You not alone. I examine everything. Firstly to see if there is any added sugar and you have to be clever here as it is hidden in everything and disguised in numerous names. Then palm oil will not touch anything with this. Thirdly making sure no GMO which can be hard .
      Glad I am not alone.

@@Peachypooh377 hey i would recommend Dr Axe course online, its costs but was worth it if you are serious about your health. The vast info he provided was a real eye opener! I made notes/printouts and after making meal plan followed it through and then i did a liver detox. After the liver detox d game totally changed! My skin was so clear more than had been in over 10yrs!! And energy levels through the roof. However you gotta keep at it and with lockdown its been difficult and ive gone into a bad habit with my eating.
For my thyroid i refuse to take levothyroxine any more (my personal choice). I was taking iodine drops every day for a while but now ive ordered these thyroid support tablets and wil c how i go with them, also taking mineral drops in water every day. I get bad cramps and have foujd magnesium oil spray really helps with this. Every day is different sometimes no energy othertimes i have energy but food does affect me so too much sugar and carbs and il get ill.
Also learnt selium is important for your thyroid. But as i said every day is kinda different and honestly sometimes i get depressed because my personal situation and because i think il never get better.
What are you taking for your underactive thyroid?

I have Hashies and been on my journey to healing my gut for almost 2 years.
I'm the healthiest I've ever been and finally am dropping the weight I've never been able to, even with my 2nd child! I'm allergic to gluten, intolerant to dairy. I'll have a mouthful of milk when I feel I crave it and good good probiotic rich yoghurt like you said. No cheese! Cheese kills me!!
No oil either. Even coconut oil. It hurts me and I can't digest it.
Butter is what I can break down I've found. Only butter.
I'm actually allergic to refined sugar. When I eat it, I instantly can't function and it's like 3am instantly for me with a dairy hangover and the worst hormone swings ever!
What I have been doing that is working %75 for me is having a crockpot of an assortment of veges, lots of potatoes and white rice, and chunks of meat, usually 2 different types... more than almost 3 avacados a day and applecider vinegar with the mother root.. every meal.
..even with those my gut is even more sensitive if a preservative or bad sugar get in somehow, whicb I view it as the scan on a wound.
My gut lining is almost there and I noticed I'm not having fermented veges at all, apple cider and good yoghurt enough.
    I hope this helps someone.
I think it truly is a unique thing.

Thank you for this informative video. From what I understand zinc is essential in maintaining gut health, was zinc also considered when making this list? Zinc appears to be one of those nutrients less common in the diets of our plant-based friends. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

I can't eat red meat because of RA BUT, I do eat roasted chickens, salmon and make bone broth religiously! I oven bake squash, yams. Use Zuchinni religiously. No dairy, I become inflamed. I do eat apples and occasionally a bit of brown rice. I also use Braggs' Apple cider vinegar, and eat mostly vegetables, a lot of nuts and spinach salad, cherry tomatoes. Coconut oil and Stevia. Home made bone broth! I have never felt better!! GO FOR IT!!

Dr Steven Gundry states that leaky gut is caused by Lectins which are contained in tomato skins and seed, grains, legumes and rice. I would avoid rice and apples as they are high in carbohydrates. I'm finding out Bananas are good, despite the sugars, my gut bacteria feeds on them and gives me monounsaturated fats in return. Despite eating lots, I'm still maintaining ketosis.

Thanks for a very good video Josh. In Germany I can get Brottrunk which helps to clean and activate white blood cells. It is a fermented grain beverage with very high levels of probiotics. It is high in grain lactic acid. Being gluten intolerant - long term cause of my leaky gut issues - I was dubious about taking it and I do notice some side effects if I over consume. Surprised that you make no mention of coffee and black tea (caffeine) consumption along with grains and processed foods as something to avoid. Also, bone broth, coconut oil and veggies need to be organic or you are filling your gut with steroids and pesticides that will be counterproductive.

@nlpjohn Flax is estrogenic- men need to avoid. Any food that gives you gas is telling you that it's hurting your body and causing inflammation which causes leaky gut. Beef is great for restoration.

Did you get tested for food allergies? I know the struggle with what you are talking about. Experienced intense abdominal pain with certain fiber. A food allergy test a game changer for individuals with food sensitivities.

    • @sabrina2749
      @sabrina2749 Před 2 lety

@@lambert_university Thank you for your answer! Yes, I did get tested for food allergies but the results weren't like what I was expecting (for example, I get psoriasis when I eat nuts but apparently I'm not allergic to them). I also suspect I have a silent form of celiac disease since I react very badly to gluten and I even have the genetic polymorphism associated with it. Now I'm just following an AIP diet because I developed an autoimmune condition in the past few years (probably due to untreated leaky gut and birth control pill) and I hope I can lower inflammation in this way

Hi Dr Axe, very interesting video, thank you. You stated salmon for the omega3, but you spoke of baking the salmon in the oven. Omega3 are very fragile and easily oxided , are you sure the omega 3 will survive high temperatures ? Or maybe you haven't mentionned the cooking temperature ;) . I will be happy to hear your comments about it. Keep up the great work. You are doing a favor to the entire community.

It depends on which problems you have and if you're eating also things that destroy the bacteria in your gut.
Yogurt if homemade, get raw grass-fed milk, within fermentation the enzymes eat the lactose so in the end your yogurt gets 0 sugar
