I laughed, cried, and found myself rooting for you and your future endeavors. From someone who fights their demons on a daily basis, thanks for making this type of comedy.
I was at the second show when he recorded this. I've been a fan of his since 2013, and I've been lucky enough to see him work shop material at bar shows for years. This was my first time seeing him do a full hour. It was so good.
@@chrisosantowski885 no, we got the email that we would get paid to be on stage but the friends I went with were scared they were gonna get heckled. I assured them that no one would rely too heavily on crowd work for a special. It was still a great show.
fuck yes, this guy needs more recognition, been waiting for new content for a while so i'm very happy to see this edit: the special was better than i had even hoped for
Literally just finished watching Red Blue Green, and came to see if you had a CZcams channel I really needed to hear those words, and I didn’t even know it. Thank you
was watching this it came on after a movie i was watching i was like wow this is some dark comedy i didn't know who Drew was but i like comedy then as i watched i saw a deeply suffering soul and i began to pray and send love to him as a fellow being. i was so moved by the ending it is such a window into how many feel about life and how painful it is to want true real connection but sacrifice the essence of who they are and where they are at in the quest to find true connection i have surley done it too. Limerance is a word i had never heard before this week he is describing that n a profound way. I believe this is going to be a tool of awakening hearts to the truth of reality DREW i send you Love TRUE LOVE you are a brave soul to speak vulnerable heart truth i could feel the anguish and i wept..You are loved you are Lovable and i bless you to know yourself as Love and be transformed by all the LOVE of Heaven...thank you ❤💜🌈
Just saw this on HBO. I had never heard of you Drew. I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for not always trying to be funny, I appreciate that. Nice work.
Dude! I just discovered you 1 hour ago by watching this. Wow. How refreshing. I grew up living comedy...but for the reasons you mentioned it gets harder and harder to watch. Just like you say " what path am i on " Many of us watching are like " why am i watching this " especially these horrible podcasts. Thank you for your craft anf reminding me HONEST COMEDY isnt dead. 😊🙏
Drew had a few insightful comments on this special but it was saddening more than anything. You don't pay money to see a comedian and feel you must help him with his psychological issues and problems as a person. If he was 22 instead of 36, I'd have more respect, but for the most part, he's just a dude who has failed to grow and only wants to slam society in general. If all of this was funny, it might override the weakness but aside from a few chuckles, it wasn't. Even the audience on the HBO special was largely not laughing.
Or maybe youre like most of society the part of society who chooses to run from themselves by making fun of others. *cough* like you just did. His special was honest and raw. It wasn't a knee slapper but it wasn't supposed to be. I think he wrote a lot of his material to get the audience to reflect on their own behaviors and how absolutely ridiculous our generation appears. Because we do.. we look stupid. And look at society our stupidity will be what ruins us. If you need proof just look outside your window. But give him a break or honestly give yourself a break it sounds like you need a prayer.
What do you think of hannah gadsby, dave chappelle (recent ones), bo burnham etc, their comedy is also slamming society, relective deliberative type... But if you feel not to have got your money's worth, just watch his clips here on youtube.. all of them are hilarious. His specials are more reflective, but that's who he is. I like him like that. The purpose of art is to express and to purify. His comedy is high on truth value so feels raw but the expression is immaculate. To grow doesn't mean to be like the rest. Why can't a truly grown up person not slam what he finds wrong with the society.

Not sure about how new, I’ve heard those jokes before. Still, excited for this
That ending, I was just frozen as he just kept going and going. At the end I started clapping 👏
"I just think if entertainment is going to be this ubiquitous, it cant be devoid of humanity."
Amen brother. Well said.
The “why did the chicken cross the road” bit at the end made me cry, it reminds me a lot of myself to a T
There were a couple times where I was like holy crap it's almost scares me how similar thoughts they were
