Very beautiful night market. Thanks for showing.😊
Yea, I remembered the story behind this festival. My mother used to tell us when she is making the bak chang. Two to three days prior to the actual day, my mother will be busy buying the leaves and ingredients. She will wrap the bak changs, cook them and hang them on the bamboo sticks to let the water drip like hanging out the laundry in the kitchen. So the kitchen is a no go zone and the house will be filled with the smell the bak chang leaves. Still clearly remember the fragrance even after all these years especially since my Chinese birthday is one day after the Dumpling Festival so double the joy (bak chang and red egg) 😁
very nice video scene
Wow I love this video and now I'm your new subscriber please stay connected and have a great day ❤️
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
The neon lights of Chinatown are dazzling, and colorful tuk-tuks speed by. Adult and street musicians create an impromptu symphony, while performers, against the canvas of the city, create an explosion of creativity. Each flame at the food stalls tells the story of culinary artistry. The video footage moves through the chaos, capturing the rhythm of the street. The bustling market, cheerful vendors, and lively customers all come together in a vivid portrayal of Bangkok’s night, a living testament to the city’s undying spirit!☝️✨ Yosh and Iku
Chinatown Bangkok is always busy at night from Tuesday to Sunday as Monday is compulsory rest day as required by the authorities for street cleaning. There's plenty of street food and restaurant-standard food by the street. There's Michelin starred hawker stalls too but I didn't locate them. Buskers keep the place lively as music drift through the air above the traffic and chatterings. Chinatown Bangkok is very bustling and dazzling! Visited by tourists and locals. I will be sharing a video on a food street in Bangkok that is bustling and almost solely visited by locals. This video will be shared in a couple of weeks while I clear my backlog of overseas videos.
Wonderful
Thank you for your nice comment!
Love this! Love this! Love this! So nice to go on a trip with you. So pleasant and calming.
Thank you very much AW!
Great Video, Love this airport and country
Me too. Love this beautiful country too. Also glad that you like this video.
I just had some rice dumpling yesterday. It’s very delicious but very filling 👍🏼😆
Are rice dumplings easily available in Canada? Do you have different flavours like those in this video?
@@SingaporeCityWalks yes the Asian supermarket sells it. It’s most similar to those ones you showed 😁💜 which is a good thing. Canada is getting more multicultural for sure 👍🏼
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your compliment 😊
Beautiful festival bazaar ❤❤
Thank you my friend 😀
Many thanks for this amazing video my friend....!!!!!
Thank you for supporting my channel, my friend from India ❤
The always vibrant Waterloo Street seems to be even more lively with the Dumpling Festival Bazaar. In preparation for the Dragon Boat Race, many dumplings are lined up as a tribute to tradition. The video camera captures the shopkeepers diligently explaining their products, and you can feel the essence of your video style in their communication!☝️✨ Yosh and Iku
Thank you Yosh and Iku for your comment. There are so many different flavours of rice dumplings. There's even a difference in the wrappings which I did not know till now. I first asked the young lady to introduce her vegetarian dumplings. On seeing her enthusiasm, I decided to ask the older vendors to introduce theirs. To my surprise, they were so friendly and obliging. So instead of simply showing dumplings all wrapped up and looking similar (except for the coloured strings), this video is able to show the different types of dumplings through the explanation by the vendors. 😀
Very odd - throwing dumplings in a river to supposedly scare away fish from a dead body (which is not found), somehow turns into a festival of eating dumplings at a specific time. It seemed to be mainly older people buying the dumplings, so maybe this is not a tradition that appeals greatly to younger people. Will you be showing the dragon boat racing?
Qu Yuan was a renowned poet and his suicide was recorded in China's history. So I think the throwing of dumplings to feed the fishes may have some truth in it. This practice of eating rice dumplings and dragon boat racing has survived centuries and is still practiced today. Dragon boat racing has become International events with Western countries taking part. You are right that older folks are the ones buying the dumplings. I hope this tradition will live on. My dragon boat racing video last year was well received. However, this year, I will be travelling in Sichuan and will miss the races in Singapore.
looks like there are a plethora of flavours of bak chang sold at Waterloo Street including the lotus paste, black pepper chicken and Nyonya pulut hitam changs. it's interesting to feature a rice dumpling wrapped in a fragrant pandan leaf that gives out a pleasant aroma upon boiling.
The selection of Bak Changs at Waterloo Street suits all budgets. From the affordable ones to the more pricey ones. Most of the vendors were happy to be recorded as they understand that this will in some way raise their profile. I have yet to try the bak changs wrapped in pandan leaves and the sweet-salty ones. There are so many types there.
Mouth watering. I just completed a 3-month walk in Taiwan. It’s turning Japanese. All newer foodcourts are Japanese. For those Chinese who like to travel Japan, may think Taiwan, much much cheaper. Singapore is trying to maintain its Chineseness. Dragon boat festival is very Chinese, a patriotic poet as shown in the walk video. Nyonya dumpling not my favorite but the Bakchang is very good. Chinese in that region make good dumplings.
Wow, 3 months in Taiwan. Where were you during the earthquake? I went there, a week after the earthquake. Saw many Japanese stores there. The Qing Dynasty ceded Taiwan (Formosa) to Japan from 1895 to 1945. So it's not surprising to see many Japanese establishment there.
@@SingaporeCityWalks We were in Taoyuan during earthquake, quite a shock, buildings damaged in Hualien. Somewhat same as the SF I experienced. About the ‘Japanese things’ even many Taiwanese smart guys don’t understand. I covered temples, traditional markets, street food, underground mall for my wife to shop her dresses. And, the temple festivals! I have been to Taiwan in 1978, saw ‘Republic of China’ in glorious days and now vanishing. Walk video is a great life experience. By walking we get to know the places much much better. Walk the talk. Videos refresh memory as we exercise through the streets. With latest 3axis camera, video while walking is so easy. Past 2 years I covered Msia/Spore, thorough. This year Taiwan, next year mainland including Hong Kong.
@@marktan3668 Just visited your channel. You have made many walking tour videos. It's good to see the daily lives of people on the streets. I'll go through some of them when I am free. Going to Sichuan for 2 weeks this coming monday.

Incredible installations so beautiful really great to see Singapore at night beautiful capture 👍❤️👍❤️
This is a really creative and wonderful night festival. The light installations are so beautiful. Glad you've enjoyed it ❤️
A glittering festival where lights dance in the night in the heart of Singapore, art installations made from eco-friendly dreams sparkle, and people blend in and become part of the atmosphere. The entertaining BOB the nice world tells a story,Iwgumi Air Scape features delicate tones that different from the material to and BottleBlooms brings beauty to life from discarded items.🌟🪅 A gallery of innovation and community, where creativity and sustainability come together as one, this is a video production of the Festival of Light and Life.💫 Yosh and Iku
This is a light festival that I look forward to every year. The light installations are very creative and eco friendly. You have described it very well as 'a gallery of innovation and community..." Iwagumi (Japanese rock formation) is Japanese art of aquascape where small rocks are are placed in tanks to form underwater landscaping. In iLight Singapore, they recreated this on land, a few thousand times larger. Walking through this installation gives a sense of awe and mystic. A wonderful creation.
Some very interesting items - I particularly liked the Iwagumi display. Thank you!
I like many of the items. These 2 stand out for me. Iwagu - for the uniqueness - giant boulders in the heart of the city. And Kickit Team Tennis - for bringing strangers together to play a spontaneous game of 'tennis'. People pass by, play a game, and move on their way. This is something very lacking in our stressful society.
The fun events in Singapore are endless, I am sure you are so busying filming all these great events all the time!
So much things are happening here and I am very happy filming all these. My overseas videos have to wait longer to be edited and shared. Travelling to Sichuan next week. Going hiking at Mount Siguniang (Four Girls Mountain 四姑娘山).
Thank you for sharing this fun light show, so many creative artworks, very dreamy and cool! Love these giant light rocks! the lit up swing looks amusing too.
The giant boulders set against the city scape was very creative. Kickit Team Tennis is my favourite. People passing by just walk in, challenge one another, then walk away. For other installations, people just stand and look.
Amazing views and very nice upload ❤ Great video 🤞🍀
Thank you for you nice comment, my friend from Cambodia. I had been to Kulen Mountain and Lingam River. Thanks for sharing that.

Thk goodness, I wasn't there when Desmond Lee was walking at that spot. Otherwise, it wld had spoilt my day.! Is there a need for his securities to tell others to stay away & to keep the distance from him...???!!!🤔🤨 If hes' so VIP, then just rather reserve the whole arena empty just for him alone to walk, without anyone else. Simple right...???!!!☝️🤔
I felt the same and decided to keep the footage intact. However, I think the problem is with his minders, not him. He is good in my opinion.

The Marina Bay Front event space is lined with colorful food stalls, each with their own delicious aroma. There are plenty of areas for adults, children and pets to play, video cameras capture laughter and joy, and the rhythm of a music festival sways in the air. The popular of the Apple Man Carnival and the display related goods in the Indonesia Special Zone, create a concentrated night of entertainment with a blend of culture and commerce. It’s an engaging video that naturally draws you in.☝️✨ Yosh and Iku
Yosh & Iku, thank you for the beautiful description of the video. May I know what you mean by Apple Man Carnival? Is this a typo?
@@SingaporeCityWalks Uncle Ringo’s Carnival is known for holding carnivals for children. “Ringo”means apple in Japanese, and it reminded us of a Japanese child calling Apple Man in Singapore. Very modern airport 💜👍🏼 it’s fun to watch the robot and amazing displays
Changi Airport is really beautiful and functional. Glad that I live here and get to enjoy the facilities whenever I travel. Toni the robot bartender was very hardworking, serving free cocktails without getting any salary.
This Airport was built over the ancient cemetery.
Oh I see. Thanks for the info and for watching.

Don't understand what you mean. Thanks for watching.
@@SingaporeCityWalks I meant; in your video, Chongqing looks better than Singapoo (Singapore)
Changi terminal 2 is impressive my friend the displays are so beautiful, my favourite airport for sure👌👌😍😍
Changi Terminal 2 is very well upgraded for travellers' needs and enjoyment. The snooze lounges are very nice touches. Just make sure that alarm is set and travellers don't miss their connecting flights! Changi is my favourite airport too.
this time you visited a few more attractions inside Changi Airport Terminal 2 including Lotte's bartending robot compared with last November when you needed to rush back to Terminal 3 for your Chongqing flight. the ceiling display in the dreamscape garden makes us feel like we are closer to nature with all the natural sounds. the sunflowers at the sunflower garden bloom flourishingly despite the rain making a perfect ending for this video trip.
I had filmed all that major attractions that I wanted to film at T2 transit. That's until I edit and realised that I left out one feature - Ella the Robot Barista. I'll leave it here and let other CZcamsrs and content creators to feature her. The Sunflower Garden is a nice open air touch to T2. The heavens blessed me in those few minutes, while I filmed the pretty garden. I'll be travelling again in a week, hiking in remote Sichuan with my better half.
Changi Airport seems to be evolving within the infinite space. Video cameras show robot bartenders busily serving drinks and Dreamscape projecting images of the sea and sky. Now, one of its symbols, a digital waterfall, cascades down, with pixels blending into a stream of light, creating an imaginative scene that spans the entire video footage. In the rain-soaked sunflower garden, golden flowers sway to the rhythm of travelers passing by. As we say goodbye to Changi Airport, dreams take off on wings of expectation.✨✈️ Yosh and Iku
Changi Airport is constantly evolving and improving. Changi aims to be Number One again next year for the 13th time. Yosh and Iku, your words are so poetic, they lift my spirit and imagination. Hope my future videos can take off on wings of expectation too ☺️
Wonderful sharing my friend..!!!!
Thank you my friend.
What an amazing place to wait between flights. I'm sure the time goes quickly in such surroundings.
I love the idea of snooze lounges. Travellers don't need to sleep on the floor while waiting for connecting flights. Can sit at Gourmet Garden to spot airlines if there's nothing to do. Yes, times passes quickly in such surroundings.
Absolutely awesome. So fun to travel with you! I really enjoyed this! Thank you!
