cheap water at local stores; SG is not that strict, they just signpost the maximum penalties. You would need to be a repeat offender or malicious offender to get hit with the max penalty.
You are in a country where the locals eat out sometimes 3 times a day, every day. Even 7eleven sushi is considered expensive, eat like a local and your 100usd can last a week. The car showcase is a car dealership!
Citadines at wilkie road has proper size apartments (but no pool)
That was just video 1 out of 4. Much more coming up including the Hawker Centres, and tip how to save some money!
The Englishman call "Quay" as "Key", so Clarke Key it is, a place for loading/unloading of goods. At time of writing this (3 Mar 24) Taylor Swift is in town for 6 shows till 8 Mar.
We'll work on that pronunciation :p
I was disappointed with my crab too. It was $150 in Clarke Quay. Orchard towers was fun for single at night. I didn't go to Ipanema..😊
Hi, try online search for Cheapest Chili Crab in Singapore. Some of the recommendations are priced from $45 to $80 only
Fair enough for the crab but still glad we tried! :)
Are you guys traveling full time now? If so, pretty cool! How do you film in places without having random people in the shots? ie on the tour bus, maybe the people behind you didn't want to be on camera? or the woman across from you on the plane? Safe travels ahead!
We are not full time yet... Looking at doing so in July. And for the filming, i just try to be respectful of others so sometimes I just wait for people to move.

Hi there. Weren't these restrictions already lifted sometime in the second half of 2022? i remember they were lifted concurrently with the lifting of some of the covid-era restrictions in 2022. i don't consume alcoholic beverages and so whether these restrictions remain or have been lifted don't really bother me 😊
We aren't just a city, we are a country with our own armed forces and judiciary, legislative assembly, and industry.
chilli crab is meant to be had with the bread and dipped with the sauce to get that balance right.
and chili crab has been made the so-called national dish but trust me, not many regard that as our national dish .
head over to where locals eat, in the heartlands ,outside of the touristy places and main city area...u get much more authentic singaporean foods and experience, MUCH CHEAPER too!!

Singapore is 100% a country. But also a sovereign city which was my point.
Singapore is relatively developed. It looks like a diverse place, culturally. I see people on the streets dressed in local clothes.
Thank you, sir and ma'am.
It is VERY developed. Almost too developed for us :p

When you said national dish, chilli crab didn't crack my top 3 😂
Oh really! :p What would be it then? :)
you can buy 40 cents bottled water from big supermarket, don't buy from Cheers or 7-11
This is well noted! Haha ✅
Singapore has risen to become a modern country but they could relax a bit with strictures, humans are not mechanical in nature. My only qualm is how expensive it is, it feels like Monaco and other enclaves like Macau. What happens to those that are not well off because not everyone is rich and inclined to designer stuff?
Yeah, the cost of living is comparable to Switzerland!
Multi culture Laaa ok😮😮😮😮😮😮😅
Very multicultural indeed.
try other local cuisines than indian dishes. Go to hawker centres and try hainanese chicken rice, rojak, carrot cakes, Hokkien Prawn Mee, Satay, Laksa
For sure! We actually did a full video about the food in Singapore! Coming up next week. 👍🏼
