Power Pole Work Part 1

- They have been replacing old power poles in my Neighborhood. They did this one right in front of my house. I missed the guys setting up the pole, maybe I'll catch that operation latter. In this video they mount the new cross tree and winch the lines, one at a time from the old pole to the new pole. The line took a turn at this pole so they had to use two winches to keep the wire in place. The video is a little long, but I think I got all the work.

Honey, they get payed DEARLY for their job. They need no appreciation. The ones who want the appreciation are the ones who feel they're underpayed. I wished you had a clue what I did in my life and got ZERO pay for it, and you'd KNOW what unappreciation is. Their pay settles the score. These guys don't go without. They can afford a house, new car, food, and leisure shit they want. Fuck the appreciation. Appreciate the waitress who brings you your food for 60 bucks a night. Appreciate the cashier at the gas station who gets shit on for 7.50 an hour. These guys are fine, they get ALOT of money.
Appreciate the soldier who lost his arm while getting payed 500 dollars a week, and now he gets a max 1200 a month on disability. Appreciate that. These fucking guys make (some of them) a hundred grand or more a year.

The thing to realise is those lines around them are still active and powered while they are working! that why all the rubber suits and arms sleeves as well as the rubber line covers. 12,000 volts or so....
these ppl are brave to be doing this job, i wouldn't do it bc im afraid of heights n getting zapped, lol!!
Its years of training and experince. They also have a good working relationship and know each others mvoes well from having done this hundreds of times a year.

Don’t you guys put split bolts below your eye bolts to keep your poles from splitting because of the angle and the anchor
Why let the groundman be on underneath while installing crossarms and other materials. Im just saying, please dont take it no other way, stay safe 🙏🏽
