    I agree, it's been a fantastic racing shoe. I've run a 3:02 marathon a month ago (the last sub 3:05 was 6 years ago so I'm more than happy) and was perfect, aggressive ride, just the right amount of firmness and bounce a lot. It is not an stable shoe by any means, the corners and 360º turns were very tricky to dealt but in straight course were amazing. I agree that the shoe demand good calf muscles to deal in the last stages of a marathon. The upper and shape is one of the most comfortable racing shoes in the market, similar to PUMA Nitro Elite 2 to me.

    Great review, my problem is with the Zoom X premature death... Turbo midsole lasts forever. Just hope Turbo Plus lasts as long as the Turbo.

      The Turbo is certainly hard to kill, I've got a hunch the plus may not be as durable. Be good to hear from somebody who has put lots of miles in the turbo plus.

    Great review as always. We need a comparison. Edge is the classic formula for speed....

    My ankle hurts in Adios Pro 3/Vaporfly 3 since I overpronate. Do you think this will suit me?

  • @BamainMn
    @BamainMn Před měsícem +2

    Great review…but insofar as the marathon, is it more wobbly than the Vaporfly 2 (not sure how many versions they have - or next percent 2)?

      No; VF2 is softer and has higher drop; this is better shoe

      @run-are  Před měsícem +2

      In my experience it's about the same as VF 2 but the foam is a little firmer in the Paris.

    Post run, after a very hard effort, does anyone experience quad or other leg pain? I've enjoyed a 5k PB in these shoes and they feel absolutely great whilst running and give that propulsion and performance benefit you'd expect but, twice now, the days after, my quads have been very sore as well as my calves. I don't know whether to attribute this to my running form but I never experienced this with the Metaspeed Sky+. Strange?

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před 7 dny +1

      @@smilebroadlyandlaughmerrily I haven't experienced anything like that from the shoes, thanks for the comment!

      @@run-are Thanks for replying. I did find it strange that I had this quad muscle soreness as I rarely have soreness in this muscle so it must just be my own running form/weakness. Regardless, it is still my favourite race day shoe. Thanks again.

    Really still in doubt between sky paris and edge paris differences in terms of softness, ride and best use, mate... what are your ultimate thoughts about both?

    • @markoljustina
      @markoljustina Před měsícem +2

      Sky is softer

      I haven't run in the Edge yet. Hopefully I'll get a pair soon. I have heard amazing things about that shoe also.

    you mentioned alot of bouce and energy return, how is it compare purely on bouce/ propulsion and energy return vs neo vista? tks.

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před měsícem +2

      Neo is softer, smoother and rockered more towards the middle of the shoe which then results in less of an aggressive pitch forward as you run while the foam still has bounce, the rebound isn't as responsive. A slower bounce... Hopefully that helps?

    • @johnsonch7292
      @johnsonch7292 Před měsícem +2

      @@run-are sounds like asics has higher or stronger bounce and probably overall more energy return?

    I love the Metaspeed Edge plus and Sky plus but Sky Plus is killing my calfs and Achilles tendon if I use it for longer runs because I am a heel striker and slow runner and I feel in a Sky Plus I have a bump under the metatarsal every step.. I was going to buy the Edge Paris but I see it is now 5mm drop like the Sky Plus.. Same with the Alphafly V1 which I added a small heel wedge to make it feel like 8mm drop.
    Alphafly V2 is perfect because it has 4mm more drop 🎉🎉🎉

    Should have scored higher on the price, it’s the cheaper super shoe on the market

      You're right, but we can't be giving away any encouragement to these companies for charging $300+ for any type of shoe 😂😂 .
      The way it's going $400+ will soon be the norm.
